Spent 5 nights at this site. On arrival we were greeted with a very cheery and friendly warden who quickly and efficiently took us to our designated pitch. The euro pitches are all super huge and we had a fully serviced one, which was great. There was more than ample space for our safari room, in fact, we could have easily fitted in two!
Toilet/shower block was spotless, with lovely hot water. Met the cleaner there one morning who starts work at 5 am.
Caister is about 1 mile walking distance, where there is a Lidl and further along the main street, Tesco, with lots of little shops along the way. On Saturdays in a field next to Tesco there is a car boot sale, with all sorts of interesting bibs and bobs on offer. We cycled to Scratby where there is a quaint supermarket/post office/antique shop/garden centre all in one place.
Everything on the site was just perfect - loads to do, including a lovely stretch of beach. Some tourers were pitched for a month and one couple for 3 months, which says it all!.
Highly recommended for families and couples alike, as there is plenty of varied entertainment for all ages. The chippie too was first class. Will have no hesitation in returning again and again.

Just had a week at this site over Easter and May Bank holiday weekend.
Totally agree with review from Defender. The pitches are Big, showers were spotless, warden pleasant and very helpful
The Neptune bar is being knocked down later in the year and a new £3 million pound club is being built, so the site is getting even better.
The Chippy is good, fish was very tasty. Our teenage Daughter is to old for the party dances etc so we would go in the club later for the Live entertainment, this was the only down side we found, the entertainment was a bit on the poor side, maybe because it was early season but the 'rockin country show' was on twice in the same week and the rest were just ok.
It is good that, unlike some Haven sites, there are a couple of other bars to have a drink.
We went to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft (14 miles away) but to be honest there is enough on site without have to travel to far.
They have only had touring pitches for a year, there are 45 pitches.
Definitely worth a visit especially if you have younger children

We were initially sceptical about booking this site. All other Haven sites appeared to be fully booked for the week that we wanted to travel; as well as a host of other national and independent sites.
When we booked through the Haven national call centre we were pleased that Caister had vacancies and even more pleased with the price; £96 for two adults, three children, a dog and awning on a 'Euro' pitch.
This includes dedicated water tap, waste water disposal, EHU and aerial point on a 10m x 10m (33ft x 33ft approx) pitch. So what was the catch?
Well, after a glorious week (and the weather really was glorious) I cannot honestly say that there was/is a catch.
The site is large, with Haven having bought out an adjoining campsite, but you never really feel that you are crowded. There are two clubhouses, a 'pub', a chippie, a pizzeria, restaurant and bar as well as a brand new (opened 09/04/2011) indoor swimming complex, two outdoor children's play parks, two outdoor green areas for ball games, a decent sized 'zip-wire', bicycle hire, convenience store and fencing, archery lessons etc.
True, the entrance to the site is not overly obvious when approaching from the north, but if you remember that the entrance to the touring area is via a separate entrance approximately 50yds further south, then you should have no real issues in overshooting the site.
Once on site the approach to the touring area is easy and there is a lay-by for two units to park whilst checking-in. There are about 48 pitches in total which are allocated by the park on the basis of size of your unit, type of unit etc. Some of the pitches have small trees within the pitch which precludes some of the longer units from using those pitches.
As mentioned on a previous review, the pitches are generally level, insofar as they are flat, but a lot of them do tend to slope gently towards the bottom of the site. We used a couple of wooden boards that raised our nearside by about 2' and we were near as dammit perfectly level.
The combined shower/toilet block is brand new and conveniently sited for the tourers. Access is by keypad lock to prevent those returning to their static caravans from Neptunes Palace clubhouse or the bar/restaurant from using them. Spotless in every sense.
One small gripe would be the lack of a seating area in the shower cubicles. This could easily be remedied by fixing those wall-mounted folding seats. It would certainly help those who are less mobile to dress after their ablutions.
Although fairly close to the Neptunes Palace, most of the pedestrian traffic is directed away from the touring area so that noise is kept at an absolute minimum even when the clubhouse empties out.
The site has its own access onto the beach, which is a beautiful, mainly sandy beach which extends for miles. There are no restrictions on dogs at any time of the year either.
For those who take a television with them, either take a suitably long coax cable to hook up to the turret or hire one from the touring reception. It is doubtful that your caravans aerial will be good enough to draw in a suitable signal on its own. Satellite dishes are fine, but if you find yourself at the bottom end of the site, a tree line that forms the boundary of the site prevents you from picking up a satellite signal.
The town of Caister itself is about 1 mile distant and offers a selection of shops, restaurants, take-aways etc. Great Yarmouth is about 4 miles away and offers all the attractions that a large town has to offer including a couple of out of town trading estates (B&Q, Curry's, Halfords, Carphone Warehouse, £1 shop etc) as well as a large Tesco and Asda; the latter offering 24hr fuel dispensing.
In fact, I don't know why I'm writing this review. This could have been our little Norfolk secret; now we'll probably find that as word spreads about the good sized pitches and excellent on-site facilities, it will become harder and harder to book due to it always being sought after.

Excellent site - but be careful as this site isnt sign posted from the road very well and you may miss the entrance.
We stayed here for a long weekend and wished we'd book the full week. The pitches are big and well spaced out (not cramped) The shower blocks are brand new and excellent - although I do agreed there is no where to put your shampoo.
After our 1st night we woke to find ants crawling in the awning - NOT HAVENS FAULT its just the time of year. I was told all the pitches were booked but after haggling we soon got moved to another pitch. Thankyou very much to JO the touring warden who was lovely.
This used to be static caravans only and opened its gates to tourers this year - WELL DONE HAVEN.
There is so much to do on this site you cannot pack it all in.
The chippy is lovely and well run by Ted and his crew.
The entertainment was top notch with a 3 piece vocal band on Friday night and a duo and comedian on Saturday night with typical funstars entertainment on Sunday night.
We didn't use the shop or pool so I can not comment.
Neptunes Entertainment bar does have approx 10 steps to climb so with a buggy and small children we did struggle every night up and down.
This restaurant really lets haven sites down we've been to several on different haven sites and everyone is as crap as the next.
Our experience at Caisters Mash & Barrell was we went to eat at 7pm with our 2 small children and was told there was over an hour wait. There was only 8 tables occupied it wasn't busy????
Thank heavens for PAPA JOHNS PIZZAS which you can take in Neptunes bar and eat at your leisure.
Yes we would return and yes this is a good site for visiting the surrounding towns like Great Yarmouth - Southwolds - Cromer and Sheringham.

The first week of July saw us down at Caister on Sea at the Haven complex. We stayed on the newly built touring park which opened in May this year. Just being a new section to the Haven complex there are very few if any write ups about it.
On arrival we were met by Joe the very warm and friendly warden. She gives you your passes and site info then will walk you to your pitch. The pitches themselves are very spacious but are on a very slight slope running from the top of the site to bottom so I would advise a levelling block. It would only be a couple inches though.
Each pitch is serviced with its own EHU at 16amps, on the tower there is the water point which has screw threads on it if you have an adapter for a hose, there is a TV connector also, under the stand there is the grey water drain. This EHU tower only supplies you and not your neigbour. When the caravan is set onto your pitch there is enough room to put up your awning and still have room to put the car next to that. Our caravan is 16 foot and at the front we had about 3 foot to spare, at the rear there was about 7 foot to spare so enough room there to.
The front half of the pitch is reinforced while the back half is grass and plenty of it to lie about on. At the moment all pitches are boardered with shrubs and when they grow it will make all pitches private. You might find it a bit tight to reverse your unit onto the pitch if its a long one because the road through the site is not that wide.
The toilet/shower block is excellent, though it should be its brand new. The only fault I found was the use of the timer valve on the shower, you only get 30 seconds. Ok its no problem pressing it a few times to have your shower but it would be nice not to. Hot water in the shower was just right and has a good pressure to it. Just outside the doors to the toilets is the washing up and vegetable preperation area, while the chemical toilet waste was round the back of them.
As you expect on a Haven site there are plenty activities for the kids, from a pool to cycle hire, football area fenced off and a zip wire. At the very bottom of the complex there is a walkway straight onto the beach which is very handy. There is a Fish shop, Chinnees takeaway who will deliver to your caravan, Mash and Barrel pub where meals are served and an ordinary pub. There is the entertainment hall which has slot machines and the stage for the shows. I found the caravan park very clean and tidy at all times as were the toilets and showers.
Outside the main gates there is another Fish shop and Chinnees takeaway but not connected to Haven. Aprox 50 yards to the left outside the main gate there is the bus stop for Great Yarmouth and for the return journey its up and across a bit.
You have to be a bit carefull when approaching the site from the north side because the sign for tourers is not visible and when you get into the main concorse it is hard to turn round. It is the second entrance for the touring site. You can see it ok coming from Great Yarmouth side. There are plans to make the site bigger and raise the pitches from its current 44 but I could not find out when its going to happen. All in all its a great touring site and very handy for the area.
I would recommend it if you area going to drive around Norfolk as the road links are pretty good. I would give the Touring side of the complex 9 out of 10.

This park has recently opened to Touring Caravans, and camper vans. The toilet/~Shower block is brand new with excellent facilities, although I feel that the layout could have been better designed and there is nowhere to put your shampoo etc. In the showers.
The site is pretty sloped and therefore we needed levelling blocks.
The site is excellent for kids you could easily stay on site for the entire week as there is so much for them on park. We were a party of just 2 adults and did not fully use the facilities on offer.
The park is in an established location within easy reach of Great Yarmouth and also the Norfolk Broads.

We have just returned from this holiday park I was very disapointed with this site. When you read about this site it tells you that there is lots to do and see. How ever this does not seam to be in this case. The entertainment was not very good its ok for kids. The food is ok and the caravan we had was big and not too far from every thing but as we had a cold spell there this was not very warm inside. With only one heater this is not good when you have a 19month old baby. There was a nice beach to go on but you had to climb through some railings if you wanted to get to the sea or walk up the sand some way to get round this but with a buggy this is not easy in the sand. The pool was very good. Also when we went in to the caravan we were met by this bad smell like dead fish but apart from that it was clean> The staff was very helpful and the site was very clean. There was a shop on site which had most things but could be pricey. Also had a very nice Chinese on site and a pizza place we also took our baby to the so called kids club. But felt let down by that. As not much going on in the way of entertainment for them at a young age but staff was very good at doing what they could this is a ok site but don't think I will be going back to this haven site in the near future.

This is a great park and we have visited around 5 times now. They have great caravans and chalets.
Kitchen equipment can be a bit worn but very good pots and pans. Great indoor pool and the special kids club is great. We tried half board and the food was good with a huge choice. Well stocked but slightly overpriced hire shop. The kids will love the tower slide. Bus stop right outside takes you into Yarmouth and past the race course. Staff even helped us plan our day with discounts and bus timetables. We will be back soon as this park is our personal best. Try the Chinese take away and teens games room.
