We are a family of 5 and stayed one night travelling from Fife to Brittany then another on our return journey.
The site is ideal for an overnight stay to or from Scotland because it is just off the M6 and not disturbed by motorway traffic noise due to the trees. The toilets are clean, adequate and staff are friendly. The nearby services has a farm shop stocking mainly local produce with an extensive range of meat for the BBQ.
There is a security barrier which must be opened then closed every time on entering or exiting the site. This is good security and particularly required with the site being located close to the motorway.
Unfortunately, there was no play park for our children ages 4, 5 and 7. Also, the park fills with tourer vans very quickly in the evening and therefore booking in advance is strongly advised. There are no tents on this site.
I will use this site again.

Just back from a two night stay at this park, myself, my husband and 2 boys 9 and 6. Went to this site so we could visit the Appleby horse fair. The staff were very friendly, showers and toilets were spotless, site was quiet. We would return to this site.
Only thing that would improve this site would be a couple of swings or something next to the little goal posts for kids to play.

Our first trip our with a caravan so we selected this site due to ease of access. Arrived at this park yesterday.
We were met by Dave and Elaine I do not think you will find a nicer couple.
My wife admitted that this was our first time out in our caravan, within a min Dave was over helping me set up the van showing me the ropes. He even went and fixed a leaking pipe for me under my van. For us this made the whole visit a real pleasure.
The site itself is a small but cracking site, a nice dog walk which my 4 year old loved and even spotted a rabbit which we called Peter.
The services and Farm Shop are 2 mins from the site on foot, yet you do not hear the traffic.
The showers were in really clean and a pleasure to use.
The level of customer service showed by Dave and Elaine makes me give this park a 10 out of 10 Overall Rating.

The toilet & shower block were old but very clean and even though the park is right on the motorway we didn't hear the motorway noise as it is set down in amongst the trees. The wildlife was lovely, birds, rabbits and Mr & Mrs Duck. We will be back.

A very convenient stopover site for anyone heading down the M6 for the South or heading North to Scotland.
Hardstandings in amongst a dense wooded area.
Friendly welcome from the onsite warden who showed us to our pitch and helped with the manoeuvring.
Facilities very good, plenty of water points etc. Shop has basics - motorway service area linked if any other supplies required.
Extremely good value for money - especially for a one night stop. Will use again.

Stopped here for 1 x night, excellent facilities, toilets & showers clean and in good working order.
The pitch was level, hard standing, & own water supply.
Only digital TV signal, you'll need a high gain ariel or Sat Dish & receiver.
Upon check-in you get a discount voucher for use in the shops & facilities at the services.
We took a trip to a local village for our evening meal, in a local pub which was fantastic, and good value for money.
A lot of long stay campers as well as short stay, access to the Southbound M6 carriageway, at the rear of the services, if needed, very little road noise considering so close to motorway.
A great place to stop over.

There are not many decent campsites right next to the M6 for those making the long trek to or from the north of Scotland, so this site is very useful. It is on the northbound side, but accessible (and well signposted) from the southbound side too.
It is a peaceful place, enclosed by trees - hard to know the motorway is even there. The staff were wonderfully helpful, and seemingly always around. The toilet block was immaculate. Pitches not as spacious as on some sites, but perfectly adequate.
The services are a short walk away. The farm shop is a great place to stock up. If you want a special meal, the hotel is excellent. Campers get a discount on the farm shop, hotel meal and breakfast at the services.
Only problem we saw was that the waste bins on the dog walk were overflowing, but it was a very busy summer weekend.

Stayed here for our first trip out with our folding camper over bank holiday weekend. We couldn't ask for friendlier staff or a more 'peaceful' site. I use the term peaceful but the birds might have another thing to say. They could really make a racket when they wanted to. The motorway could only be heard as a slight hum in the background. With regards to the local wildlife the children loved the rabbits hopping all around the dog walk (which leads you around the perimeter of the site and has a larger area to let your dog off the lead) and thoroughly enjoyed our little robin visitor who tried to get into the camper each day! It's all hard standing which proved a little difficult for our practise run at the awning but it was something we expected. The shower blocks are older fashioned but very well maintained, spotless and always warm regardless of time of day. We travelled South to Kendal and North to Penrith and followed the instructions given by the campsite. They were spot on and took us exactly where we wanted to go. The services are known for being one of the best on the motorway and I certainly agree. The food was lovely and the farm shop has lots of lovely local delights - the discount vouchers came in very handy. All in all a great first venture out, an ideal stop-over for those of you travelling up to Scotland or down to the South of the country and a great starting place for nervous beginners.

Very friendly site with a great dog walk around the outside of the park. Hardstanding pitches meant no problems with muddy grass and the discount vouchers for the services were good news (especially the breakfast deal!). Information from the wardens was spot on and we managed to drive to the services for petrol and back to the site without having to worry about the caravan on the back. Highly recommended.
