Four day stay rapidly cut down to two, due entirely to the noise of one or two 'gangs' of unruly campers, with noise carrying on until well gone 4 am on the first night. 2nd night resulted in same gangs retching and urinating up against our tent.
The final straw was when one family quite literally pitched on our front 'doorstep' whilst we were out for the day, who didn't seem to realise that canvas walls are not designed to keep conversations in - and that not everybody wanted to know about her sons excessive wind problem or hear her threaten to physically harm her children on more than one occasion because they refused to sleep.
Didn't need to use the loos/showers.
Geezer and his missus (and very cool dogs) on our right were lovely as were the couple who were on our left originally, until they were forced to re-pitch their tent to get into and out of their porch when the people with no spacial awareness arrived.
Pitch on the sloping area at the top if you want EHU as there is none at the bottom and I think its probably a nice enough site mid-week when its quiet, but this weekend it was over-crowded and poorly managed - sorry, but it's true.
Dent itself is lovely and well worth a visit.

We have just returned from 4 nights at Conder Farm and it is one of the best campsites we have used in a longtime.
The site was clean and tidy, though the toilets / showers were basic but adequate, (but for £4.00 pppn it was what we expected).
The owners are welcoming and do excellent cooked breakfasts, and the Sun Inn does really good food (and large portions).
The village of Dent is idyllic and awash with history.
We will definitely be returning.

Campsite is pretty easy to find once off the motorway, driving through busy Sedburgh and Dent which is comprised of picturesque cobbled streets and cottages. We contacted Mick before hand to check whether groups & dogs were allowed as we'd already had one campsite change their mind on us the night before we were leaving and he advised us there was no problem with either!
There were a few flat pitches available but with the amount of rain we'd had over the last few weeks we opted to camp on the slope which meant you slid to the bottom of your tent each night! Facilities at the site are a little dire especially when more people turned up on Saturday. There's one toilet and shower allocated to ladies but it's very basic - don't forget your flip flops if you want a shower! Men's facilities are even worse, but to be honest we were only staying a couple of nights so we never entertained using the showers. On the positive side there was always toilet paper in all toilets!
The village of Dent itself was lovely, We ate at the George & Dragon both nights and the food was faultless - fresh veg and a great choice for all tastes. We also took in a few drinks at the Sun which is a bit livelier and the locals are all very welcoming. Both pubs are dog friendly. The village shop is handy but it does only stock the basics so if you need more you would need to drive into Sedburgh which is about 20 mins back towards to the M6.
We walked up Flintergill on the Saturday morning which is a moderate climb following the stream (which was more like a torrent when we went due to all the rain!) taking you up to the hills overlooking Dent, giving you great views of the valley and rolling hills.
We had a great weekend camping and at £4 pp/pn we can't complain about the dodgy loos!

We have been using this campsite for several years and go at least once a year. We like it because of its location, with plenty of awesome local walks, and fantastic pubs nearby.
It also has a very relaxed atmosphere, even when packed, I suspect this is due, in part at least, to the laid back attitude of the couple that run it, they are always very friendly and helpful, but certainly don't run the site with the autocracy seen in some!
The only slightly negative point is the facilities, they are rather basic and a bit grubby, also they can become unusable when the site gets busy as they cannot cope and toilets get blocked etc. Personally this does not bother me too much, but those not accustomed to roughing it a bit might not be able to cope!
The only other slight negative is that there is not much flat space to pitch a tent, although after a few ales from the local microbrewery, this matters not!
All in all, fantastic place and we will keep going back!

We just returned from Conder Farm, having spent a single night there in late July. It was our first time at this campsite, and our first time in Dent for about 10 years. (We usually go camping with our family several times during the summer in our 6 man tent, but this time in Dent my wife and I escaped the kids to go walking in the Dales and stayed in a small 2 man tent.)
We chose the campsite because of the reviews that we'd seen on this website of Conder Farm versus High Laning. The previous comments on Conder seem to be accurate. The site is very close to Dent - just 2 minute's walk from the pubs in town. It's on a sloping hillside with a flat bit at the bottom. If you're in a caravan or a camper, you should be OK if you can jack up one end. In a tent, you'd need to camp at the bottom of the hill.
It's very basic. There are toilets and free hot showers, however it seems like someone (some years ago) just installed them in an old cowshed/outbuilding. They weren't unhygienic as far as we could tell, but weren't particularly pleasant, and we avoided the showers. Particularly innovative use of half a drainpipe as the men's 'pee corner' gives you an idea of the general standard.
Having said this, the costs have remained unchanged for some years at £4/person/night. In addition to this, the owners laid on breakfast bacon/egg butties + tea/coffee for £2 in the morning, which meant we didn't have to cook and was good value if you are OK with eating in a farmhouse kitchen, with cats and dogs running around. Nice place for a chat, and we found the owners very friendly.
Dent itself appeared a little run down. We were surprised how empty it was, given that this is the school summer holidays. There are two pubs. The Sun Inn used to be THE pub, but is looking tired and a little worn. In contrast, the George & Dragon was of a fairly high standard, seems to have been recently revitalised and is now owned the the Dent Brewery (or vice verse). Food was good at the George, and there were 8 Dent ales on tap.
So would we return? Yes, but for more than a single night in a tent, we would probably check out the facilities (and the prices) at High Laning first. In a camper/caravan we would be OK to stay longer.

Dent is beautiful and this camp-site is in a beautiful location. There's lots to see and do in the local area, the shops and pubs are good. The site is on a steep hill with limited flat area at the bottom.
Unfortunately this site is let down by its 'rustic' facilities. The toilets and showers at this site are long overdue for an update !

Site is on a slope but if the weather is fine there are flat areas - unfortunately is was chucking it down when I stayed for one night but that didn't diminish the experience.
Mick and his good lady are very welcoming, the bacon buttie and brew were too after such a soggy night !
Pubs are good and 100m away !
Thanks and I can fully recommend this site

Stayed here during the Dent Folk Festival, as stated in other reviews the facilities are very basic, but I only stayed 3 nights so I coped. The basic facilities however were more than made up for by the wonderful welcome from Mick and Wendy and the fantastic breakfast which was too enormous for me so I opted for scrambled eggs on toast which were superb and only £2 both options come with as much tea or coffee as you can drink as well, Wendy is also a mine of information about the locality and thoroughly entertaining, thanks to you both.
Dent is my favourite dale, and though the site is sloping having a small tent I pitched at the top of the field with stunning views across the valley. The site is only two minutes from the village which is more than adequately provided with good facilities, two excellent pubs and a several cafes, and a lovely little shop and post office both sadly up for sale or closure. Disgraceful in the PO case, why are local amenities being so eroded? Do be warned however that if you arrive by train, as I did, the station is 4.5 miles from the village, and unless your prepared to walk it will mean a taxi fare of £12 each way as a bus service is practically none existent, so much for leaving the car at home! A pity as the train journey on the famous Settle/Carlisle line is so picturesque. Don't be put off though as it's well worth the trip to such a beautiful spot it's isolated location adds to it's appeal and the Folk Festival is one of the best music festivals I've been to in many a year, do visit and stay at Conder farm. ;-) Deni

Site is beside a narrow lane only a stones throw from the village. Only £4 p.P.P.N. Just £2 for children. Bottom of site is gently sloping and the grass is well kept and well cropped. Toilet facilities are basic but adequate and the hot water to the taps and showers is free. The only dishwashing sink is outside.
The full breakfast is now £4 and you get A LOT. But you can have other stuff instead, eg a bacon butty.
Dent has only one shop for provisions and it's for sale. It has two pubs(one has a beer garden) which both do meals and an amazing heritage centre which is a must see ( allow plenty of time)The Post Office is marked for closure.
Both pubs are big on Real Ale with the George and Dragon having a large selection from its own brewery ( Dent Brewery) The G&D also has large screen sky TV.

I stayed on the site with a large group of fellow bikers, and we were made to feel very welcome by the hosts Wendy and Mick. They are two very lovely people.
Only parts of the site are flat with a large proportion on a slope, but that didn't phase us too much.
The facilities are basic and we shipped in some extra mobile toilets for our gathering, which were well received. Personally I wouldn't like to be there with the family to find a whole a group descended without provision for any extra facilities!
The breakfast in Wendy and Mick's own kitchen was fantastic, and you really felt one of the family whilst staying there.
And Dent what a lovely place. I'd not stayed in the area before so it was great to see such an unspoiled place. The pubs and shop were just a quick 3 minute walk in to the village. Just remember that the shop closes at 5pm we missed it on more than one occasion!
