This site couldn't be in a better location, beautiful scenery, babbling brook etc, however the facilities are very poor. They consist of 1 disused bathroom in the hotel, that is 1 shower and 1 toilet for the whole site which was reasonably busy over the bank holiday weekend. This got very muddy and dirty, it was also the water tap for the site.
The pub toilets can be used during opening hours but they are also less than adequate and smelled. The drinks in the pub are expensive, the food poor. Beware that the gate is locked to prevent vehicle access although a wheel barrow can be borrowed to transport your equipment on and off the site.
On the plus side is was very peaceful, ok for a weekend.

Very small but friendly site. Beautiful location. Only stayed for one night and arrived late on in the afternoon as you cannot pre-book and there was plenty of space for 2 small tents. Reasonably priced at £5 per person with a £10 returnable deposit on leaving. Facilities are basic as we were not told about getting to the toilets when the pub was closed,so we had to wait until the pub opened. The pub is quite pricey although the food is rather nice and has a decent choice. Very quiet on an evening except hearing the stream nearby and the passing owls. Very dark once leaving the pub, We recommend taking a torch with you to find your way. Nearest shops/cash machine are approx 1 mile away in Hawes,so take plenty of provisions. We would definitely return here for a weekend away.

Site was not overly crowded on 1st May bank holiday. The shower/toilet block is not finished yet, was informed may be not this year! so had to use pub/hotel for facilities inc water. As for the pub the beer was great as was the food, a time warp pub with real fires but can be dark so don't wear sun glasses!
Hawes was an enjoyable walk good shops pubs etc. Children will enjoy all the lambs at this time of year.

I have been using this campsite since September 07 with my family and my girlfriend. It’s just the best place to camp. Yeah it’s a bog standard campsite but they are in the process of building a heritage centre and toilets, shower block. You can use the toilets which are situated at the bottom of the field in the pub, they are clean and tidy. The pub also serves home cooked food and has live bands on a Saturday night. Hawes town centre is just either a 2 minute drive or you can walk into town across the fields, both are nice. Once in the town there are pubs serving lovely meals and drinks. There are cafes, a chippy, a pizza takeaway and even an old fashioned sweet shop, which I love to visit and stock up on my old favs. All in all this is a wonderful place, I visit many many times a year. It cost only £3 pppn and you pay a £10 deposit which you get back, all being well. This also gives you free access to the highest unbroken waterfall in the uk. It’s actually where robin hood bathed as Maid Marion looked on (robin hood prince of thieves).

The website is misleading, as it's actually £4.00 ppn (plus a £10 deposit!). There are no facilities except for the pub toilets, and these are poor quality. Much of the grounds were closed off when we visited, apparently due to health and safety concerns. The pub is a lovely building, but the staff can be pretty grumpy at times and the beer is very expensive (£2.50 a pint for bitter!). The whole place needs work on customer care and infrastructure to reach its undoubted potential.
