Wonderful location, The site is lovely and extremely well kept. The people are friendly helpful. Cheap for £9 per night.
Toilets are nice and clean, showers are nice and warm too. Separate area for washing up. Well managed.
The guys in the clubhouse handed over a sheet which includes all the informations that I needed, showers and toilets codes, places where we can buy caravan accessories, doctors, hospitals, chemists, train stations, petrol stations, restaurants supermarkets, places that can visit and etc. Etc.
The bar is opening certain nights and it is also great value.
Will definitely visit again and becoming one of my favourite site.

Very nice site, lovely surroundings, cheap for a tent (only £8) and only a pound for electric so I was told. Had a good laugh with some people we meet there, the site is clean and flat, had a good nights sleep on good even ground.
The toilets are a walk, you have to go to the club changing rooms but they were nice and clean and the showers were nice and warm.
The surrounding were very nice and we even got to watch the cricket whilst we were there.
A great site well worth a visit!

Quite a small site which is mainly occupied by caravans. Not a great deal of field space if like us you like to play games. Nice and quite though and Bob who runs it is friendly.
You can use the sports club toilets when it's open then after that you've to use the cricket club changing rooms. There's 1 toilet and 3 showers. The shower is lovely and warm and kept nice and clean.
Not a bad site for an odd night but wouldn't fancy a week there!

This site, by a sports ground was very basic. We were travelling with friends and family so we were lucky in that we could use their caravan toilets on occasion. Had it not been for this, I couldn't have stayed. The ablutions offered by the site were in fact shared by the local cricket club and were much too basic for my sensibilities. This was not the sort of site I would choose, because I don't see why camping should be an endurance. The site itself was a little rough+ready and served as digs to some workmen. On my first night I was rudley awoken by a booming rendition of 'On Ilkley Moor Bah'tat' at 1am courtesy of a courousing Yorkshireman. The next morning, I decided to grab a shower before the car boot sale on the sports field was underway. I was too late and emerged from the shower to the dozens of pairs of eyes of women+children queuing for the single loo. I hung my head in shame cutting through a car boot sale in my dressing gown, clutching my washbag close for security.
On the other hand, my weekend was not an entirely miserable one. I think I would've been happier in a caravan. The village in which the campsite sits has the novelty of being the set of soap 'Emmerdale' and we had an interesting day out to the Bingley 5 Locks system and canal. The site could be a useful base for those visiting the area.
On the whole, the site was much too spartan for camping. Although it offended my sensibilities, other tougher types might find it OK. It wasn't what I am used to.

We stayed here for a few days in February half term week. It was very cold and frosty but had a great time.
Site is basic but had everything we needed. Showers and toilets were clean, with wonderful pressure showers - fantastic! Tiles very cold on the feet so maybe take crocks or flip flops for the showers.
When we arrived we were not met by anyone and so at first didn't know where things were but some other campers helped us and gave us the security codes for the various washrooms and showers. (There is 'home' and 'away' and 'referree' and 'ladies'). The site was quite boggy and not very well lit so make sure you have a torch.
Plenty of shops and caravan spares places within a short drive.
Excellent location - had 2 full days in York, a day in Leeds, A day at the Eureka children's museum in Halifax plus Bradford with its ice skating and media museum/imax cinema is only a short drive away so a great location for lots to do. Farm park and Woolpack a short walk down the lane, both great value - Very friendly in the woolpack and food wonderful.
We will go back. All in all a good value for money site in an excellent location.

This site is in beautiful countryside and I've never come across friendlier people both at the site and in the village. Very reasonable rates which include electric.
Only downside is the fact that the toilets and showers are the ones used by the cricket teams on match days and men really aren't as fastidious as us girls. However, they were cleaned every day and there were other toilets available in the clubhouse when open. In a caravan it shouldn't be a problem.
Some noisy guests but not too bad.

Where do I begin? Well lets just make one thing clear cheap(£8 per night in total) does not mean bad in fact here at Esholt it means a brilliant welcome from Bob in the clubhouse on check in when we were handed a sheet with all the local info that you could want! The facilities though basic but clean would and do put more expensive sites to shame and I could but won't name a few!The area has nice views(if you arn't afraid of sheep!),village and pub(the woolie). The club at night was welcoming and great value too!I'm going again and so I think you should give it a go too!

Stayed at the site first week in august, with small caravan
Very relaxed and friendly people.,site is small but perfectly placed to visit the area.'the woolpack'of emerdale fame is five mins walk away through village, and is close to the canal for walking, cycling etc. Supermarket is ten mins away by car.
Site is basic, flat and level, with plenty of hookup points,
Toilets are in the sportsclub using the home and away team showers so may have to wait at busy times, and as loos are in the same building can be a problem but are in the process of adding more loos.
The weekend we camped there was a car boot sale on football pitch next door on the Saturday morning, cricket on the cricket pitch in the afternoon, Sunday football match am.,and cricket Sunday afternoon, ( gave me something to watch whilst preparing the barby.)
Only problem we could find was no washup facilities for pots and crockery, difficult to wash up in small caravan sink.( next time we will pack a bowl)
Overall good value for money, if you are looking for five star facilities and entertainment then not the site for you but if you want good company and a friendly environment,in good location then perfect.
We have already booked again for the aug bank holiday weekend

This was only the 2nd site we had visited since retiring and purchasing a tent. Having looked at the description and knowing it was near to our son we were looking forward to our stay!
Fortunately we had not paid a deposit as the facilities were far below the standard that we had been led to expect and although we had an electric hook up found that we were the 'only' tent on site. The toilet facilities could only be described as 'dire'! Basically they consisted of the 'Home' and 'Away' teams changing rooms and the referees area. The Ref's area is what most people used and this had one toilet, one old basin with no plug and two dingy, dark shower areas. All areas could be used by male and female's staying there. We stayed for less than 24 hours and the toilets etc were never cleaned. Most people in caravans on site appeared to be staying there long term and we felt like the only 'holiday-makers'.
The bar/club is only open on certain evenings and apart from the groundsman we never saw anyone else. Ended up giving the cash for one night's stay to a gentleman cutting the grass and asking him to pass it on.
I had not been expecting ***** star accommodation but this site is definitely not suitable for anyone without their own toilet / shower / washing up etc etc facilities.

Small friendly site at side of cricket ground/club. Friendly welcome from the Cricket club staff. Good bar for a drink. We had a walk into Esholt only took 10 mins, we had a pint at the woolpack, then we visited St Leonard's Farm, a small farm which is great for young children. We only stayed for 1 night, it was only £6.50 for 2 ad 1 child and ehu, excellent value. This site isn`t far from home and we will visit again in the near future.
