 Firstly, the good. Very friendly and helpful people. Shared toilets , but clean. Nice small feel to site with comfortable pitches.
Now the not so bad, but be aware facts. Take rock pegs! ground is hard as a rock. Pool not heated. Play park area only has 3 things in which didn't occupy children for long. No shop on site so have to order bread etc day before or go to nearest village. No child bath. I also thought very expensive for 3 star i.e. 150 euro for 4 nights. This is more expensive than letang de breche nr samaur some 30km away in the Loire valley which is 4 star and has all facilities.
Finally, area leaves much to be desired, with few pretty areas. Very flat and reminded me of the fens in UK. Stick to the Loire valley!

I submitted the earlier review in 2005 and thought that I would reconfirm that everything I stated then still applies and that this is an exceptional site for Toilet Facilities and the general upkeep of the site. A small bar area has been added and is used for Barbecues and an Occasional Quiz etc. But it is never noisy. Well done to the new owners who have kept the ambience of the site and we really enjoyed our stay here even though the weather was not up to its usual sunny self.

This is our favourite site in France. I know that it is mostly British who stay here but the wonderful welcome we always receive from the British Owners and the spotless facilities and garden layout of the site more than make up for most of us speaking English! It is South of Saumur near the lovely town of Thouars and Airvault is a quaint town with all you need for a holiday. The area is still unspoilt and so prices in restaurants reflect this and offer wonderful food at amazing prices.
There is a small pool on site and as a there is an excellent storage facility available many people return time after time to enjoy the ambience and friendliness of this small (60 Touring Vans + 2-3 Statics) though perfectly formed very special place.
We are returning again next week and are prepared to travel from N.Ireland, through England and from Ostend to the site (about 1000 miles!) so I think that says more than any report I can write.
