If you are looking for a site with beautiful scenery and peace and quite then this is the place for you, we initially went for 3 days and ended up staying for 9 days. There is a lovely river that borders the site which helps to make the site so tranquil, There is a little shop on site which has all the essentials. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, there is not a toiler block on site, but this did not bother us as our caravan was well equipped. The site is very child friendly. Cogra Moss pond is only a 15 minute walk from the sire, which has beautiful views on the way up to it. We most certainly will be going back again in the near future.

Highly recommended, clean tidy site, wardens friendly and very helpful, red squirrels a bit fast for me to photo never mind nice to see them.
Plenty to do in the area if weather is good but rain is not too far away so keep your eyes open.If you go anywhere the best place not to be missed is Ravenglass, like going back in time, take away the cars and you are there, on the coast south of sellafield don't miss it.

Just returned from a 4 night stay over the BH weekend. Wardens on arrival very friendly and Trev was extremely helpful when the drain plug on the water pump split. He even tried to fix it temporarily but when this failed tracked us one down at a campsite about 15 miles away that sold accessories.
The site was very peaceful, clean and well kept - only negative was that a couple more water taps would have been useful. It was also within walking distance of three of the main lakes if like us you are able to undertake an average 7 mile or so round trip.
Wasdale was also within 40 min car journey so we went up Scafell as well. The shop at the site across the raod was useful for papers etc and the weather wasn't bad at all! A wonderful weekend and will certainly be returning to this lovely site.

A lovely little caravan park tucked into a quiet corner of the Lake District. We adored seeing the red squirrels everywhere. The pitches were good and well spaced, although a limited number of large ones to fit the longer caravan.
A shop was available at the caravan park across the road, compensating for the lack of shop on site. There was a lovely stream running through. No toilet block, but that's not a great problem if you're prepared for it. A site worth seeing!

Dockray Meadow is set in north-western part of the lake district and ideal if you are looking to get off the beaten track. Within driving or cycling distance are Loweswater, Ennerdale and Cogra Moss, all of which are well worth visiting. There are no toilet or shower facilities on site, but this was reflected in the cheap prices charged.

Fisherground Campsite - Eskdale
Nestling in the beautiful Eskdale Valley close to Scafell, England's highest mountain and Wastwater, this site is a children's paradise in the heart of the Lake District. The first thing that meets you on arrival is the pond, fed by a stream and usually full of children paddling and playing on tyre rafts. The playground has zip wires, climbing frames, tyre rope-swings and adventure courses.
Grass pitches (some with EHU) for tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans (no caravans). Refurbished toilets, showers and laundry. Peace is the watchword on the campsite - catering mainly for families and couples with silence after 10.30pm. Don't forget your marshmallows - campfires are allowed in selected areas. Nearby shop and pub. And there's an added extra: the site sits along the route of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway line, with it's own station. Choo Choo! Find out more here

Travelled to site from Northumberland and had a problem with Caravan Club route planner which took us right into Carlisle and directed us to the A7, but there were no signs for the A7 and we got lost. Coming back I just went on the A66 to penrith and up the M6. It was only a few miles longer but much easier and took the same amount of time. So if we ever go back there that's the way I'll go.
Site itself is very nice, quite small but pitches well spaced. Most pitches are wide, some very wide, but a lot of them are not very deep and so only a few pitches in the centre can take large caravans. The other thing to note is that the EHU bollards are quite widely spaced so you will need a long electric cable for some of them. They do have TV booster points on them but ours was too far away even for 12 metre coax extension cable.
When travelling to the site, once you turn off the A5086 near Lamplugh Tip pub, follow the signs for Inglenook caravan park and the entrance to Dockray is directly opposite that. There is a shop on site that sells eggs, cakes , ice creams and stuff like that.Nice farmers field for dog walking is just a few yards from site entrance. Entry is via a stile.
Weather was pretty awful while we were there (weekend of the 8/8) Went to Whitehaven on Sunday. Nice little marina, but just about everywhere was closed. It's the first seaside place claiming to be a destination for trips I've been to where you couldn't even get fish and chips on a Sunday afternoon. Once you've been there there's no particular reason to go back. St Bees is worth a visit, very attractive headland but the beach is pretty poor. Not desperately impressed by west Cumbrian coast, only worth going for the north lakes areas really.

Extremly well kept and run Parks. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. Very well located in the North west Lakes area great for exploring the Lakes and the Coastal towns in this quieter calmer part of the Lakes. The Local lakes well worth visiting completly unspoilt by human greed.
Red Squrriels on site a real delite to watch
Will most certainly be back many times.
Roads from the M6 at Penrith excellent a good run.

This is a beautiful and well kept site on the western edge of the lake district and handy for the fells. We received a warm and friendly welcome and found the pitches relatively flat and well positioned. The TV hook up was a bonus. The motorhome service point was excellent and the site has recycling. The site does not have a toilet block but there is a shop and other facilities on the Inglenook caravan site across the road. There is a bus service to outside the site to Cockermouth and a Sunday service runs to Buttermere. The local pub 'The Lamplugh Tip' has just been taken over by new owners and serves good local beer.
