Enjoyed a final stay at this great little site in the Western Lake District. Unfortunately, CAMC have decided to close the site - a real shame as so many of their other sites are now large, facility and crowded.
It’s in a brilliant location, has always given a friendly welcome and makes a great base for the hills.

What a great asset to the club this site is, when more and more members like us are staying at CLs and club sites with no toilet blocks with much reduced fees, £25 a night for August, not bad.
Our first time here and we would certainly have returned, but incredibly the club are closing the site at the end of this season.
The location is great in a quiet part of the Lake District, wonderful walks from the site, great dog exercise area on site, good drying room after a day in the rain.
The site was nearly full during our visit !

We try to visit this site 2 or 3 times a year.
It’s in a beautiful and remote area of the Western Lakes and an excellent base for Ennerdale, Wasdale and Buttermere.
Also very handy for the Cumbrian coastal areas.
Great site, immaculately maintained.

Excellent, quiet and peaceful site in a perfect location for the western Lake District.
Close to Ennerdale and Buttermere valleys, and well placed for coast and Wasdale.

Small, cosy site, no facilities (had to rate so given a 10) so lower rates.
Lovely couple of wardens. Dog exercise field contains agility course.
There is a holiday caravan site opposite with on-site shop.
Easy travel to coast, Whitehaven, Maryport, St. Bees and Ravenglas and Eskdale Railway.

Brilliant CMC site with minimal facilities.
Always a warm welcome and the site is in brilliant surroundings.
Very remote area of the Western Lakes - ideal base for Ennerdale, Wasdale, the coast and Loweswater.

We have stayed at this site many times as it makes a good base for the Western Lakes.
Excellent fell walks directly from the site and an easy drive to Ennerdale, Wasdale, Eskdale or the coast.
Looking forward to returning soon.

Excellent site which makes an excellent base for the Western Lakes.
Ennerdale and Loweswater are within a few miles and, travelling a little further, there is Buttermere, the coast and Wasdale.
No toilet or shower facilities so you need to be self-contained.
Cockermouth a short drive away - great little town.
