We have just returned from a 3 night stay at pandy. This being our first visit and will for sure not be our last. The site was as we always find caravan club sites, spotless, showers very hot, everything to the normal high standard, pitches large and well maintained, access simple, dog walk great, wardens very polite and helpful. I must add while we were at pandy a man was unfortunate to be taken ill and taken to hospital, it was noted that the warden emptied the waste water and replenished the fresh water for the poor lady whose husband was taken to hospital. This just goes to show how helpful and caring the wardens are, hats off to them. As for the railway it didn't bother us at all. Cant wait to return.

Hadn't been to this site for a number of years but it hasn't lost its charm. Friendly wardens, friendly caravanners, friendly pub just outside entrance with good beer and food. Close to tourist attractions such as Big Pit.
Site and pitch of a very good standard. Toilet block and showers up to caravan club standards.
Yes there is some noise from the trains but you should be aware of this when you book. We did not find it affected us in any negative way. We choose a pitch backing on to the river (furthest away from railway).

Just returned from a week away at this site. Pros - Site & facilities kept clean and tidy and up to Club standard. The Old Pandy Inn pub is approx 50 yds away from site entrance and does good pub grub and also takeaways. Cons - it is a few miles away from Abergavenny, which has a decent range of shops. (If you don't want to take car/motorhome into town, a bus stop is across the main road on right-hand side and the X4 bus will take you into Abergavenny and goes as far as Cardiff). Trainline next to site is quite busy and noisy and trains run sporadically throughout the night - no good for light sleepers!

We stayed there in August 2012 for the first time. Pandy is a superb example of a high quality Caravan Club site and the reason for being a member of the club.
First class facilities on a well kept site. High quality toilet block that is heated. Great pub at the entrance to the site which serves great food.
Dogs are welcome and a lovely dog walk by the river adds to the whole experience. I am pleased to say that all dogs were kept on leads (including our own) and this was accepted by all owners there.
I recommend it and will be returning.

Great little Caravan Club site. We used it as a stop-over on the way home to Cornwall so only stayed one night. Nice wardens, quick check in and good choice of pitches. We chose a nice big hardstanding with views of Skirrid.
One toilet/shower block accessed by code only. Spotless and plentiful as per normal with the CC. Fantastic dog walk along the river too.
Pub 5 minutes walk away - the Old Pandy Inn. Unfortunately it didn't quite meet our expectations. It didn't open until 6:30pm. The night we stayed it was tipping down and there were about 20 campers stood outside in the rain waiting for them to open at 6:40pm! Nice choice of food. It seemed reasonably priced until they added in all their extras on the bill. I was asked if I wanted salad or veg with my meal and was charged an extra £1. 50 for a salad garnish (rip off?!). The 'free' chips included in your meal price were the smallest portion I've ever had too! Nice friendly staff in there though.
We had a torrid night on site. The torrential rain started at 6pm and was still going at midnight. We stayed awake for most of the night worrying about the roar of the river and wondering if it was going to breach - thankfully it didn't.
All in all a lovely site for a stop-over for us.

Have stayed here a few times previously, visited this time on spur of the moment. Site is what you would expect from Caravan Club, excellent spotless amenities.
Site itself is very pretty and tranquillity spoilt only by passing trains. Hard standings are level and easily pegged should you use an awning. Plenty of animal and bird life around despite this though and we soon got used to the trains.
The Pandy Inn is close at hand and is dog friendly in the bar. Plenty of other Pubs around for a good meal. Would highly recommend the Bell just the other side of Abergaveny for a memorable meal, they too are dog friendly.
Plenty of great walking around the 'sugerloaf' and 'Kirrid' easily reachable from the site. Abergavenny has a good market on Tuesdays and lots of other events throughout the year.
Dog walk on site is bordered by the Rive Monnow which was in full spate and clearly dangerous for canine swimmers, this meant that the dogs had to be kept on a lead at all times. Warden recommends using the farm lane opposite site, but beware this is also open to the river, with the river in spate I would not recommend, especially if like us your dogs love to swim.
However it must be said that despite the torrential rain the site remained well drained and dried up within hours of the rain stopping. Will visit again very soon.
Only down side is site is quite a distance from local shops and site office did not seem to have much available in the way of supplies.

A nice site but as previously stated in reviews, the train line that runs right next to the site is very busy with commuter and freight trains and as it has been hot we have had our windows open, and they continually woke us as they run well past 2 am.
The Pandy Inn is round the corner, haven't tried the food because when we went at approx 5pm on a Wednesday he was closing. Only open all day Fri, Sat and Sun.
Nice and tidy site and if the warden seems to cut the grass every day

Having just returned from our 3rd stay at Pandy I can say that since our last visit in 2005 the site is much the same with the excellent site facilities that you come to expect from the Caravan Club.
The only change I could see are the addition of a few more Hardstanding pitches and some of the planted hedges are more established.
The Pandy Inn which is close to the site is a good place for a drink or bar lunch and the staff are friendly and the menu is pretty varied so worth a visit.
The site toilets and shower's were always clean even though the site was busy so top marks there to the wardens for there hard work.
The only slight negative point we could make is the adjoining train line which on our previous visit was only occasionally used 4-5 times a day by small commuter trains now appears to have heavy freight trains using it which on occasions were late at night, something to bear in mind if your a light sleeper

An excellent caravan club site, toilets are superb and kept immaculate. Easy access just off A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road. Level site with hardstandings and grass pitches.
Small stream on boundary, which may be fished. Dog walk from rear of site. Railway line close but train noise is not that intrusive.
Public house just outside site serving good meals and a hotel across the busy A465. Very handy for the Beacons National Park and Abergavenny.
There is a Tesco and Waitrose about six miles away in Abergavenny.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Site clean and green but very noisy with roaring trains very nearby - these happened once or twice in the night as well as in the day!
There is nothing in Pandy and the pubs described in the Caravan Club blurb are one local and quite a walk to the others.
If you are in a motorhome you will need to drive off the site to do anything except walk as there are no shops for at least 6 miles (Abergavenny).
Lovely area but isolated and the brochure underplays the train noise.
