We have just come back from a week on this site, we have visited many others on the island and this is certainly one I would return to.
The toilets/showerblock were very clean and having a laundry there was very useful. The field does have a slope to it but thinking about how and where you pitched overcame that. This year was the first year that every peg went straight into the ground with no rocks/stones to get in the way. Brilliant.
You have a choice from the pitches that were available and there were plenty of electric hook ups. Camp fires were allowed and the owners even had a stock ready of wood for you to burn which could be purchased from the main house.
Be aware of the bus service though as the last bus back from Ryde terminal is 6pm. However a taxi is quicker and cheaper than the bus and it takes you to the door.

Wonderful site, very helpful owners. I don't think I went into the toilet/shower block once during the week when it hadnt JUST been cleaned. Great for kids, nice and laid back with peacocks and chickens. A nicely stocked fishing lake added to the kids enjoyment. The owner was bending over backwards to help us when we arrived, as we had booked ehu, but he was concerned with the weather report being blustery and the only ehu was in an exposed pitch, so he lent us a long EHU extension enabling us to pitch near a hedgeline.
Wonderfully relaxing week had by all, byut near enough to a large tesco for supplies! the lady owner said that they don't book too many as she likes to leave enough space for all the kids to play together on the field.

I went to this campsite a couple of years ago and was welcomed by a very Isle of Wight type of person with a book full of biro scribble. He located our party after some time in the 'special book.'
Due to a slight discrepancy with the booking (meaning our party did not have exclusive use of a particular part of the site, as indicated during our telephone booking) we were a little disappointed.
It didn't really matter but I went to see the proprietor to see if they could make an amendment for us.

In my opinion this is a nice small site. Field does slope a little so think carefully about where to put your tent. Toilet block adequate, could have done with having loo rolls etc topped up more often but was fairly clean. Laundry room well sized and clean. Washing up shed however, needs knocking down and starting again.
Huge Tesco not far away for shopping. Nice pub about 10mins drive away too. The Folly. Good pub grub and right on the water too
The Isle of Wight has so much to do and none of it very far away. I would recommend Osbourne House for a great day out and it's only just up the road.

Stayed on this small, quiet site for a week.
Small, newish and clean shower block facilities for the sloping field. Campfires allowed off the ground and a limited number of braziers are provided for this.
Washing up facilities should be enhanced as there is only one sink in a wooden shed.
Woke up each morning to the sound of the cockerel followed by the peacock at first light.
IOW was a good break but as we ended up spending most time in south or west of island we ended up doing a lot of driving. That was obviously our fault for poor planning.

We had a fanastic time there. We wanted to visit a few places, but the nearby beach was so good that we ended up spending all the time there. The site is very good with clean facilities. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back!

We stayed there in the tipi's at the end of the summer holiday, the whole holiday was fantastic. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The tipi's were great all set up with everything you need beds, cooker, table, chairs, even carpeted and an electric point. What more could you want? We had a fire every night right outside the tipi's you can order fire wood cheaply that they bring down to. Clean showers and toiler block. Washing up facilities and launderette which was cheap. It was fantastic can't wait to go again.

I'm not sure I want to tell you about this site. If I keep it quiet then perhaps I'll get to keep it to myself. This is a lovely place run by lovely people. Living locally I may be biased about the surroundings! My friend and I took our kids for a weekend at the end of the summer holidays as the tourist season was coming to an end and it was perfect. Toasting marshmallows round the fire, peeping into the (unoccupied) tipis and chatting with the owner and his neighbour.
The facilities are excellent. A lovely clean shower block with toilets (£1 for a good long shower), washing up facilities and laundry. There is also a second area by the pond where more tipis are sited. Picnic benches are available for use and firewood for sale at a good price. The fires are in brazier type units and some have an accesory that makes it possible to cook over them.
I was already a convert to the campfire mode of camping. Now I doubt I'll go anywhere that doesn't have them.
Very highly recommended site. Peaceful and relaxing.

We enjoyed a long and sunny Easter weekend at Roebeck. The site was dry and reasonably flat at the top end. We were the first campers of the season so the toilet blocks had only just been opened. They were very clean and presentable. The shower uses £1 coins which will last for a good 12 mins. Mostly we enjoyed watching the rabbits at the bottom of the field and the ducks and geese that wondered around. There was a beautiful peacock and 2 peahens, doves, fish and a deaf dog! Bill the owner had a few funny stories to tell and Martin was always busy. We bought several large bags of logs for £3 each which kept our campfires going! Bill let us use his own garden swing and trampoline which the kids loved. He even let the kids (aged 2 and 4) have a go on the lawnmower and digger! All in all a pleasant stay.

If your wanting an economical and relaxing holiday have a look at this site. The company organised everything for me even the ferry. Its not exactly as you would expect a site to be ran, its first come first served to the best pitches, no distance restrictions, pretty much no restrictions at all. You can even have campfires. Once past that, the site looks out over rolling hills with it Tee Pee's nestled at the bottom of the site. The toilets are clean and adequate, dish washing facilities are however poor for you campers, being served by only 1 sink in a wooden shed with a small hand-washing heater for your warm water. The site is kept clean by Martin who works like an absolute trooper. If you like fishing the lake is well stocked with some excellent carp and many other species, I managed a 12lb common Carp on my sea fishing rod with a piece of bread, so no fancy gear needed. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 weeks there and will most definitely be re-visiting. Downers:- Rubbish bags just off the camping field, one of those large containers to hide it would be far better, there are no fire points so take your red buckets and extinguishers. Caravaner's take some blocks.
