The site. As one would expect from the CC. Immaculate. Well kept , clean , neat , tidy.
The location. On the beautiful Roseland peninsula. Great area for a holiday. Site however is nowhere near any amenities. Nearest shop is 2 miles or a small co-op (ex Spar) in St Mawes - 6 miles. Main road is not walkable unless you want to get injured. Beach 1 mile.
Negatives. The lower pitches don't get the sun and are in a dip. We booked in Feb yet the wardens told us that although they had our booking . They did not have a a pitch for us. They were afraid to open up pitches the head warden had closed as he would shout at them. We finally got them to open a pitch. We arrived at 17:00 which I thought was reasonable.
If you arrive after 12:00. Then you will not have a choice of pitch. We noticed arrivals as early at 08:30 !. Yes - they let them in.
We watched the head warden make folks move their vans (after legs down and pitching in) by as little as 4' so they were central on the hard standings.
Only family on site with kids pitched no where near the play park. First come first served. So they had no choice of pitch. Like us.
Summary . Great site, great location, dominant head warden. Will be writing to the CC !.

Again another well presented Caravan Club site. We arrived late due to the usual congestion round Bristol, but the warden was waiting for us and gave us a shortlist of pitches to choose from. We had a walk round then took one near the entrance to the top field, fairly close to the play area, handy for the children. Usual excellent facilities. Shop OK for a few basics.
Warden would amble round in the tractor when doing the maintenance, rather than rushing round with the engine revved up. A pleasant change and much quieter.
Local area in the Roseland peninsula appears to be a well kept secret, with little of the tourist chaos that can happen in Cornwall.
If you are at all nervous of driving down narrow lanes with passing places then the area is not for you. The 'A' road near the site being one of them.
St Mawes is well worth a visit, if a little sleepy. The ferry to Falmouth is good, but we didn't get enough time to fully explore Falmouth.
Local beaches are good, many having an honesty box for your £2 parking. The beaches being a mix of sandy and rock pools.
The area as whole is well worth a visit, with the site being family friendly, clean and tidy.

This is a really well maintained site with really well maintained toilet block / shower's and very friendly / helpful warden's. The dog walk is a fenced off field and dog's are allowed off the lead. The nearest sandy dog friendly beach is about 1 mile away but there are no other facilities on the beach. The small village of St Mawes is about 5 mile's away with a few pub's, restaurants, shop's, hotel, small spar shop. The nearest large supermarket (Tesco] 17 mls away at Truro which you can also travel to by ferry.

A lovely site, up to the usual high standards of the Caravan Club. One down side is that it's a little bit too far away from all the local attractions, but I guess that this may appeal to those just wanting a quiet, relaxing break. The wardens were very friendly indeed, amongst the best we've come across and kept the site in an immaculate condition. The tourist info point has all the usual brochures, a chip van visits the site once or twice a week. A strawberry seller also made an appearance while we were there as well. Basic groceries are available in the shop as well as papers, but these have to be pre-ordered. Use the ferry at Kings Head, if travelling further west, it costs £6.50 for a day return and will save you a lot of extra miles. Most of it through narrow roads. All in all, we gave it 8/10

July 2005 Access to this site is via a very narrow road which is controlled by traffic signals. The new arrivals area is spacious, Reception and staff very friendly. The site is combination of grass and gravel hardstandings. The toilet block is one of the best I've been to. Clean with new shower curtains, dishwashing area is excellent even with sponge/scourer provided at each sink. Reception has a good information room with tourist info packs.Reception provides foodstuffs & supplied hot baguettes on request! also there was a small paperback book library. A fish & chip van visits on a Tuesday and a butcher on Thursdays. A nice quiet site, although a little remote. At the top of the access road is a bus stop with routes to St Mawes & Truro, but it was a little infrequent
