The site is certainly all is cracked up to be. Everything is spotless, and Bill is a charming host. He is always coming round to check if everything is OK. What's more, he is patience personified when he takes the children to collect eggs from the hens, and gives them rides on the resident pony. He has provided the perfect campsite for families, with volleyball, football, table tennis, etc. The popularity of the central play area does bring its own problem, however, which is the noise that goes on until sunset which can make it tricky to get younger children down to sleep. On our visit there were kids out playing ball games until 10pm. We will certainly be coming back the next time we are in the New Forest.

Croft Cottage is the ideal family campsite, they don't come any better than this. The site is small, with only fifteen or so pitches, so booking is essential. But the pitches are quite large, and several have the option of electric hook up. Croft Cottage is a haven for children. Bill the owner has created his own ideal camp site for children. The pitches are arranged around the edge of the field and the centre is given over to children's activities. There is a football goal, volley ball and tennis nets, also basket ball hoops. Bill even provided a few balls when we were there! In the mornings Bill and his family take the children to look for the eggs his hens have laid, and Toby the pony provides rides as well. It is an amazing place, and we will certainly be returning. The location is ideal too, a few hundred metres from the New Forest, and just seventeen miles from endless sandy beaches. Travel twenty miles east and you can take the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth for a day out on the Isle of Wight. Bill and Helen are as friendly as it is possible to be, and I really cannot recommend this site highly enough. It is pretty much perfect.

We stayed for a week and had a fantastic time. We have 7 kids who enjoyed themselves mixing with the other children on the site, which is enclosed and safe. Bill let them (and me) ride Toby, the horse, who is very accommodating. The camp has a special family feel to it and we were able to relax and play games around the site in the evenings. Definitely worth another visit.

Have just returned from a fantastic weekend at this site. We shall certainly be back! If you want a small, quiet, family-friendly site this is for you. The toilets and shower were spotless and adequate for the size of site and the large site next door had all other facilities you might need. We all made new friends, including our dog who had a great time playing with Bill's dog! The only warning I would give is you might find your kids pestering you for their own pony once they've had a ride on Toby (Bill's pony)! I don't think my daughter has stopped talking about Toby since we got back.

We've just returned from what will probably be our last family camping trip of the year. What a great way to finish the season. If you have kids I would suggest that you give this small site a go. Bill the owner is great. He took all the kids on the site (about 20) each morning to find the eggs in the chicken runs and then walked each one around the paddock on his horse. Bill and his family even join everyone each evening for games etc.
The facilities are very clean and as a small site there is only the one loo for men and one for the ladies and one shared shower. The leaisure park next door has a Spar shop and larger shower rooms should you want to use them. Bill and Helen are obviosly eco friendly and there are seperate bins in the field for recycling different items. Nice touch. We will certainly be back next year.
