First time camping with a family of 5, pitched the tent by the beautiful river arrow and enjoyed the well mown field whilst the kiddies playing in the river arrow.
Kington was 5 mins walk away and had everything you required for camping.
Toilets and showers were ok and we never went without hot water. Will be going again. And a big thank you to 'seth' the grounds keeper who was always happy and a great help.
As this was our first camping trip as a family it was a very successful holiday and we enjoyed our stay here.

A very pleasant site in an interesting town (with some good pubs- try the Old Tavern at the far end of the town. )
The site is flat & well mowed & appears to be free of stones for your tent pegs.
Tents can go by the river which is lovely. Toilets are clean & well maintained with free hot water in the showers. Some might find the facilities slightly outdated but they are acceptable.
A good area for walking- try the walk up Hergest Ridge or bring your own bike.
We've been previously & will be going again.

Flat site with quite a few permanent caravans but an area for tents right by the River Arrow. Couple of loos and showers and 2 washing up sinks but nowhere to freeze ice packs - I kept my coolbox in the trees or in the river and that worked fairly well.
The site is next to the town's football field and a couple of nights there were matches on which was noisy but at other times generally quiet. Right next to Recreation Ground for kids to play but they did tend to ride their bikes all over the camp site.
As already said it is a short walk into Kington which is a pleasant town with butcher, baker, greengrocer and lots of tea rooms and Tourist Info. Plus the Co-op before you reach the town is open until 10 most days.
Great walking up on Hergest Ridge and Hergest Croft gardens are worth a visit as is Westonbury Mill Water Gardens. On the Black and White trail of picturesque villages.
Good value site at £6 per person in an interesting area. Recommended.

I camped here whilst walking the Offsa's Dyke Path. I would recommend this site, particularly as its near the town centre. It has a relaxed feel to it. There is a large, flat camping and caravan area which is well maintained.
Camping by the river at the bottom of the site is very nice and was free of midges when I was there, not like camping near some streams in other places. I was able to find a nice spot away from others.
There is a large clean toilet block with enough toilets, showers and basins to cater for campers on what was a Sunday night. Roger, who was looking after the site was very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely superb site. It is located in the village of Kington. From the site it takes about 3 minutes to walk into the village, but you wouldn't even know the village was there when you are on the site.
The site itself is well kept with spacious pitches. Most of the pitches are taken up by seasonal users so there is not too much caravan movement on most days. The river running through the site is lovely and there is a children's play area in the field next to the campsite, as well as football pitches and a cricket pitch.
The village has a mix of shops for all of your needs as well as a small museum. The Offa's Dyke path runs through the village and so there are always lots of walkers around.

I found the site to be level & nicely laid out, it has all the facilities for touring eg: electric hook ups showers, toilets & chemical disposal facilities. It also has the river arrow running around the outside. The site itself is 2 minutes walk into the village where there are a number of pubs, takeaways & also a chippy. I also found the locals to be very friendly & accommodating. I would certainly recommend this site to anyone touring.

A good site, conveniently located close to the centre of Kington. There are 8 pitches with EHU for tourers and there is an area for tents down near the river. The other pitches are seasonal. Toilets and showers are basic but clean with plenty of free hot water.
The site was relaxed, peaceful and friendly. It was a bit livelier on the weekend but it soon quietened down after dark.
The recreation and cricket ground next door is ideal for exercising the dog and has plenty of doggy bins around. The area is an excellent base for walking too. Close to Hergest Ridge and Offa’s Dyke Path. Within easy reach of Brecon and the Elan Valley to the west and Leominster and Hereford to the East.
Kington itself is full of character with a mixture of shops and friendly pubs. It is very dog friendly and it made a lovely change to be welcomed into some of the shops with our dog, instead of the usual window shopping. All the pubs we tried were dog friendly too, including the Royal Oak which serves good food and has a beer garden.
All in all, this is a great little campsite which we will be visiting again.

We stayed here over the Bank Holiday as a last moment booking. When we arrived we were greeted by the camp site owner who then asked us where we would like to pitch. This was great as I have never been given the choice before.
The campsite is fantastic, level pitched and all the facilities are good. Only a short walk to the town with plenty of old pubs and great ales. The town it self is lovely with plenty of character. At the top ot the town there is a very good Indian if you like that sort of thing. There is a Co-Op that is just around the corner from the camp site so if you forget anything then this is ideal.
Overall our little break was great, we hope to go back for Easter 2008.

A lovely peaceful site with the river Arrow running through it within a few minutes walk into the historic town of Kington. Level pitches with a few trees offering welcome shade. We found the shower and toilet block clean and tidy albeit basic but with plenty of free hot water. The washing up area is under cover but lacks sinks there being only one for washing up but there is a large sink for handwashing clothes (if you have a mind to) but with free hot water.
We stayed there in mid August arriving on the Thursday evening we found plenty of places to pitch. However, it did start filling up Friday evening/Saturday morning but never becoming overcrowded. With the recreation ground next door and the rural town of Kington offering everything and much more a good time was had by all. Within easy reach of Hereford, Leominster, Ludlow, Worcester, mid and south Wales.
