I would like to say this site was awful so that no-one else would come and we could always get a pitch! However, it was infact the most perfect spot we have found. No road noise or intrusive lighting just the birds and the sheep and views to die for.
Good points: as above plus reasonable charges £9.50 for a tourer with everything included. Secluded pitches flat with superb views on hardstand with room for awnings. Owner friendly who assists with pitching, dog friendly. 2 ladies loos, 2 mens loos +1 shower in each + 2 extra showers by sauna all very clean, heated, free hot water to washbasins (2 in each side). Laundrette, dishwash facilities for 20p, information stand and library + local walks sheets for only 10p. Excellent base for walking or touring Shropshire countryside.
Minus points: no food provisions nearby, nearest Church Stretton 4 miles away. Lanes very narrow on approach. Slight slope on camp field. Exposed to some very strong winds. Poor tv reception and on some mobile networks
Highly recommended for relaxing and unwinding.

We stayed at this site for a week in mid August. Most caravan pitches are very private and level but we wanted to stay next to our friends who were camping. We also wanted an electric hook up. The owner organised this for us and levelled the van as there is quite a slope at the top of the field. The views were the best that we have ever had, looking out over Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler Hill. There was tons of room - more than we've had on any certificated site. The kids loved having so much space to play. There were walks from the site and even better in the near vicinity from Church Stretton. The Pub in Cardington was an easy walk, sold a super range of local beers and had an excellent and reasonable menu including a wide and original vegetarian selection.
Facilities on site were good and clean and sufficient for the number that were there. We'd rate this as one of the very best sites we have ever visited. If you want space, peace and quiet & views this is for you. Oh, and I nearly forgot, unbelievable value for money. The only snag is the tow in along narrow lanes would not suit a nervous or inexperienced tower. But you can't have everything. You could always be enchanted with the place and just leave your caravan there!

We spent a most enjoyable week at this site. As it is a smallish site it is advisable to book during summer months and bank holidays. There are hard-standings for caravans with a grassed area for awnings These are individually surrounded by bushes and shrubs which give privacy. There is a large field for tents and extra caravans. There are showers and wash basins with free hot water, a laundrette and even a sauna if you really want to relax! There are also washing-up facilities. The owners are very friendly and the toilets etc. Were always clean. This site is in a very rural area of Shropshire with wonderful views and if you like walking there are several footpaths, rights of way directly from the site. You do need to plan in advance as the nearest shops are 5 miles away. However, the pub is only a short distance away! If you are looking to "get away from it all", this is definitely the site for you! We look forward to returning.

Just as all the other reviews have said,
PROS: Great views Owner very pleasant and helpful Basic toilets but clean Great local pub with great food Quiet site Good sized sauna (£5 an hour) Cheap pitch costs (£7 a night for a large tent)
CONS: No shops near by Slightly Sloping site for tents only 2 showers (1 per sex) 20p charge for hot washing up water (website states free)
Overall I would really recommend this site

Wonderful site, great to switch off and relax. Mr & Mrs Jones the owners are lovely and really helpful. The information room is great listing loads of different walks. Great for dogs as they can just run free in one of Mr Jones' fields. The toilet block is really clean and there's even a steam room! The roads are very narrow to the site so try and arrive after 1pm to avoid other caravans passing as its very difficult through the lanes. The Royal Oak in the village is ok for food, a bit pricey though and the landlady doesnt have the greatest welcome for you. Go to the supermarket first and stock up and you're guaranteed a perfect relaxing break!

Just got back from this site, approach very narrow for several miles! Owner helped to pitch us and then left us alone. Toilet block very basic, ladies shower not very clean, block did not appear to be cleaned during our stay which was over a weekend so may be it is only done during the week. Pitch was very secluded, we couldn't see any people watching, not conducive to neighbourly chatter, may be it was just the weather. Site is good base for exploring the beautiful countryside, and Bishops Castle is not far away. Would recommend only if you want a very quiet time and do not mind the basic facilities, there is a Sauna though for £5.00 per hour, instructions tell you to only use it for 10 mins at a time, seems expensive!

Have been to this site 3 times, always enjoy it. The owner is very helpful, will help you get the caravan in place if you need it, then he doesn't bother you after that. Facilities are fine just basic, but clean and the views are fab. Nice and quiet but great if you go with friends, take plenty of food and drink though, no nearby shops, which is fine if you are equipped. Would recommend it.

If you want beauty and simplicity in your campsite - then this is the place for you. If you want peace and quiet, and a good pub nearby - then this is definitely the place for you. If you want swimming pools, a shop and late night entertainment - then stay away! We loved it here, they take dogs, which is a bonus, I thought the showers and toilets were perfectly fine and you cannot beat it for views. Although there are no shops nearby, and it is not exactly next door to Church Stretton, the local pub had great food and very reasonably priced drinks. The owners are quiet, but very helpful. We would definitely return and would recommend it to others.

Phoned to book, owned seemed matter-of-fact but provided all relevant information. On arrival, owner was pleasant and took us to a large, slightly sloping field and suggested a relatively flat area in one corner.
Facilities o.k. For a fairly basic site although the showers (1 mens & 1 ladies) could do with a re-furb, but the 2 extra uni-sex showers were fine (all showers having free hot water). Charge of 20p for washing-up water (not free as per web-site).
For all future Church Stretton visitors - be aware that the Saturday we were there (9th July) was their 'beer-fest', which means most of the local pubs (including the village) do not serve food, causing us to resort to a take-away that evening.
Overall a very pleasant stay, and would certainly consider again if returning to the area.
