What a really great site, we went with 5 dogs and two teenagers and we all had a great time.
Boys didn't stop fishing, the pond is a haven for bird life, with the kingfisher darting in and out. The boys caught several carp and roach, and you don't have to pay extra to fish it.
The local village has everything you could want and the fish and chips are the best.Plenty of really nice walks for the dogs that are safe and away from the cliffs.
Everywhere on the site was very clean, tidy and quite. We will be going back we had such a good time

This is a basic campsite, that was fine for a night's stop over. Reading past reviews we thought this would be a peaceful stop.
Everyone else fails to mention the noise from the works unit next door. Loud music from 8. 00 - 5. 00 when we were there and the shouting of the workers above the banging of metal.
Lots of hot water and clean facilities, even flowers in the toilets. There were only a few caravans occupied when we were there so there was no waiting for the showers.
Compared to other sites we visited this was expensive and rather 'tired'.
Nearby Hartland village has a few shops. Visit Hartland manor and the quay, both are fabulous.

Stopped at this site after reading other reviews. The site is basic and functional and what we wanted. There is a separate field for camping if you don't want electric hook up and you can pitch where you like within reason.
We never had to queue for washing up or toilets and only occasionally for the showers, (which you have to hold the button pressed to make work which was a bit of a pain).
The site is fairly well sheltered as we had heavy rain and strong winds and survived.Just.
The location is lovely and nearby beaches are excellent.
Hartland Quay Hotel is great for food and beer with stunning views, but no dogs on the beach unfortunately. (We did the cliff walk which was stunning but scary with 2 dogs and 4 kids as the drops are exposed and sheer.
Free fishing in the pond was great for the kids. Local hardware shop sold rods for a fiver and barbless hooks which are required. Great value
Only real criticism of the site was that the owners dogs kept visiting our pitch and even weed on the body boards. Not nice.
Overall though very good and we would go back.

In a word - Excellent!
This secluded, unspoilt site is probably one of the best back to basics campsites we have stayed at - and its fantastic value for money
This is the place if you are looking for a rest and relaxation get away from it all holiday
The pitches are spacious and the two fields are divided by thick hedges, so you feel like you are actually in a very small field. Many of the piches have hookups which was really useful for our fridge and tent lighting
24 hour hot water in the toilets and showers block and a covered area for washing up etc are all included in the nightly cost
Coin op tumble dryer also in the laundry room - great cos the heavens opened for the 5 days we stayed
Owners are very friendly and even allowed us to pitch our smaller SIG tent alongside after our 12 year old girls had a 'spider freak-out' in the trailer tent
Hartland village is very quaint with local shops, a post office with cash machine inside, fish & chips, and some pubs. Bideford and Bude 13 miles either way for takeaways, big supermarkets, sandy beaches and history.
Nearby attractions include the Big Sheep which was an absolutely brilliant day out
Torrential rain for the whole week didn't spoil our holiday as it was the lovely site, beautiful countryside and coastline that made the holiday really special
We will definitely be visiting this site again

This is the fourth year we have visited this campsite. We love going along with our two dogs who are made as welcome as us as long as we clear up after them. The campsite is so spacious with plenty of slots for caravans or tents. The view is fab, you can see the sea and watch the sunset. There is a shower block and toilets with constant hot water. They have an easy to use washing machine and tumble dryer. There are facilities for caravan toilets. There is a sink/washing area for people in tents or for doing hand washing. The people who run the site are really friendly and helpful and put themselves out especially when we had a problem with our caravan.
The Village is about 3mins away and has 3 pubs, a cafe, farm shop, two village shops who sell everything, a vet and a doctors surgery who will see holiday makers
The surrounding area is perfect if you have dogs and some good walks without having to go by car.
The campsite is situated between Bude and Bideford and for children there is The Milky Way, a lovely beach at Westwood Ho and Bude. Atlantic Village for shopping and a Cadbury's shop! and plenty of places for Cream Teas. All the campers we have met have all been friendly and we have made quite a few friends
I could spend all the summer months there.

We stayed on this site for 5 nights. It was a quiet site when we visited, which we appreciated with 2 small children in our group. The site does not have a shop but as the village of Hartland is just a couple of minutes walk away this was not a problem. The shower and toilet block only has two showers / toilets in each side, which may be a problem if the site was busy. The showers are not state of the art but they do their job adequately, are free and there was plenty of hot water. They also benefited from having a shower door within the cubicle which meant you don’t have to struggle to keep clothes dry. The shower / toilet block was always clean. There is also a washing machine / tumble dryer on site.
I would certainly return to this site, the only thing that we could complain about was the weather, but unfortunately that’s out of the control of the campsite!

This is probably the best campsite I have ever visited!
The staff are very helpful (even let me change the brake pads on my car outside their office). Showers are free, hot and plenty of space in them. We were able to pitch our tent on level ground, well away from anyone else.
Campers/caravan people were very friendly. Family orientated site, and very very dog friendly. All the pubs except dogs as well!
The people in the village (two mins walk) were very helpful and extremely friendly.
Pubs were great, food was good, and beer was cold.
Big sheep was good and you can see the sea from the site just off in the distance.
My girl friend and I will definitely be returning with our dog this year!

This is one of my utmost favourite campsites. It's quiet, but has very good facilities, the toilet and shower block is immaculate, the washing up area is sheltered and the field is level with lots and lots of running around space. There are hookups and some hardstanding opitches. There is a fishing pond (with a gate if anyone is worried about little'uns going to it) and there is a barbecue area (albeit a bit overgrown). The best part is the lovely village of Hartland, which is stuck in the 60's, with a few pubs, a friendly post office, 2 fish and chip shops and some other shops. This is within a five minute walk of the campsite. The campsite is also in a good place for visiting Bideford, Bude, Hartland Quay and the Big Sheep! Well worth a visit as it is at the time of writing, little known!
