Spent a windy Easter weekend here and were well looked after. The owners helped people get on to the site in slippery conditions and made sure we were safe. Limited shower facilities at present but will be more soon. Excellent base for visiting the island which has many good eating places, interesting places to visit, galleries of art, pottery and wood work. Buses stop outside the site and travel around the island. People on the island very welcoming indeed.

The location of this site is beautiful with superb views. The site is in a small field next to a quiet road. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Facilities are good with heating in shower/toilet. There are some hard standing pitches. Dogs are to be walked off site but there are walks all around the area.

This is a fantastic campsite. Myself, my husband and our dog stayed here in our motor home for 3 nights. The site location is beautiful and surrounded by hills, a view of the sea and snow capped mountains in the distance. Great walks are all around and Blackwaterfoot is great for walks such as a visit to The Kings Caves. The small shop in this village is also very well equipped. The owners are very very friendly and cannot do enough to help with anything you might need. The shower and toilet room was spotless and very well furnished. The owners really have thought of small touches that make your stay here easy and comfortable. There is also a lovely play area for children which is nicely situated away from the pitches just enough to not be intrusive. We stayed in a few campsites in the island and this was my favourite. It's price is also incredibly reasonable. I would definitely come back again, a brilliant site.

We stayed here on a recent cycle camping trip around Arran. We had enquired and were told we didn't need to book. Although the site was full for vans there was plenty of room for small tents.
The site is immaculate, and we pitched on a flattish section a short stroll from the lovely toilet block. The owners were friendly and helpful, and we had a wonderful evening watching the sun set over the sea. Would definitely recommend this site, for location, on site facilities and value for money. Only negative is there is no pub / shop within easy walking distance but it's worth foregoing this for the wonderful peace and quite, and the beautiful surroundings.

What a fantastic little gem of a site! Absolutely what we were looking for. The campsite is very eco-friendly and immaculate, set in it's own tranquil grounds.
We sat outside in the evening and watched the sun go down whilst listening to a dusk chorus and watching Woodcocks fly over the site, beautiful.
The owners could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure you have what you need.
The site has a few hard standings and a few for tents, just the right size for maintaining some privacy and avoiding too much of the noise which I feel most of Arran's other campsites have.
The shower block is an amazing little mini-chalet with everything you need and the owners leave extras of shower gel and shampoo etc unlike many other pay-as -you- use type showers with nothing provided.
A little play area for children is great and the area has so many walks and things to see for the outdoors types.
It's a pleasant walk from Blackwaterfoot (great for night of dinner andpoub and a walk back to the site in the moonlight). We cycled in and back.
Close enough to walk to the shore, great for birdwatching, cycling, walking, exploring, and enjoy being away from the more predictable and commercial side of Arran and it's often copy-cat pubs.
We have already booked again and will be going back whenever we can. My favourite campsite by far!

We decided to go to Arran for a couple of reasons.
1) my wife wanted a trip down memory lane (35 years since visiting Arran)
2) I wanted a fishing trip and hadn't been before
On arrival no one was about but a note on the gate said pitch up if no one was about so no problem there.
What a lovely site, clean toilets, warm showers and very friendly and helpful hosts.
A small play area for children.
Dog friendly
Hook ups available
The area around is beautiful
Quite a big site for just a few pitches so plenty of room.
There are some hard standings available - we had one.
The owner even came to say goodbye.
Excellent!
We will go back.

Spent 2 nights here as a break on our trek round Arran. What a site, fantastic.
Not very flat but easy to find a level area for our tent, the owner has set up few level pitches but we found them too stony for our lightweight tent.
The site is surrounded with tall grass and wild flowers, very pretty but twilight brought about a midge swarm of biblical proportion, the owners sell Avon Skin So Soft which is what the locals use as midge repellent and it truly works.
The site was quiet, even though there was a hippy folk band strumming away, it just added to the serenity if the place.
We found the site ideally placed for the places of interest on the western side of the island, such as the Kings Caves and the Macrie Moor stone circles.
No shop on site, the nearest shops are in Blackwatersfoot a couple of miles away.
The shower/toilets were totally spotless and roomy. The owner has plans to build a pot washing area which is needed.
As for value, we were astonished to find the pricing structure was basically, pay for what you use. Really good. We paid for our pitch and a washroom key. The owner actually came to find us to give us a fiver back as she didn't realise we'd arrived on foot so no car parking fee! It worked out at less than three quid a night each. Brilliant.
I could wax lyrical over this site for hours, needless to say I recommend the place, just watch out for the midges!

Turned up here without booking on our first night on the Isle of Arran. As it was February we had no problem getting on, in fact we had the place to ourselves. The owner was extremely helpful sorting us out with water and electricity as soon as we arrived. She went out of her way to make sure everything was ok. The site is small and picturesque and on the outskirts of a small village called Shiskine in the south of Arran. The toilets and Shower area have been built within a large summer house and were extremely clean and spacious. Would highly recommend staying here.
