We have been returning to this charming site for a number of years now and we'll be visiting again in 2015.
Chris & Pete are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. The shower/toilet block is always immaculately clean. All the shopping you need is available in La Chataigneraie just a couple of miles from the site and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Quiet and peaceful, this site is ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The date shown on this post is the date of our first visit, and have been back a few times since and have booked to return again this year.
We originally used it as a stop over en route to the port from the south, however we were blown away by the tranquillity of the site, added together with the owners Chris and Pete hospitality, we just had to return.
We have been In August, May and April and last summer stayed for 6 weeks.
The site is set in the lovely French countryside of the Vendee, licensed for 6, in a huge meadow, which has a very gentle slope, which has no effect on pitching. In the summer when all the trees are in foliage it is not possible to see any roads and therefore any vehicles as the meadow is surrounded by other agricultural fields. All pitches have Electric and if you wish to pitch away from the points Pete will run out a temporary point for you.
Showers and Toilets, are set in a small block, always clean and I have never ever not had a hot shower even when the site is full there is always hot water.
Free wifi is provided, although it can be a bit slow when there a several on line, but then it is free, always been able to do everything I needed to.
As already stated Chris and Pete are fantastic hosts, always willing to help, and Chris provides a very good service wash facility.

A delightful site, extremely peaceful, for a get away from it all experience.
Very kind and helpful owners, and we keep returning.
Electric gets stretched so no access to microwaves etc
Excellent town facilities just 10 minutes away. We always travel with dog and have used the same Vet, again 10 minutes drive away, each time and they are brilliant. Carried out a small operation on him year before last with the minimum of problem and the maximum support.
A boulangerie in the village is good.
We use our own van facilities so cannot comment on toilet/shower facilities.
One hour to dog friendly beach, loads to do in the area, great walking.
If you can't cope without your stereo, please don't bother coming here and spoiling it for the rest of us.

We found this site last year and returned again because we liked it so much. It is large and very peaceful with clean toilet and shower facilities. A service wash is available on request.
The site tends to attract more mature couples who like to stay there for lengthy periods.
There is plenty of walking and site-seeing in the area - Chris and Pete are the ideal hosts with plenty of local knowledge.
La Chataigneraie has a good supermarket and all the facilities that you need for day to day living.
We look forward to returning again.

Having retired in May 2013 and wanting to take our caravan to France for the first time, we chose this site because it had English owners, the only reason being in case we had a problem with the van, and any language difficulties.
We had booked for two weeks, but as soon as we arrived we felt the warmth of welcome and sense of humour from Chris and Pete, the owners, and booked in for five weeks in all. We also booked before we left for 2014.
During our stay, we cycled, walked and drove to the numerous places of interest in the region and we still have places to visit this year.
The facilities are clean, and service washes are available on site.
It's a 2 minute drive for the bread, and a 10 minute drive to the supermarkets.
All in all if you want a quiet, country with lovely sunsets, this is the place to go.

I have used this site for many years and last reviewed it in 2009 and try to visit it twice each year. It is a site that is a haven of peace. This remains true even more in 2011 and the further maturity over years has made it all the more attractive, the bird song is quite delightful. It is a basic CL with full immaculate toilet facilities. However the Electric hook up is basic and amperage available depends on the number of units connected from 4 amps if all pitches in use to 16 amps when only one!
The site has very friendly English owners and nothing is too much trouble for them. Washing is clothes is available by arrangement. There are many interesting visits around and it is only 1 hour from the sea.
