 We have stayed at this site for the last 2 years and will be returning again this year. It is a lovely quiet site and the English owners, Peter and Shelagh cannot do enough to help. There is a heated swimming pool and a small play area for the kids. They have limited provisions in the office, although plenty of icecreams. The village of Mache has a tabac, a bar, a convenience store and a patisserie all within 2 minutes walk so there isn't really much need to provide groceries on site.
The shower block/toilet block is spotless and is cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day. I vaguely remember that it has won an award for cleanliness. The only downside is that it is mixed shower / toilet block. It takes a bit of time to get used to but after a few days no-one seems to care. The washing up facilities are covered and are adequate and there is a separate area for handwashing and the use of a washing machine. Shelagh will personally load and unload the machine for you whilst you go out for the day.
We have always enjoyed our holidays at Val de Vie, which is why we go back each year. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area too. However, this isn't the site to go to if you want evening entertainment and buzzing nightlife. Life is much quieter there, thankfully.
