What a perfect campsite!
We booked to stay at this site, with our Touring Caravan, based on reviews we had read on various Review Sites, definitely not disappointed. The welcome from the reception staff was first class and they could not have been more helpful if they tried. They directed us to our pitch which was more than big enough for our unit, water and waste on each pitch made life very easy. The site itself was immaculate, the WC's, showers and washing up areas were always clean and there was always plenty of hot water. As stated by previous reviewers, the pool opening times were bizarre, but the reasons for this were fully explained by the reception staff which made for good PR.
This site seems well suited to adults, although children are made more than welcome. If you have a family you may wish to consider the sister site, Camping De La Baie, which is only 100 metres or so from this site and would appear to cater more for families.
Both sites share common Bar, Restaurant, shop and take-away facilities, which are located on the nearby beach, about 100 metres away. The Restaurant/Bar, Aux Terrasses De La Plage, offers a good selection of food and has quite a varied menu which we found good value for money. The real attaraction of this particular Restaurant/Bar is its location, overlooking a beautiful sweeping white sandy beach, where you can sit on one of its terraces and sip a refreshing cool drink, just watching the world go by.
The site is conveniently located for all the nearby Tourist Attractions and there is also a reasonably sized Super you just outside Carnac, a 10 minute drive away.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this site and the area generally and we will be considering Camping De La Plage again for next year.
POINTS TO NOTE IF USING A SAT NAV AND TOWING A CARAVAN
After passing the sign for 'La Trinite Sur Mer' continue on to the first set of Traffic Lights. Follow the Road Signs for 'CAMPINGS'. At the next set of Traffic Lights, your Sat Nav may indicate to go straight on, DON'T! the road is not suitable for towing a large caravan. Instead bear right and follow the Road Signs for 'La Baie' & 'La Plage' After approximately 150 - 200 metres, turn left, again following the signs for 'La Baie' & 'La Plage' Keep following the signs for approximately 1 mile to find the site on your right.
The entrance is very tight, see my photos, and it may be prudent to keep on to the next mini roundabout approx. 50 metres down the road, where you can turn around to create a wider turning arc to enter the site.
Another point to note about Camping De La Plage, it has a one way system so you have to leave via a set of gates near the bottom of the site. This exit leads onto a narrow lane and is quite restrictive for large units, so you would have to be very vigilant when leaving, so as not to catch the rear right hand side of your caravan when turning left into the lane.

The perfect site ! Everything was perfect, the staff, the well manicured pitches and hedges (what topiary), the pitch sizes, the toilets and showers, the pool, the free wifi. Then there was the excellent restaurant right on the beautiful beach, good prices, good site shop and all friendly staff throughout. Set in idyllic peninsular with lovely walks around it on sandy wooded paths that take you into town close by. Walk the town as delightful little lanes. Also close to all the ancient monoliths, dolmens etc. Oh and yes I would certainly go again. Stopped at 12 sites in France and this was the best. Something for all ages. At 22. 6Euro a night worth every penny.

We stayed here in early June during very inclement weather. Our pitch area remained well drained as did all of the others that we passed. The roadways never had puddles which can be a problem on some sites.
The receptionist was very polite and we were given a map which clearly showed our location. The pitch was very private with 5ft high well tended hedges all around. We had our own water tap. The electrical outlet was by the roadway so we had to run our lead beside the neighbouring pitch but this wasn't a problem.
This is a fairly small site therefore all amenities were within 2 minutes walk. The toilets, showers and domestic cleaning areas were always well maintained.
There is no bar or restaurant on site but there is a bar/restaurant and shop just outside the back gate. The shop sells a wide range of produce and many camping related items such as gas canisters and pegs etc. The bar is open from early till late and has a good snack menu and a wide variety of drinks.
The rear gate opens onto the dunes that border the beach so it couldn't be any more convenient. The beach is white sand and is bordered at each end by rocks.
Both Carnac and Trinite sur Mer are close and have numerous restaurants to suit all pockets. Seafood is unsurprisingly a speciality of most but the menus are broadly varied. Both towns are very attractive in themselves and Trinite, with it's marina and numerous boats, was our favourite.
We will definitely visit this area again and we will stay at Camping de la Plage when we do.

Having been one of the first to review this site it was lovely to go back again in late August, the first time out for us without kids and not in a huge tent but basic camping in out VW van.
The site was about to close and so it was everything on shutdown.
It was just as lovely as we remembered it, nice pitches, everything spotless and very friendly staff.
We had a meal in the nearby restaurant which was OK as opposed to brilliant, but sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down as the sea crashed on to the beach was magical.
We really love this site and even though we now have a house about 40 minutes drive away we will continue to go there.

We loved this site. At first when we arrived we thought the pitches were a bit small, but we got used to it and it helped that we were there in late August so there was empty pitches for the kids to run around on. They have a map of the site with pitch numbers marked up available on their website- it might be worth studying this when making a booking.
The site is situated in a quiet upmarket residential area in between Trinite and Carnac. There is plenty to do in the area, including great markets to explore (try the Witches crepe stall if you can find it!). My husband and son hired bikes from the campsite and rode out to see the standing stones.
The best thing is the beach which is just across the sand dunes at the back of the site - its a beautiful white sand beach in a sheltered cove, the sea was warm and there were plenty of rock pools. It was a 5 minute walk down the beach to get bread and croissants for breakfast in the morning - a great way to start the day. There is also a nice restaurant overlooking the bay and a take away. For us the great beach made up for the small pool area which was closed in the middle of the day due to the noise disturbing the neighbouring houses.
We found the site to be quiet at night, the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English, and the toilet and shower block were very clean.
We were very lucky to have a week of warm sunny weather - we were told it had been a rainy summer-the only downside was that the warm weather brought out the mosquitos and we were all bitten quite badly, so bring lots of repellant and after bite antihistamine.
The site is good value in second half of August - the prices drop considerably.
Overall I recommend this site, especially for families with young children.

Just returned from a week's holiday here and loved it.
Slight downside was size of pitch, we had told them the size of the tent, car and kitchen tent and it was a bit of a squash to get everything on but we managed it, although we didn't have much space for sitting around outside.
Overall though we liked it so much we are planning on going back next year. Staff very friendly, even when we'd blown the electric by using our kettle, they upgraded the box somehow by lending us some kind of adaptor?!
Just 30 seconds walk from the pitch to the beach where we had breakfast which was fetched fresh from the shop every morning. We tried the take-away a couple of nights too which was also very good.
All facilities spotless, it rained a fair bit, but the site drains really well.
I just wish the night-warden had wandered round a bit more as there were some others on site making a lot of noise very late at night, but it did only happen a couple of times.
There is a lovely coastal walk from the site to the village of Trinite sur la Mer where you come across some wonderful deserted beaches.
Vannes is not far away and Carnac is very close. The shop on site was adequate, but if you needed more there is a Super-U on the way to Carnac which just takes minutes to get to.

Just returned from a lovely week at this campsite. My family consist of my husband, 4yrs and 2yrs old children and myself. The pitch was plenty big enough for our 4 man tent. It's a quiet campsite which is ideal for young children. The toilets and shower blocks are kept clean, every time I wandered over there the lady was cleaning them. There is a room with three baby baths which was idea for our 2 yr old. We arrived too early in the season for the children's entertainment. I think it starts early July. The swimming pool is suppose to be heated, but the day we went for a swim we found it a little cold, but I don't think the weather helped to warm it up. The pool is closed between 12 - 3pm we were told of this when we check in, but they did allow us to play crazy golf free of charge during this time. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful.
We attended a welcome drink on the Monday and was told what activities were taking place that week. We went on the road train which stopped outside the campsite gates and took us round the megaliths in Carnac and through La Trinite. It's a 15 min walk into La Trinite from the campsite and there is a supermarket that is much cheaper than the one near the site. The beaches are beautiful, my husband and son loved the rockpools and kept bring back crabs to show me. We would definitely stay at this site again 10/10!

Just had a lovely week here. There were a couple of minor issues with the static on arrival (a blocked shower drain and no gas) but both were sorted out very quickly by the staff who were always friendly and helpful whenever needed.
The pool is nice but not that big and tends to get 'taken over' by boisterous teenagers in the afternoon although there is a separate shallow area for young children. The beach is literally at the back of the site and great for visiting either during the day or for evening walks. The site shop and bar are not actually on the site but are only a couple of minutes walk away between this site and their sister site La Baie. We didn't use the bar but the shop stocked all of the basics and was especially good fpor fresh bread and croissants. Carnac is good for eating out with a wide choice of places to go although many were a bit pricey. Vannes is also a nice town with a lovely harbour and medieval area.
Although we had torrential rain a couple of times whilst we were there the site drains very well and there were no muddy areas.
All in all a good site although if you are camping with a family tent make sure you get a pitch big enough for your tent as there were differing sizes of pitches.

We had a wonderful 12 night holiday here and would definitely return. The kids (aged 7 and 3) loved it, small pool with slides suitable for both ages - pool shut between 12 and 3 but we knew that before we went so it didn't cause us a problem. Shower blocks were kept clean and never had to queue - one block is much newer than the other but both were to a good standard. Would endorse one of the other reviewers below - we tried the showers near the dog shower - they're great with inclusive sink and more space - ideal if showering with kids. The playground is smaller than at the sister site (La Baie) along the road so we went there sometimes for a change. The site is right next to the beach with good (flat!) traffic free cycling available directly from the campsite.
The area is lovely - lots to do, we'd recommend the petit train tour(picks up from campsite on Sunday evening), the foret adrenaline tree climbing (from age 2 upwards),a day out in Vannes and shellfish collecting at Plage Men Du (next beach along). The kids club was popular with my 7 year old - she tried both Sharkys and Sardines and enjoyed both.
There was some entertainment in the evening but overall it's a lovely quiet site - no bar, no rowdy people! We took a large 8 man tent, car, trailer, airer, swingball, bikes (you name it, we took it) and we fitted everything onto our pitch. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable re pitch sizes so worth a phone call to check your pitch size before you book. The shop nearby sells a basic range of food but you couldn't survive just on what they sell (very limited fresh fruit/veg, no fresh meat) although it's perfect for fresh bread, croissants, milk, eggs etc. We only take a cool box (no fridge or EHU) and ice packs were available to hire or they'll freeze your own for you on site. The nearest supermarket was only about 5 minutes drive away or an easy cycle ride. We're already thinking about booking for 2011 !

Just spent a week at this campsite and absolutely loved it. The toilets and showers and washing up facilities were spotless. The cleaning staff were always in and out checking hygiene. The beach is a stones throw away. The pitches were a little on the small side for our liking (we have a 6 berth Amazon 600 tent), but pretty private.
The bar is a short walk (5 mins) up the beach and the bakery is next door for early morning bread and croissants.
If you have a dog this is the place for you. Our dog was allowed everywhere we were. In all the restaurants and bars in both Carnac and Trinite Sur Mer. She was even offered a plate of food in the Carnac restaurant we visited. The charcuterie in Carnac is also well worth a visit. The range of fresh food available is fabulous. Give the restaurant called Le Quay in Trinitie a look. There daily specials are knock out and the walk into Trinitie only takes about 10 mins. Ask the campsite owner to point out the short-cut to town.
If you’re planning on getting out and about, give Auray town a whirl and head for Saint Goustan. It’s really stunning.
