 I was enchanted by my weekend stay at Pier Cottage last October. The location is beautiful, the pitches are lovely and private, the facilities clean and basic as I like them, the site is small and the staff warm and hospitable. The surrounding scenery is stunning, we enjoyed perfect autumn bright, dry days. There are (slightly pricey) places to eat good food and drink good beer in Coniston, a short walk away. We took a cruise on S.Y. Gondola. It was a treat indeed and we look forward to our return visit this month.

Nice site right next to the Lake. Ten or so pitches in little wooded enclosures which hamper the view. Pitches a bit muddy but hardcore underneath so not too bad.
No hook ups but an electric point is available next to reception for charging batteries etc.
Ten minute walk into Coniston and a little path leads to the pierheads in 5 minutes.
The launches on the lake including the steam gondola are docked at night at the Pier on the site.
Nice and quiet with lots of walking opportunities nearby.
Might be a bit tight for large units.
