The owners Kerry and Dave were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The shower blocks and toilets were brand new for this season and my wife said the ladies shower / toilet block was beautiful. The showers are free and hot and for the ladies there is a hairdryer which is coin operated.
The site consists of several areas all of which are individual, there are tipees, cowboy huts (which are brand new for the season). A camping area and of course an area for the touring caravans / motorhomes.
For anyone bringing their dogs there is a lovely walk a few hundred yards away. Scarborough town and beach is just a few minutes drive. The fees are very reasonable,
The site is very peaceful and pretty and very unique with the cowboy and indian theme going on, great for the kids. We will definitely be returning next month for another wonderful holiday at Pinewood.

Stayed here for a week beginning of March. Good points, the site is convenient for Scarborough and the owners are friendly.
The charge for electricity is by card purchased from the owner, we were charged £5 for less than 24 hours and so used gas all week. The toilet block was unheated, the door is fastened open all the time and so rapidly fills with leaves which went uncleaned from Friday till Tuesday. It is 50p for a shower, the water is hot. The hardstanding pitches are not level and made from unwashed limestone chippings which means continually trailing limestone dust into van. It appears that trees have recently been felled in the hardstanding area and lots of brushwood and sawdust are evident, again trailing into caravan.
Overall, enjoyed week in Scarborough

Just returned from 2 nights at this site. We stayed in a tent so were put on the front field, and it sounded like we had pitched on the motorway services, as the traffic on the A170 that runs past the site was alost non stop.
Whilst the site is in a good location for Scarborough, it is only really suitable as a base, not the sort of place you would go to sit and relax on site because of the traffic noise. If you are in the tipis I'm sure the traffic noise wouldn't be as noticeable as they are further back and surrounded by the trees.
The tipis looked really nice and cosy, and I would like to revisit and stay in one of them. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy, although there seemed to be a problem in the mens as it looked like it was constantly flooded.
No washing up sink, which would be a nice extra.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in one of the 'modern tipis', and it was a great experience. The tipi itself was bigger than we expected, and was nicely set out with futons and a small table. The wood burning stove was very welcome when the temperature dropped at night, it really does heat the whole tipi and keeps it warm for a few hours. The crates of wood that you can buy from the owners are brilliant value for money at £3.00 each. You get kindling, logs and firelighters, enough to last you through the night with some to spare.
We turned up an hour early, and with surfboards and bikes, and were able to get in to our tipi straight away and the owners were kind enough to let us lock our bikes and boards in their barn, and let us get to them whenever we wanted.
The toilets and showers were very clean and the showers were hot! The area the tipi's were in was brilliant for kids, with the woods to play in and as no cars are allowed within the tipi area we didn't have to worry about him getting run over! The tipi's are now on their own individual decked areas, which seemed warmer compared to sleeping on the floor in a normal tent!
You can walk into scarborough from this campsite, but if like us, you have a young child with you, it may be a ltiile bit too far, we walked in and got a taxi back!
We will def be booking to stay here again, it was brilliant value for money, and so good to see that some people don't feel the need to triple their prices in the school holidays!
The campsite is great and the owners couldn't have been more helpful.

Fantastic site , cheap and clean! We have stayed at pinewood twice now and will definitely be returning year after year. Great location only 20 mins walk into Scarborough. And a taxi @ £6 to get back! Fantastic quiet site not a lot of kids which suits us fine! Owners Dave and Kerry are great people very friendly and even re froze our Cooler cubes. The field is never over packed plenty of room for your tent and car. I will definitely Recommend them to anyone !

We have just got back from five night stay at pinewood. We were welcomed on site by the owners who showed us to our tipi and explained where everything was. We booked a large tipi, it was great, bigger than they look on their website, there was plenty of room for myself and partner and three children. The tipi's are erected on wooden decking, you have a picnic bench and chimnea. The toilets were clean and showers were hot and free (and they are planning to extend the shower area). The kids had a great time playing with other children and we took skipping ropes, bats and balls etc, so they had plenty to play with. The camp is in a great location, it is a short drive (or good walk) to Scarborough beach / town centre. Would highly recommend and would love to go back again soon!

We stayed over the May Bank Holiday with our two small children. The site is very pretty and would suit couples as there is nothing for the children to do. The owners are very friendly and have made many improvements to the shower and toilet block. The main problem is there is nowhere to do your washing up and no plug sockets for the ladies to dry their hair. Other than that it is a good site.

We stayed at Pinewood over the Easter break. We booked for me and my husband with 2 dogs. We arrived on Thursday lunch, we were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming owner. We paid just about £15 a night which included awning and electric hook up (dogs no charge). This is really the cheapest around, over Easter, their policy is not to put up prices over peak times which I feel is very commendable.
The new toilet block had just opened, 2 extra showers ( free, clean, practical and hot). 2 toilets.
The site is very pretty, clean and spaced out. I would definitely return again.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and paid £10 per night (very cheap) and we were put in the field next to the main campsite (on the web this is the playing field). Although the site was in the middle of no where it is next to a main road which we found quite noisy.
They have a good recycling area and ask you to water their plants with your dirty water. The pitches are of good size and you are allowed to park your car next to your tent.
The toilet block has two loo's (one has a small hand basin inside)a sink in the main area and one shower room. They plan to expand the toilet block which I do think is needed as we noticed a few areas that could be improved IE lockable toilet roll holders as within a hour of the loo's being cleaned and restocked most of the toilet rolls had gone. There was only one hand sink in one loo so you had to use the main sink which sometimes had people washing their pots in,a couple of hand dryers as there was no where to dry your hands and the final thing was the shower room was nice and big with its own changing area but you have to put 50p in a meter box for 7 Min's of hot water but the box was outside the shower room in the main area and you could only put one 50p in at a time which means you had to take someone with you to put another coin in (most women take more than 7 Min's to shower) the box would be better in the same room.
The owners are friendly and it would be nice to go back to see the campsite when the improvements they plan to make are done.

We stayed in a tipi at Pinewood. During our stay it rained heavily one day whilst we were out in Scarborough, on our return to the tipi we found that all our sleeping bags and things inside the tipi were soaking wet, we had no choice but to return home after only 2 nights stay when we had paid for 4 nights. We had a word with the owner before we left who said they would sort something out and be in touch with us as yet we have heard nothing.
On the site itself there is only 1 toilet/shower block comprising of 2 toilets and 1 shower which is unisex, the pot wash sink is also in the toilet block, again there is only one sink with no hot water to it so to wash up you need to boil a kettle and take it with you. The shower costs 50p for 7 minutes and if you require longer you must come out of the shower to put in another 50p when the first is finished, then even on the hottest setting the shower is cold.
