We spent two nights here on our way down into Cornwall. We were in our old Volswagen Camper 'Vera'. It wasn't busy at all on our arrival as the children had returned to school. We drove into the farm yard not sure of how to 'book in'. We finally found a very accommodating young man who showed us where we could pitch. There are no hard-standings and the field is slightly sloping, so chocks/ramps are a necessity if you have a camper.
We then took a drive into Bude where we found some great shops - it has everything you need there! Everything looked clean, even the beach.
On our return to Atlantic we discovered Tess who is a lovely friendly farm dog who appears to enjoy company.
We explored the site and had a look at the Surf Pods with the sumptuous bathroom they have provided. We decided that it looked a little like a 'Telly Tubby' village! Kids would absolutely love it. There were also animals to look at - hens, bantams, geese, a turkey, and what we think were alpacas.
We found the American Diner but as it was late in the season it was closed. We also had a look in the shop which stocked the basics.
We were given a map to show the best way to walk into Bude (avoiding having to walk along the busy main road). You take a right out of the site, go through the Business Park and down into the town. This took us a good half hour to get right into the town, but it was all down-hill. It was taxi back up for about £6 if my memory serves me right (old age is creeping on).
The toilets were adequate and there was plenty of hot water in the showers and wash-up area. There were solar lights in the toilets which were OKish, but when you camp you should always have a decent torch. These facilities are made out of rough wood and blend in well with the rural feeling. If you want posh, heated facilities, then these will not be for you (not including the amazing bathroom for the Pods!) but as previously said, they do the job. Waste disposal and fresh water is also available.
The only criticism we have is that it would be easier for first time visitors if there were some clearer signs directing them to the reception area.
We will certainly return.

We stayed at Atlantic for 6 nights, we would have done 8, but the weather forecast for the weekend was awful and so we decided to leave early.
We did have some heavy down pours, but the site dried and drained very quickly.
The site was easy to find, straight off the main A39 between the two turnings for Bude.
The entrance road is tarmacked, then you get to a left fork where you turn for the camping field. This is a gravel road, but well maintained.
When we arrived there was a rally in the upper half of the field which had churned up the entrance and the path up the filed. I drove straight on and parked at the bottom.
I left my wife and daughter with the trailer and car and went to find someone to see where I should pitch, there were a lot of people working on the farm side of things and I was soon with the owner. She came back with me and we had actually parked on our pitch (lucky eh!).
Each pitch had a railed fence along side it where we hung our wet suits and towels to dry which was the length of the pitch, which was a decent size.
The site was full, but it never seemed crowded. The farm and site guys worked tirelessly to keep the thoroughfare clear through the site by putting straw and later bark chippings down.
As we were the first pitch and at the bottom of the hill (The site is on a slight slope, but nothing to worry about). We only had a few seconds walk to the toilet and showers.
This is the only down side to the site. There are no lights in either except for one toilet and one shower have a solar light which is dull at night. They were cleaned regularly, but with the mud from the road and field this was a battle for the staff.
I also found that the showers were awkward when you wanted to put you clothing somewhere as they only had one peg and this was in the shower with you, some showers had a separating partition with the peg on the rear also the jet reached my shoes which were near the door.
The toilets had no mirror to shave inside, but there was one on the wall outside.
But like I said the toilets aside in this location it's a nice place.
The showers are free and there was always hot water. The showers stopped working once while I was in, I asked one of the guys on site who sorted it straight away, it was a stuck float in a water tank at the side of the shower sheds.
The staff work tirelessly, cleaning, cutting the grass etc.
We went in the dinner for a milk shake, nice for a treat, but a little pricey for every day.
The camping pods looked nice as well.
We walked into Bude which is around 20 to 30 minutes max (5min by car), once out of the site turn left then right and just follow the road. There is no path for around a mile and you need to take a torch.
We ate at a curry house facing the golf course which I can recommend and there are some nice cafe restaurants in Bude.
Budes good for surfing, we hired boards from the shop on the carpark at the beach, £5 for half a day.
There are life guards on so you can feel safer while out with the kids.
Lots to see and do around there, can cost a bit if the weather turns bad but that seems to be England.

I have just returned from a wonderful week here. On arrival being a single Mum I found it difficult to pitch, however the site owner Peter was more than happy to help.
The site is lovely, toilet and shower facilities were being updated and expanded whilst I was on-site, however not to detriment to the stay. Shower always warm and toilet cleaned daily and kept well.
Away from site 'Widemouth Bay' is a great place for the kids, park up the top for free on the 'National Trust' carpark around 500 yards from the £4. 50 a day parking.
Bude itself was wonderful as usual and if you want a great meal at a low price the 'Tasty Plaice' is the place to go, had a great pizza for £2. 99 and my daughter enjoyed the food also.
Just beyond Sainsbury's down the road is another great beach 'Crooklet's. With it's own daily filled sea 'pool'. Excellent as can be swam in with no waves and plenty of side area to catch crabs.
Can't rate Bude enough, the site will be returned to very soon also for the lovely welcome and relaxed atmosphere. A little gem may it stay that way.

Stayed at this site for a few days last week. It is spacious and has a very laid back feel. People were friendly and the playground was small but good. The American diner was good too.
However, the toilet and washing facilities are very basic - clean, but there was no toilet paper or soap provided - this would have been useful to know before hand! Also, the only place to put anything in the shower was on 4 screws high up on the back of the door - if you couldn't reach these or things fell off they got wet and muddy, so take a big waterproof bag!
Although there is a 'farm shop' on site, it very rarely seemed to have anyone serving in it and sold some bits of food but mostly shells.
The owners were certainly not intrusive - in fact it wasn't that easy to track them down and there was no reception area where you could find them. Its just off A39 so you can just hear some traffic noise but it wasn't intrusive and actually couldn't hear it inside the van.
Having said all that, if you like a more basic site and don't want to pay too much, it is in a good location and does seem very laid back.

I was seeing friends locally and took the opportunity to spend a couple of nights camping. I ended up at Atlantic.
The owner was friendly and the Site was clean and tidy. The facilities were a little basic for my liking but they were clean and were fair for the price I paid to camp.
There was a small shop on store but as I out most of the days I had no need to use it.
The park was around a 30 min walk from Bude which was great.
I would return

Excellent site, close to beach. Quiet family site with well stocked shop, friendly owners. It has a great child's play area and an area for ball games. We went with two dogs, two kids and a motorhome with electric hook up £19 a night.
Toilets, shower and wash up area all clean. I didn't have great water pressure in the shower but not a big problem - might have just been a busy time of day.
If I was being picky, it would be nice to have a dog walking area, but again, not a big problem. Dogs are allowed on the beach on a lead. Bude centre and beach about 1. 25 miles away - you can cycle but take a back route to avoid the busy road. We'll definitely be going back.

Ok - I kind of don't want to give this place a good review because I don't want all you lot hogging it next time I want to go to Bude.
BUT
Its FAB!
There were 9 of us in total in our 'group' - from teenagers to 40's and all of us give this site a top star review.
The fact there was only 2 loo's meant an occasional wait in the mornings when everyone was getting up - and we had to wait sometimes to use the washing sink for our plates, but otherwise they were kept very clean - even supplied a toilet brush and disinfectant for the loos!
The shower was a bit temperamental, during busy times it was tepid as opposed to warm, but if you got in first or waited until later then it was a reasonable wash.
It was very peaceful there- discounting the hilarious donkey who was a great chatterbox, the geese, cockrel and other chatty beasts - so if you don't like early animal noises (not including the tent next door haha) then it a big no no as the animals were great as a change from an alarm clock!
Field was very well designated, with no camping in the middle so that you only had neighbours each side and not swamped and crushed in.
The dogs had the field to charge about in, and it wasn't far to walk them on leads down to the canal and off into bude town and beach (and pubs).
The price for 9 of us for a week was superb as the site we used last year (which was great too) worked out about 3 times as expensive.
Love the fact its just a field with a basic shop, so no glitter and fancy stuff - just pitch up and get on with it - FANTASTIC sunset and good views.
Only complaint I have is that we didn't book for longer as we met some really lovely people while their kids were off playing on the park (very basic but the kids loved it and the parents were in shock they weren't asking for sweets every 5 minutes!)
Oh, and directions should be made more clear NOT to follow your sat nav - cos the poor bloke whose door I knocked on said I was the 1000th person to knock on his door - didn't give me a prize but did direct me back out and round the corner to the farm - so if using sat nav - please use the farms address not just the post code - feel very sorry for man at 'you have reached your destination'

Our first trip away in our folding camper and our first camping trip with our 8 month old. A last minute booking for a 2 night weekend stay in August limited our choices due to availability and we ended up a Atlantic Camping near Bude.
Pleasant and efficient booking taken despite no time for deposit.
Lovely quiet farm location, yet only 5 minute drive from Widemouth Bay and Bude. Traffic on the A39 could just be heard in the evening when there was little wind.
Facilities so much better than described in the earlier review. Great children's play area and a separate field for ball games etc. Only 2 toilets, 1 shower and 1 washing up sink, but all immaculately clean (all with roof!) and although the site was full I only had to queue for a few minutes once (and that was for the washing up sink). Well stocked farm shop on site and a Morrisons just down the road.
In comparison to the other sites in and around Bude it was also very good value. For 2 adults, 1 child and a baby.A pitch including electric hook up (16 amps) was £12.50 per night. In peak, peak season. We paid double that last year just down the road for a tent pitch without electric.
Highly recommended.

We booked this campsite over the phone, the lady seemed very nice. There are 10 pitches, and 1 toilet and one shower, the shower had no roof on it, and you could be seen from the shoulders upward, it was in the middle of the site, so all could see you having a shower.
There was plenty of room to build a proper toilet and shower block, and if this was to be done, it would be a nice site, it was close to the beautiful town and beaches of Bude.
