What a little Gem!
We made a last minute booking here as most of the campsites where we were looking to go in the gower were full (or charged a Hilton fee for a motorcycle and a shoebox sized tent!) so we chose this site further towards South-West Wales as the description appealed to us.
We were greeted by a cheerful and enthusiastic couple with their kids who were all beavering around the site making it what it is and we were soon aware that we were visiting someone's dream venture rather than just another campsite.
Nothing seems too much trouble, we were even told we could've had some oars to paddle around the lake. We may well ask for them next visit!
The site was purpose designed around a small lake (pitches are set in a half circle shape between a clear stream and the lake) featuring lots of wildlife and due to the size of the site and the limited amount of pitches the owners look to permit, this site will likely always remain quiet, private and peaceful.
The lack of shower facilities (which the owners are looking to erect in the future) was made up by the sheer tranquillity and beauty.
It is clear that this site is going to improve further with the owners keen to make this 'picture perfect'. We look forward to seeing how it develops in seasons to come.
A selection of public use solar powered lights, barbecues, fire pits and adult plus even kids sized picnic benches made this site ideal for the 'back to nature' camper and ideal for short term stays in a tent (longer stays with a kitted out camper van or caravan I'd suggest).
The site has only a few basic rules and is run with the view of it's visitors having a bit of common sense and respect. What a breath of fresh air!
Only tell your best friends, we certainly will!

Just got back from a one night stay at this beautiful site and wish I was back there already. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity you cannot better this site. The owners are so welcoming, helpful and easy going, making you feel at ease quickly.
The lake at the centre of the site kept us entertained the whole time with its wildlife, we had jumping fish, ducks, dragonflies, and newts at eye level and constantly being watched by buzzards and herons overhead.
The site is well looked after and very pretty, with private, level, spacious pitches. Ground is good, no problems with pegs. Communal bbqs and picnic tables, also the use of several fire pits made this an extra special treat.
The facilities are very basic, one toilet with wash and basin and no showers, however this is spotless and the owner has said he will be constructing a shower block for next season. This reflects in the low charge for the site but to be honest I would pay double to stay here again.
Although the site itself is very basic and not ideal for a long stay, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, this is an ideal retreat from the likes of Oakwood Park etc.
Just a 2 min drive away you will find a co-op, a fantastic fish and chip shop, some local pubs and shops.
The owners are very pet friendly with a paddock next to the site catered for exercising dogs. A haven for children to play, with a slow running river behind the site to wade in and plenty of room for a ball game or two, however, I would not find my stay as peaceful if I had taken my young children because of the close proximity to the lake and the fact that there is no lighting at night.
Dont want to ramble on too much for fear of the site becoming hugely popular and changing. But the next chance I have I will be back there.

Stayed here for one night on our way to Pembroke for the ferry next day. Easy to find, very good directions on the website and from phoning the owner.
Enough access for our 9m motorhome. Lovely location, quiet, outdoor tables / benches provided and barbecue facilities. Basic toilet facilities, and small shop on site. The owner provided rods for fishing.
We didn't have time to explore surrounding area, but enjoyed the site for the lovely view over the lake and watching the wildlife. Lots of birds, including kingfisher. Would definitely use this site again, and stay for longer. The owners were very friendly, helpful and informative.
