A Caravan Club Certified Location.
A real hideaway for the purist caravanner with little to disturb the rustling of the trees.
The site comprises of a level mown field, very approximately 400m x 40m, only the half nearest the gate is allocated for pitching. There is a water stand pipe and a chemical disposal point. The whole field is surrounded on three sides by water filled dykes and possesses a wide variety of trees. And that’s about it.
I was drawn to this site as it is a pleasant 10 minute walk to my all time favourite pub; the Geldeston Locks Inn which was holding its annual Harvest Beer Festival. The Locks Inn is an unspoilt, old fashioned, rural/riverside pub. So rural as not have mains electricity – it relies own generator. You can get real ales (Green Jack); real cider (Burnards); food most days; Thursday folk evenings (free); Friday curry night (All home made, from 6pm, get there early); Sunday live music outside (free).
If you do decide to try the Locks Inn and you use the postcode given by their website in your GPS, check the location carefully. My GPS gets me close, but the wrong side of the river. (Nearest bridge, Beccles!) Better to use NR34 0HS - this is Station Road, Geldeston. Locks Lane is a rough track off Station Road. (There was once a railway, but long since dismantled)
A lovely spot to stay with a unique pub just round the corner. I'm sure you will enjoy them both as we did.

Management response: Please note as of 2018 this site has been renamed from Newland Park to Three Rivers. It is no longer a CL site and has planning for 10 touring units (tents/caravans/motorhomes), good facilities now and offers Canoe & Kayak hire |
