We loved this site. It is by far the best site in the immediate area, if you are keen on simplicity. Caravans are sited in a 3-sided perimeter around a central green which is kept clear, so there is no overcrowding, and tents are on the other side, across the central drive. What is really nice is that you have 2 beaches to choose from as the site is effectively on a small peninsula (both are accessed through fences), and there are loads of coves and sandy beaches as well as rock pools etc. There are some soft sandy areas, but most of the sand is made up of fairly course shell fragments which can be sharp on the feet. It doesn't spoil anything, but you really need beach shoes. Searching for shells is really rewarding as there is a vast array, we collected around 50 small cowrie shells as well as lots of other species, and the kids loved it. Be aware that the facilities are very very basic. There is a toilet block with 2 toilets in each section (M+F)and a wash-hand basin with cold water in each(no hot water at all and no showers). There is an outside water point and chemical disposal, no dish washing facilities. I would suggest that this is not really an issue if you have a caravan with all the mod cons (site has hook ups), may be more of an issue if you are camping, so be prepared to rough it a little. Well worth it for the views and beaches. Also great for water sports, we have a small dinghy with outboard and did lots of exploring and fishing. The area is very rocky so you need to take care! Swimming is also excellent with clear water (best with a wet suit but we braved it without), water surpisingly warm, must be the North Atlantic Drift. Kids also able to use their bikes on the site and onto the road which is basically a country lane, so very quiet. Site owners are very friendly and accommodating, and was good value. Can be windy, but then all the sites here are the same, so if you have an awning good idea to have a storm strap as well. Small grocery in Arisaig and ferry to Eigg and Rhum. Mallaig has boat trips and good eateries and some shops. Wonderful walking country as well. Overall, thoroughly recommended, and we will be back.

Stayed for three nights with other half, weather was very kind, warm but with enough wind to keep the midges away.

The site is set in a glorious location, with views to set anyones heart alight. The sunset over Eigg and Rum is a view that will long live in the memory.

The facilities are basic but very clean, toilet block with 2 male,2 female toilets.

EHU tend to be the best pitches. The pitches are level and well maintained, which cant be said of other sites in the area.

The site is on a working croft, the owner very friendly and helpful.

Barbecue in small cove on the beach, 5mins walk from the tent, while the sun was setting with a small fire is one of the reasons everyone should experience camping.

No shower on site but spa, sauna and swim at Malaig leisure centre made up for this.

Watching two otters fishing and frolicking at Rhu was fascinating.

Met one couple who have been going to the site for 35 years.

This site may not be to everyones taste due to basic facilities, but it is small, friendly and in a stunning location, I for one cannot wait to return.

Stayed for 2 nights over the half term holiday, with our 4 year old daughter & labrador..

Site is very informal. There is a croft house by the entrance but no notices to tell you what to do. Parked up in the nice flat field (which borders on the beach) & asked a camper what the format was. He said that he hadn't seen anyone yet but he knew that it was £11.50 per night. Pitched the tent, presuming that the owner would come round for the money in the morning (common practice round these parts). Didn't see anybody, so paid a visitor in the house when we left, she didn't know how much to charge.

Facilities are basic but clean. Toilet block with 2 gents & 2 ladies. Hot & cold water. No dishwashing facilities, just an outside tap. No showers. A lot of the pitches had electric hook ups.

Prime pitches were right along the beachfront with gates through a fence. These were all full of caravans.

This is a fairly basic site but it's clean & the setting is fantastic. It is ideal for anyone into watersports. We saw small speedboats, windsurfers & kayakers on the site. There was also a group of kayakers who all met at the site on the Friday night, camped for the night, packed up & went out in the kayaks to Skye on Saturday morning. They left their cars in an adjacent field the following night & camped on Skye.

The beach is mainly made of ground down shells, which are a bit sharp on the feet, so wet shoes are advisable. It is an ideal beach for kids to explore. It is all little coves & much more interesting than miles of sand. My daughter loved searching for shells (millions of them) & looking through the numerous pools left by the tide (some of them big enough to swim in, as tested by the dog). The beach is spotless & the water crystal clear. If you want a nice 'soft' sandy beach, Morar Sands is just round the coast towards Malaig (small village but you can get all the basics).
This is a stunning sheltered bay on the estuary of the River Morar (shortest river in UK) with toilets & safe swimming for kids. It's apparently good for sea trout as well but I didn't get a bite. If you plan a day out at Morar, Get there early as there is limited parking, especially at the weekend. A lot of the locals go there at the weekends (I know as I grew up in Fort William & spent a lot of sunny days out here).

If you like a basic site where you get left alone to sort yourself out, it's brilliant. If you want a lot of facilities & attention, then maybe it isn't for you.

We used this site on a regular basis a few years back then passed it over in favour of other sites in the area. Glad we returned this time. It has limited facilities, EHU's, fresh water point, loos with hot and cold water but no showers. What it lacks in mod cons it definitely makes up for in views, stunning sunsets and lovely walks.
Its right on the beach so its ideal for anyone bringing canoes, kayak's and small boats. The beach at this site seems to have faired better than most in the area in recent years which makes it an ideal place for kids to mess about. There's a hotel about half a mile up the road if you fancy a drink.
You are a couple of miles away from Arisaig which has a small Spar or you could head for Mallaig, roughly 7 miles away where there is a Co-op and a Spar which has a butchers at the back of it, a must if you intend having a BBQ as the burgers are brilliant! I'm glad I returned to this site and will do so again.
