Just returned from a one night stay here, just to check the van over for start of season. Very friendly owners and would do anything to help, first time I've been handed the end of a hook up cable to plug straight into the caravan!
Nice quiet location, chickens are the healthiest I've ever seen and the eggs (available from site) on toast for breakfast tasted so fresh. As mentioned before they are putting a lot of effort into upgrading this site; installing a road and landscaping the site and when this is complete the site will be much improved.
Overall, I'd recommend this site to anyone.

We visited this site over the easter break just to try out our new campervan. The weather was awful and the ground at the site was unfortunately very boggy.
However, despite this we still had a great time. Linda and her husband were very accommodating and the kids loved chasing the chickens.
Facilities are basic but clean. Hot showers are free as is use of the kitchen / microwave / kettle. An honesty box for some provisions is a nice thing to see these days.
During our stay there was some work being done to lay a perimeter road which meant even more mud than usual!. But in a few months the site will look great and well worth a visit.

A lovely little site in a genuinely peaceful spot. We loved this site because it is a simple field with pitches around the outside, it felt very spacious, - apparently there is pitching in the centre of the field on very busy occasions. Although there is no play area, children from different families played cricket or football in the centre of the field in the evenings. We found our fellow campers to be very friendly too. Very reasonably priced site.
The owners are great. Very relaxed, friendly and helpful. The washing up room has two sinks, a kettle, microwave and fridge. You can buy a few essentials (we recommend the eggs) on site. Showers/loos (2 of each)are currently unisex, very clean. They were adequate for our needs (we are a family of six!) although the hot water was occasionally in short supply.
The site is in a great location for exploring coast, mountain or city. We enjoyed Ogmore beach, Rest Bay(near Porthcawl), Kenfig dunes and a beautiful country park very close by called Bryngarw Country Park - a lovely day out.
We are almost reluctant to leave this review cos we want to keep this site quiet and undiscovered! Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention the chickens - great characters and very good at keeping the field clean - a big hit with the kids.

As previously stated this is a new site this year so it has a few points to iron out but don't let that put you off this place is brilliant,Paul & Lynda & there helper Tom cant do enough for you,we were there the weekend of the Dragon bike ride so the site was full of cyclists, on the Sunday night they did a BBQ for everyone & only charged for the meat ,pasta etc was free & delicious, me & Pat filled our plates & it only cost us £3 for the 2. Everyone sat around talking & mixing like they never would do normally so well done for that.
There is a well stocked freezer & fridge with provisions in & free range eggs that are all different colours (as they keep several breeds of chicken which roam free & keep the site clean)but there is no till or opening hours just an honesty box,I really hope no clowns take advantage & ruin it as this is brilliant in this day & age.
The showers are free & loads of hot water with the toilets in the same portacabin, men & women share at the moment but it is in the plans to put up extra space to separate them but I have to admit it didn't cause any problems while we were there.
There is the slightest of slopes down the field but it is almost un-noticeable, the ground is good & pegs go in easy but if it rains they don't all come out the same, which is no bad thing really.
There is no children's play area but most of them kept amused in the bushes at the bottom of the field or playing ball in the centre where there is room.
There is plenty to see & do in the area & Porthcawl which is a typical sea side town but not too commercial is only 15 minutes away.
If you want a brew or a snack go to the Coffee Pot in Aber Kenfig its brilliant with all the olde worlde touches but not over the top & the quality is bang on.
On site there is a campers kitchen with everything you could need , picnic tables around the field & if you have problems with your motor Paul is a mechanic.
There are already regulars who keep returning in its first season & I can understand why because I will also be back for the location, hospitality, eggs & Welsh tea that Lynda got us drinking & we cant get enough of now ;-) .
Please don't spread the word as I would like to keep it just as it is.

This was our forth visit to the site since it opened, and have enjoyed it very much. A small friendly site with good facilities. Some on going work for the garden and a couple of the pitches. Getting better all the time.
Close to Bridgend which has good shopping areas inc, ASDA'S, TESCO'S. Also seaside town of PORTHCAWL.
Will be returning shortly.

Fantastic site, would definitely recommend.
We booked this last minute and it was the only site we could get in the area for a couple of nights and it had no reviews as it is a new site.
Owners very friendly and helpful, the site is still being worked on in respect of gardening and a couple of the pitches are not quite ready as it only opened this year, but has toilet and shower facilities which are excellent. The site has free range chickens that are let out to roam during the morning which is great if you love animals as we do, and the owners let the children on the site help to feed them which is lovely. It has facilities for electric, a small shop and washing up.
The site is pretty central for all areas that are lovely to visit in South Wales and we will definitely be returning once we get a new tent as we camped with family. For a 4 man tent with 4 adults it only cost us £13 as we paid extra for the extra adults, if we had gone alone it would have only been £9 which is fantastic value for money.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this campsite, and was impressed with tranquil location, good facilities and very helpful staff. Liked the chickens roaming around, and have already decided to return!
Local shops are mainly in Tondu or Cefn Cribwr - Lidls in Tondu was easy enough to reach to stock up on barb-b-q items. Amazingly clear skies at night.

Had a really nice stay here. Were immediately greeted on arrival by very friendly staff, the location is absolutely idyllic and SO quiet, and there is plenty of room. Our daughter was delighted to see tame chickens roaming around, and the site is so child friendly. Only 10 miles from Porthcawl and you can pop into the museum of Welsh rural life on the way home (M4, J33). The site is surrounded by lots of lovely villages, fantastic if you like a country walk. There is a small shop on site, plus another shop in the village. We'll definitely be back, hopefully within the year. The site has only been open since Easter 09, hence not many people knowing about it, but its the best we've stayed on, and at £10 a night including electric, its also the cheapest.
