New Shipping Farm is situated next to Carew Castle and Tidal Mill. It is a spotlessly clean site with views over the estuary. There are two ladies toilets and one shower, one of the toilets is situated at the end of the farmhouse which is also a huge family washroom.
The gents have one toilet and one shower. There was plenty of soap and hand towels and the showers were always hot. A nice touch I thought, was the tub of disposable gloves next to the waste point and the doggy bags at the entrance to the site.
The grass was kept well trimmed and collected when cut so the folding camper didn't get full of grass on wet feet.
Carew Castle and Mill is a short walk over two fields and the Carew Inn is also within walking distance where we had an enjoyable meal. There is a large Tescos at Pembroke Doc which is about five miles away which was very easy to get to.
The other campers were all very friendly and I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful basic site. We have booked to go back again next year!

Absolutely delightful site in a beautiful, peaceful location.
Fantastic views from the farm, from our tent we looked out over open fields and the river estuary, it was really lovely. One shower/loo each for the men and the ladies and an extra family washroom / loo which was huge and came in handy with the little ones, and the facilities while basic were kept clean and well looked after. The field was also well looked after was lovely and flat and the pitch sizes were really generous. A lovely walk across the fields led to the castle, the mill and the village pub, both of which were good.
Peaceful and relaxing: we loved it! Thanks to Stephanie for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed here for two nights in June 2010 as a “try out” and have now booked ten days in July 2010.
The owners are genuinely nice people – no pretence – and gave us lots of their time and local knowledge on what to do and where to walk.
We were happy with the facilities. We used the site toilets and showers even though we have both in our caravan. They might be a bit basic for some people – but if you want bells and whistles then you shouldn’t be looking at the smaller sites! Everything was clean. On the smaller sites, people tend to leave things as they expect to find them – on the bigger sites, the “someone is paid to cleanup after me” mentality is prevalent!
We had a basket bar meal at the Carew Inn – we’ll definitely go back here and have something off the main menu.
If you’re towing, I suggest speaking with the owners and getting directions. There are two ways to the site, one is quite tight, the other a bit longer but easier.
Pembrokeshire has similarities with Cornwall – but it’s unspoilt and not overly commercialised/touristy. My only reservation in writing a review on here is that I don’t want to find New Shipping Farm booked up next time we want to go!

A wonderful location for touring Pembroke, handy for coastal walks and town visits
Shower and toilets were clean and well supplied with paper and soap and hand towels.
The field was cut and in good order and the views are fantastic. Customer contact and service very personal and friendly
We will without doubt use New Shipping again, on the downside if you could put it that way, no washing up area hot water supply, just a camping wash stand

We spent 3 nights, May Bank Holiday at this delightful site. It is lovely, looking out over the field to the estuary in the distance. The site is mown and generous pitch sites.
The facilities are basic i.E. One shower, one small basin and one toilet and a welcome heater; for ladies and same for gents. There is an additional toilet and basin at the house for ladies. It was clean. Disposal place but no dishwashing facilities - washed up at the tent. The price for the site reflects the facilities.
Stephanie welcomed us with a hot cup of tea on arrival at 8.30pm after a long 4.5 hour drive. Very much appreciated. Very nice couple. There is no children's playground but it was great to see children running around chasing a ball or playing tig. It is a safe area for children.
There is a signposted easy walk from the site to Carew Castle and Mill over the fields. Nice to be close to the sheep and their lambs. Loved it.
There is a pub in Carew which is on the other side of the bridge but we did not try it. We bought some provisions at Pembroke. Delicious bread made by B Jenkins, Victoria Bakery, Laugharne was bought at the Spa. Magnificent Pembroke Castle! A must see.
We enjoyed lots of walks - from Angle around the coast, beaches; Freshwater East, Barafundle Bay and near Stackpole.
We loved the area, lots to do; stunning countryside. New Shipping Farm is central to all the beauty of this remarkable area.
