This was our first ever holiday in a touring caravan and so we needed help and advice setting up and learning the ropes.
This help and advice was given in abundance by the owner who immediately made us feel welcome as visitors to the site.
The site itself is fairly basic but that suited us down to the ground as we do not want all of the extras offered by the larger sites (such as club houses, swimming pools etc.), we just want a quiet, relaxing retreat.
There are toilets and showers on site which were very basic but very clean, having said that, there were only three vans on site while we were there so not really likely to get that dirty, however, I am confident that they will remain clean throughout the year.
The owner was telling me that they have plans to modernise the facilities at the end of next season with some expansion works going on at the end of this season.
The rates for staying are very competitive (£14.50 per night for 3 of us with elec hook up) and we have decided to leave the caravan in storage at the site for £22.50 per month with no extra charges for them to take the van out of storage when required.
I was a little concerned about the sites proximity to the M5 Motorway (1 mile away) when I was booking, however, apart from a slight hum you would not know you were that close to it.
As we only went for a 'trial' weekend we did not get the chance to explore the surroundings too much, but we did venture to the nearest pub (1/2 mile away) which offers a good range of food and drinks with very friendly and helpful staff.
The site is located roughly half way between Burnham-on-Sea and Cheddar Gorge (one of our favourite places).
All in all we were very very impressed and we are planning on making regular visits to this site.
