Beautiful location with fantastic views over the lake and up to Snowdon. Although the site is quite hilly, there is plenty of space to choose from.
The farmer was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive and gave us a lot of information about the surrounding area.
Although the site is basic (you're sharing with the sheep!), the toilet block is clean and warm with showers in excellent condition.
Overall very impressed with the value for money and will definitely be returning when the weather gets warmer.

Searching for an out of the way place for peace and quiet and found it on this site, great location, pleasantly surprised with the shower and toilet block. Basic site but great for just getting out there and discovering, you can walk in any direction and could be anywhere in the world. We visited on a particularly windy night but tucked in behind a wall and enjoyed the views day and night. Owner not intrusive paid after we had set up and was grateful of the logs for sale and the small fire pots that were supplied. Plenty going on around the area to visit and central to use as a cheep base for walking and exploring. No electric hook ups or play grounds but plenty of space to to make your own entertainment.

Fantastic location, views to Snowdon and other mountains and down to the lakes. We stayed for one night en route from Ireland back to London and would recommend it for all outdoor enthusiasts as you are right in the mountains on a hill farm. It is the closest to camping wild while actually on a campsite that you will get!
Good value at £5 per adult and £3 per child, clean toilets and showers available and fire wood sold by the farmer for the fire baskets to use if you so wish.
The site is fairly uneven, sloping steeply in places and pretty breezy with wind blowing down the valley but the dry stone wall offers shelter for tents. You share the site with the farm's sheep who make regular walks up and down the hill, to the amusement of the children! Good cafe in Capel Curig, the Pinnacle Cafe, for daytime food but shuts at 6pm. Worth staying here for the views alone when you first peak out of your tent in the morning.

My 13 year old son and I stopped for 2 nights here, whilst on a cycle and mountain walking trip. It was windy on arrival, so we put our tent up behind a tall dry stone wall. The toilet block is clean and after a day of cycling and climbing Snowdon, the steaming shower felt great. The farmer was very welcoming. We dined in one of the pubs in Capel Curig. There is a shop there but it closes at about 1800. The view looking down to the lakes and on to the mountains is picture postcard. I would stay here again

We stayed at this site over a glorious weekend as it was close to Snowdon and had the option of catching the Sherpa bus which passed by the campsite. As previous reviews state, the campsite is sloping in a variety of directions and you do have to pick your spot carefully. Views over the lakes and hills are magnificent. The toilet block is new but with only 4 showers and 4 toilets (and the hand basins are in the toilet cubicles), be prepared to queue at busy times. We probably will not return to the site, as there are 4 of us in the family (2 adults, 2 children over 10 years)we stayed in a small Vango Force 10. Because of the age of the children we were all charged the same £5 per person per night. In addition the shower tokens costs £1 for 5 minutes. So for our family the cost was £24 for one night. The showers were cold as the hot water must run off a tank had been used up previously. Also the Sherpa bus was already full when it came passed the site, so it did not stop. Great site for singles and couples but expensive for families.

This campsite is located on a working sheep farm a mile or so from Capel Curig. The rural location ensures a view from the tent that is rugged, mountainous and captivating. The site is a hilly field that has various flat levels where you can pitch.
The site is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon as you can catch the Sherpa bus at the end of the farm track by waving it down on its route from Capel Curig to Pen-Y-Pass; thereby avoiding the trouble of finding a car parking space at the bottom of Snowdon. This costs £1 each way so is also a money saver on the parking.
Our dog was welcome on the site, they would need to be on a lead due to sheep within the field. This site is a perfect location for sight seeing and walking in this area, I would definitely recommend it.

As near to wild camping as it comes, with big benefits. Toilets and showers are kept spotless, no matter what the weather, I never saw them dirty. The owners, their always on hand to help. A location to die for and only £5 a night! Turn up, find a pitch and set up, no one saying that's your pitch go there, you camp where you want. It's well out of the way so take everything you need. It's a mountain farm so expect sheep to be roaming around. Fire baskets are dotted around and logs are for sale should you want a fire. Make sure your tent is well strong as the weather can change in an instant. A stunning campsite that we will use again and again.

We have been going to garth farm now for four years and we love it, it is a lovely friendly and relaxing site with views second to none, and for people moaning about the weather in the valley! It's camping what do you expect! The people who own the farm are very friendly n helpful. For those real campers out there you will love it. Just take your food with you as you are quite away out. Happy camping

We booked the site a few days before and had a very friendly chat with the farmer on the phone.
We arrived in the pitch black and pouring rain, but nothing was too much trouble for him to take us around the site and show us the toilet and shower block. Parked up the motorhome and pitched a tent alongside. We woke up on the Saturday morning to some stunning views of the lake and the mountains.
At £4 per person and no extra charge for dogs this site is certainly one that I would recommend to family and friends. Tranquil, picturesque with clean, hot showers and clean toilets to match this one can't be faulted.
The owner made us feel very welcome and having four dogs with us didn't phase him one bit. If you want some peace and tranquillity this has to be one of the best sites to stay on and we will definitely be making a return visit, whatever time of year.
As others have said, if you are walking make sure you have provisions with you as it is quite a trek to the shops

A great little site with fantastic views.
I arrived at the site during a break in the rain, the owner advised me that I could pitch my tent anywhere, advised me the direction of the prevailing wind and more importantly told me that it would be raining again in half an hour - local and friendly knowledge is most welcoming.
The site is undulating and on a working farm, so expect sheep to pop by and say 'hello'.
The toilet an shower block are clean, the showers run on a token system £1 for just over 5 minutes and are just the right temperature after a day in the hills.
There is no shop on site, so if you are walking, make sure that you arrive with provisions for the night and the morning.
At £4 a night the site is great value and I will be visiting again in the future.
