Our party, as usual, was made up of me (Dad), the wife; our two boys aged 10 & 7 and our doggie.
Driving to the site with the aid of a Sat-Nav would cause you no problems as Butlins, Skegness has no low bridges or unsuitable roads nearby.
We have been here before, and so know our way to the touring field but for those who have never been here before, you pull into the Day Visitors car park and then pull forward to the barrier and once the gate house has checked you paper work, he directs you to the touring field.
Check-in was straight forward and easy and the warden explained what was where etc and ensured we had all the right number of passes to the Butlins Complex. As our dog was with us as usual, we were allocated a pitch on the dog owners side but even though we were given pitch number 101, the warden explained that as Butlins had reduced the number of pitches this year there was plenty of space and so choose which pitch you like, and spread yourself out as you please.
We choose the same pitch as we had last year as we liked it and set about getting the van and awning sorted which in the firm but easy going grass pitch, was easy ground and the grass was lush.
Butlins entertainment cannot be faulted with something going on somewhere all day and half the night for most people in your party.
The touring field facilities have seen better days. Both the brick and portaloo type structures are still in use with the brick structure having received a lick of paint in some places but the building shows its age. New space heaters I believe are installed but there are still no lockable doors, or doors at all, on the showers and this niggles me. I made frequent use of the showers and they were always hot and the water was plenty.
In general, the whole of Butlins entertainment and touring field was always clean and the bins always empty. With the reduced numbers this year, we really did not feel crowded at anytime and for one night, had the entire dog field side to ourselves.
During our stay we found the Vodafone mobile signal to be quiet good and the 3G mobile broadband signal to be excellent.
Near-by attractions we visited were Natureland Seal Sanctuary in Skegness and would recommend this attraction if using free child entry tickets when accompanied by a paying adult.
We also visited Ingoldmells for the beach but found it to be very small pebbles but dogs were allowed on the beach here so my doggie could have her swim.
As always, Kindest Regards
Andy O’Keeffe

What a brilliant site for kids! The touring pitches are level the park is clean the toilet/shower block isn't up to much but plenty of hot water, we paid the £10 deposit for the key for the disabled as we had a baby with us and that is perfect. The bins get emptied daily pitches are spacious.
The swimming is good to but be prepared to wait to get on the master blaster we waited 30 the first time and 45 the next, family changing area showers are all communal. There is lots to do during the day but be prepared to wait in queues for any big shows top tip reds is always quieter than centre stage! all in all we had a great week and would go back any time

Decided to take the tourer with us this time, as normally we stay over the other side in the chalets. Chalet price for this week, self catering was just under £800, to take the van it was £300, so a saving of £500. This might sound expensive but most things on the resort are free after the initial charge.
Entrance to the park alone is £40 a day so take that off the site fee and your getting your pitch with ehu for £9 per night.
Kids loved it as we did and the touring side is quiet and near to the tunnel for the other side.
The only problem was the shower blocks, these were portakabins, the warden tried his hardest to keep them clean but even after my 7 year old daughter had flushed the toilet 3 times, the paper still didn't go down. I would imagine they have a few problems with these as the site becomes more and more busy.

Butlins. Its like Marmite, you either love it or hate it.
The touring site is quite reasonably priced out of the school holidays but ridiculously in.
Sited over the road from the main complex of Butlins but only a 5 minute walk under a tunnel. Pitches aren't a great size, shower blocks ( there are 3 of them, for over 200 pitches) are old dated and 1 does have pressure problems so the warden told me. When I say shower blocks, 2 are portable cabins and 1 is a brick built one next to the wardens office.
Warden was very helpful and friendly and we could pick any pitch we wanted upon arrival as long as wasn't used. He said he would just move new arrivals around.
Would go back because my 4 year old loves it but would probably not go in the school holidays as the complex would be overrun with the crowds.

Just come back from a lovely break at butlins, we originally only booked for 2 nights but ended up booking another 2 whilst we was there.
Reasonable price considering you have all Butlins entertainment and amenities.
The touring site is under a tunnel away from the main part of Butlins, but we found it very safe to let our 11 year old go across to the main part on her own. There is a spar shop on the touring side but we found this to be very expensive.
The shower block / toilets aren't the best we've ever seen (could do with up grading) but did the job and there was always hot water.
The site warden was lovely very helpful, and even said we didn't have to leave our pitch till 6pm because it wasn't to busy.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely be going back.

Nice, big, flat, grassy, has a secure fence around the perimeter and you access Butlins main through an adjoining underground walkway, the toilets are clean and water hot, we enjoyed it, only gripe about Butlins is the outdoor pool is a waste of time in any weather because its quite shallow and colder than the baltic.
The main benefit to this site is it is central to Butlins, Skegness, and if the site is not peak season then your kids have acres of free space to play in, and you know its secure, and you can keep your eyes on them from either your van or sat outside.
The area has lots to do, strawberry picking to fake tatoos, its all going on in Skeggy.

Myself, Wife and two lads aged 7 & 9 arrived here to find check in straight forward and easy. Our pre allocated pitch number was being used by another outfit but with plenty of space in high season, we quickly found a suitable pitch.
Pitching seems to be allocated weather you have paid for electric hook-up, and then further divided if you have a dog stopping with you.
The Butlins resort is connected to the field by a underpass so kids can leave your van and never cross the main road to access the resort.
Normal Butlins attractions are on site and entry to everything is covered in your site fees except some special visiting shows. With that said, the site fees are on the whole are cheaper than some Haven sites.
The Shower blocks on site are a mixture of brick built and portacabin style with the brick building showing its age and the portacabin's showing how hard they are to maintain any heat level leading to a sharp blow of cold air up your legs when the door opens each time.
There is no dog walk on site but there is a lovely nearby walk so this is not to much of a problem.
If chatting to the warden is your thing, then this is not the site as during our 4 day stay, we only saw him if someone was due to check in.
The non electric grass pitches were used for an overspill car park for the day visitors while we were there.
Overall, we would go back when compared to the price and what you get in the resort itself. During the evening / night the site is quite quiet and the only noise is from the funfair 0.5 miles up the road and this is only as the main hooter goes off to sound the start of the roller coaster.
