This is a lovely little site. Peaceful and away from it all. It is a little bit sloped but the owner provides bits of wood for you to use as levelling aids for the caravan and so we did manage to get pretty level.
There is a fantastic little walk straight off the site which gives a view into a steep sided gorge with large natural rock structures that truly surprised me. I would have had no idea this was there without staying at this site.
The facilities are basic but adequate.
We sited the caravan at the bottom of the field and due to heavy rain we did manage to get stuck when leaving. No problem though. The owner simply pulled the caravan up for us with his 4x4. Very helpful indeed. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed 8 days holiday on this site and spent time looking at the various farm animals in the surrounding fields that are part of the beautiful Eskdale countryside
The owner was very helpful and friendly. Basic toilet facilities, but adequate. Lealholm village is about a mile away and very pretty also.
There are three village shops and a pub. Popular resort of Whitby is 10 miles away and other seaside resorts are nearby. For those who enjoy walking there are endless footpaths.
We will certainly visit again.

Thought I'd dreamt this place up so it was great to find that it existed. Turned up after spending a weekend in Thornton le Dale, weather was so lovely we didn't want to go home. This little site was just right, cheap, charming, basic.Walked the dog through the woods and up onto the edge of the moors.
The Board in Lealholm, was lovely, cozy fire etc.
Shame we had to pack up to go to work. The cockerel and Owl woke me up at 4am, so no danger of oversleeping.
We will be back again, it,s just right for us, don't tell anybody else about it!

Would recommend this site. Went on our first ever trip in a caravan to check out the van the owner was a great help. The ground was really wet the farmer got our van into position for us and was on hand to give any advise we needed. The farmer asked our children if they would like to see an hour old calf. Very friendly. Would visit in the summer. An enjoyable walk into Lealholm for the train to Whitby. Basic facilities but if have your own in your van not a problem

Lovely site, great owner, very helpful. Nice duck pond opposite site where you are encouraged to feed the geese with any leftover food.
Large grass pitches plenty of room, quiet and peaceful, good clean facilities. Some lovely walks in the area. Nice easy walk into the village of Lealholm, on Friday night a fish and chip van comes into the village there is also a good pub and plenty of tea rooms. In the middle of 'Heartbeat' county. We will be back

Lovely little site just 1 mile from Lealholm, with railway link to Whitby. The very friendly owner couldn't have been more helpful when we arrived.
It was our first ever outing in our campervan, it was raining and the ground was very wet but he managed to get us on a pitch and provided levelling blocks to make sure we were ok. Small but adequate toilet and shower (tokens available from the farmhouse for £1). Opened the door on the first morning and came face to face with a deer!
Lovely pub down the hill in Lealholm with a fabulous menu. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break.

If you want somewhere off the beaten track, peaceful, not too far from a village and right in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors, then this camp site is a must. The facilities are very basic, a toilet and separate shower in one block and a further toilet and separate shower, washing machine and dryer in another. There is a sink outside for washing dishes, but only cold water. The toilet blocks are not heated. The showers are by 50p tokens which you get from the farm house. We paid £10.50 per night, stayed here Friday and Saturday, unfortunately the site was waterlogged but everywhere is at the moment. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Only about 9 miles from Whitby, Heartbeat country is just round the corner. Definitely want to come back in the summer.
