Would agree with most of the previous reviews. However its important to note that this site is situated next to a fairly busy road. Between the hours of 11pm and 7am the traffic was ok but if you like to sleep in then you may find the morning traffic a bit noisy.

Otherwise a great location for walking and cycling although the track along the river is mainly suitable for walking. The pub was a great attraction, it was fairly popular mid week and the bar staff took your site fees and were extremely helpful. One even made sure the football was on the tv for us and gave me a small sample of the bitter on offer before buying. We didn't try the food but it looked good value. Toilet and shower facilities were limited to one of each. This was adequate for a small site. The shower was hot and powerful and overall they were kept in good clean condition. A deposit for the combined toilet shower room key is paid at the bar (£5).

Despite some road noise I thought this was a good basic site and at £9 a night is very good value.

This site is about 20 miles from home and have stayed here loads over the years.

The last poster states that there are no cycle routes on the 'canal' this is the river Severn and there are routes along the riverbank you can cycle for miles.

I agree about the washroom facilities but never had the need to use them.

This is a lovely site and is child friendly and for the price you could not get better.

We had booked to stay for 2 nights as we hoped to do some cycling along the river path. The site itself is well maintained and as a bonus has free wifi which was great as my husband was 'working from home'!

Our grass pitch was spacious and quite flat, there was only one other unit so we could park where we liked.

2 disappointments. 1, the canal didn't have a path to cycle on and 2, the shower and toilet facilities were basic to say the least. Although the toilet appeared clean, the room was cold, full of cobwebs, the shower cubicle although large looked dirty with cracked tiles. The door had swollen with the damp and I got shut in for 10 mins! I couldn't bring myself to use the shower although my husband did and said it was fine, and we decided to cut our stay short and move to another site.

I hope they refurb the facilities as the site could have a lot to offer with 2 nice pubs near and the river so close.

Stayed here as a stopover on route to cornwall to visit relatives.

Wouldn't stop again due to facilities, one shower and a single unisex toilet which could cause problems in warmer weather if you get my drift. No hot water / laundry / wash up areas

This site with slightly better facilities would be ok for caravans, but for those on a tenting break perhaps avoided

All that I can say is fantastic!

OK only one loo & shower which could do with a lick of paint but always clean and tidy.

As the previous review states, no washing up area so if you are in a tent then make provisions for this.

Food in the pub itself was excellent and friendly service. Various beers available at the bar.

Right next to river, pitches flat, children's play area with bouncy castle. Great location ideal for Gloucester, Tewksbury and The Forest Of Dean.

What more could you ask for at this price 10/10

A very welcoming and friendly campsite, run as part of the Inn's business. 10 level pitches, with hook up, but only one loo/shower,and no washing up facility. It can be a bit of an issue if you are caught short! Not a problem if you have a caravan with those facilities, but not so clever if you are under canvas.

However, it appears that the team there are looking into developing better washroom facilities, and this would turn a very welcoming, well run site into an absolute cracker.

I stayed here for the week of the Cheltenham festival as some of the campsites in Cheltenham get rather busy and messy at that time of year. This was a great find and I would highly recommend it for the week. Yes the washroom facilities aren't great but I showered every morning and there was always hot water. I didn't want to drive the van in each day, but there is a local bus stop outside that will get you into Cheltenham. Alternatively, the owner of the site/ pub also runs a taxi and for a very reasonable price will drop you in/ pick you up. The food in the pub was great after a day's racing and I plan to use this site again in the future. If you have no money left by the Friday, they even have a raceday in the pub celebrating the Gold Cup!
