I mirror all the comments about this lovely rural site. The farmer is lovely and very easy going. The site is in a lovely quiet location yet with in easy reach of most tourist destinations.
However, We did book expecting to stay on a field with 10 pitches sharing 2 toilets and a shower with electricity but when we arrived we were in the overflow field with no electricity and at least 20 other neighbours.
We could deal without the electric hookup and we had our showers in the late afternoon to avoid the queues in the morning but it wasn't as we thought.
Still nice though but don't go expecting hook up even if you book it! The cost was brilliant. I would have expected to pay more!

Good location near to Wookey Hole and very close to Tesco. Low cost site with a friendly laid back farmer. However the site lists as having 10 pitches, yet when we stayed there were 30+ tents and 5+ camper vans. This is fine but there are only two toilets and one shower. When we stayed, on the Friday and Saturday night there were a large group of children (possibly scout group) and loud music until late. This may not be a regular occurence for this site, however don't assume this will always be a quiet site with just a few tents.

Although we had temperamental weather, our stay here was lovely.
The owner/farmer Nick is a lovely guy and was always chatty.
We camped up right at the back of the field near the gate to the Cow field. My daughter (whos 23 months) loved seeing and feeding the cows. So much space for her to run around without having to panic about cars.
There is a rope swing but we never used it.
There are hot showers, I was confused whether or not we had to pay for them as there was a sign behind the door saying 20p for 2 mins of hot water. But there seemed to be constant hot water when we used it.
The only annoying thing is that there is no hot water to wash up your kitchen stuff. You can use the 2 sinks in the toilets or there are 2 water taps in the field.
Overall had a nice stay, located so close to Wookey Hole and also the town for Tesco's.
Would love to come back again in the future.

We spent a couple of mid week days here last year to escape the city for a while. The site was amazing: beautiful scenery and location, friendly owners, very relaxed and informal atmosphere and lovely and quiet. We were able to pick our own pitch, as the site was quiet which was brilliant.
The facilities (toilets, showers etc) were basic (2 toilets, clean but no frills and a bit of a walk from our pitch), but for us this simplicity and back to basics style were a welcome change! It may have been more of an issue if we'd stayed for longer. However, with Wells nearby for shops, pubs and entertainment, you are never far away from creature comforts. The popular attraction of Wookey Hole was so close too, we weren't stuck for things to do.
There were children on site- we didn't see anything other than a rope swing specifically for children, but with a bit of imagination and the great outdoors as a playground, I don't think that's much of an issue.
We pitched our bell tent at the bottom of the field down a slope, on our own (apart from the field of cows next door which provided much entertainment!) by a hill filled with bluebells and a brook for us to cool our beers in. There was a rope swing which we also mucked about on being the big children we are. It's the perfect base for walks in the countryside, and fires are also allowed at this site which was a clincher for us: Camping with a fire is a must!
The one thing I will say about the pitch we chose: the hill is steep- our clutch wasn't very happy trying to get back up it. Make sure your car is as light as possible and maybe reconsider that pitch if it's raining as a slippery, muddy slope may mean you can't get out!
Highly recommended if you like back to basics camping with excellent views, peace and quiet and a laid back pace. We were undisturbed the entire visit with the exception of a visit from a very sweet Jack Russell!

Very pastoral. Walk through fields to Wells or down the lane to the (amazing) pub. Don't tell too many people.
The 2 toilets are simple but fine, as is the shower, all in converted stone barn. Owner extremely obliging (lent us a hookup lead) and friendly.
Landscape broken with low hills and small woods so there is great walking to be had along the footpaths.
Wells is the nearest shopping area with supermarket and a great open air market on Wednesdays (as far as I remember).
Cathedral probably great if you like that kind of thing - thousands do so it is pretty touristy in season.

Stayed in the bottom end of the field. Great area for dogs, walks and quiet nights.
Site is clean and tidy and owners are friendly.
Had tent and gazebo. Will definitely return with our son as he will love the rope swing.
Missed out the Wookey Hole Inn but had temporary membership for the Wookey hole club. Had an excellent night of entertainment there with a singer, comedian and a massive stew for £4

Just returned from what can only be described as a fantastic getaway. Ourselves and four other units comprising of tents and a motorhome spent the last four nights here and all agree to have had the best time ever! A truly quiet hideaway in the middle of the country and yet walking distance to the town centre, Wokey Hole and local pub.
We were a little worried at first with the site only having one shower and two toilets but even though there were quite a few units on site, there was never a really long wait.
A small issue with the electric one night which was due to it tripping - didn't find the reset switch until the next morning! And with so many of us using the same supply, things did run a little slower than usual, but made it all part of the fun!
The farmer - what can we say? if he was more laid back he'd fall over and always helpful and friendly.
We were on the second field well away from any others. There was so much space no-one ever complained of any noise and the kids had a whale of a time exploring and using many of the rope tree swings.
We all made the most of the campfire and sat around into the early hours - again no complaints - others were doing the same thing.
Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to getaway from it all and do next to nothing or be near enough to a town but still be in the middle of nowhere
Loved it so much we all can't wait to go back!

We have been going camping here for around 5-6 years, and never get bored there is loads to do there is electricity, 2 toilets that are clean and you don't have to queue as its quiet and 1 shower.
At the bottom of the campsite is a river and woods that you never get tired of. In the field next door there are cows but you never get woken up. The farmer is friendly and laid back. There are wookey hole caves within walking distance and cheddar, Glastonbury and well's not far away, it is an amazing place to go if you want to get away from the rush of towns and to relax in the countryside.

I loved this site so much. For 2 people £10 a night-how cheap!
The atmosphere is completely chilled and the farmer is relaxed and friendly.
Back to basics allowing firepits, and the field we stayed on was large with a wood and stream at the bottom-idyllic.
2 Toilets -fine as not a busy site.
1 shower- basic and clean.
We really enjoyed camping there, escape from the rat race.
Recommend whole heartedly.
