Very steep at the tent end, but the views are stunning. We couldn't get the tent onto a perfectly flat spot, so I had my wife in my arms all night. The slope to the beach is horrendous if you have a mobility problem and are not use to steep slopes. We arrived during the owners lunch time, so had the dubious pleasure of being greeted by a masticating member of staff. She was not very talkative and didn't make me feel welcome at all, but did point out where the pitch was on a map. The ablution block needs to be gutted and rebuilt to a decent standard. I strongly advise the use of shower shoes when using the facilities. Overall the site was quiet in the evening and sunrise/sunset was always spectacular.

Went camping on the half term with my two children and we loved the place so much that we thinking of going again in the school holiday. The view from the tent was stunning and very picturesque. The beach is a step away and a good place for fossils. Great walks on the hill and a lovely farm nearby for breakfast and fresh eggs. The people were friendly and the toilets and showers clean. Definitely a place to re-visit. Only down side is that when the place get busy it might be difficult for the children to have enough space to play.

March 2005 Spent a fantastic short stay here over the Easter weekend. The campsite has a small shop and a nice cafe which is reasonably priced, the showers and toilets were clean with piping hot water. Our tent pitch overlooked the sea and the views were stunning. If you want to stay at a small and friendly campsite right next to the beach then this is the place to go.

August 2004 Wonderful views and really close to the beach with some excellent walks. It was exposed and some bad weather claimed quite a few pitches who had to leave. Shop is well stocked but very expensive. The steep climb/descent to the toilet and showers got quite annoying at the end but in all we had a great time. Would consider going back for the views alone. Will p.s. Toilets and showers could have done with a bit of attention too.

June 04 What a lovely site this is and the views are amazing, you can see the light house at Portland Bill at night. The beach is all shingle and dogs are allowed on there, it is about 5 to 10 minutes walk from campsite. Staff were so nice and freindly, toilets and showers were cleaned on a regular basis, shop had plenty of stock and also a nice little cafe there too. If you intend to do a lot of walking then this is the site for you as it is situated just by the coastal path. The camp site is also on a hill but all pitches have been flattened out and the shower block is just down the hill. No caravans are allowed on this site and the road to the site is one lane so it can be a problem when meeting oncoming cars.

August 2003 If you want a quiet site with magnificent views, and are totally self sufficient, not requiring the toilet/shower block then this is for you. On the down side I must add that the toilet/shower block was very old, this could have been coped with, but the fact that on the 3 days we spent there neither the showers (only 2 for females) nor the toilets (5 again for females)were cleaned let it down badly. This i'm afraid meant that we left a day early not wanting to face the toilets etc., another day. 3 little girls were also afraid to go into the toilets because of the spiders - again, had they been cleaned then there should not have been the cobwebs. This could have been a wonderful site, and one you would want to visit again and again, but the toilet/shower block needed to updated and added to and DEFINITELY CLEANED!

june 2002 We spent a long weekend here with a group of families, and we had a lovely time. Facilities were good, staff were friendly, and the view is terrific from the top of the site. The only drawback was when the wind got up: parts of the site are very exposed and several tents were flattened.

Pitched our tent here for a weekend.
The good points are that the campsite is small and not crowded. The views of the coast are fantastic and there are good clifftop walks. There are also a couple of pubs within a ten minute walk.
On the negative side it is pretty exposed and in bad weather I wouldn't want to be pitched there. The showers are clean and hot but trickle water rather than shower it ! The beach cafe/shop is well stocked but pretty expensive - 2 bacon rolls and 2 coffees £7.10 !!!
Still, if the weather is good and you're looking for good views and peaceful tranquility then this site wont disappoint !!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eype - we camped in a lovely flat pitch which is cut into a very steep hill. We had termendous views out to sea and were literally only 5 minutes from the beach. There was a camp shop which doubled up as a beach cafe and was well stocked. The toilets and showers, although older than I expected were very good and always clean.
Highly recommended!
