This is a very well designed site with all the facilities modern and scrupulously clean. The hard-standings are level and large enough for any outfit. The toilets, washing-up and waste disposal areas are easily accessed and new.
Site security is taken care of by an electric barrier so your outfit should be safe.
A 5 minute drive takes you to the 'Park & Ride' to Cambridge. The cost is £2. 50 per person and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Buses are at 10 minute intervals.
2 minutes beyond the 'Park & Ride' is a massive Tesco with fuel and a car wash.
Ask the owners where else to visit locally. Their information is accurate and well researched.
The hospitality here is unequalled.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights here and we thought this to be a lovely site, very welcoming owners and helpful. You only have to look at their website to see how well laid out it is.
The facilities were very modern and clean ( I wonder if you might need more than 2 toilets for the Gents when it is busy, although I did not find any waiting when we stayed).
The individual pitches are flat and are not too close together with very good roads on site. The bus stop for buses into either Ely or Cambridge is conveniently directly outside the site.
As stated in previous reviews - it is situated right next to the main A10 but we did not find the traffic noise to be annoying. Good value for money at £16 pn. Inc EHU. We will certainly be returning later.

Each month since April we turn our car in the direction of Cambridge. We have placed our caravan on this site and it is great.
The owners are young, friendly and enthusiastic, their children are a credit to them.
When we first put up the awning on the caravan we went home and had a phone call from our daughter who lives in next village to say the awning had blown down in the wind. For personal reasons we couldn't get back for 2 weeks during which time the owners had taken down the awning folded it away and placed everything as best they could.
They are so friendly and helpful, nothing is to much trouble for them. They take an interest in you and chat to you. If you have a problem you can talk to them and ask them for their help.
The site is immaculate (grass is cut to an inch of its life). Toilets are spotlessly clean and tidy. There is an electronic barrier so the vans etc are secure. If there is a negative about the site it is because of a bit of noise from the A10 but what the heck tis better than loud music until midnight etc.
On site there is an under cover area for washing up as well as other facilities.
There is a small play area for children and at the opening of the site there is a bigger village play area.
It is easy to get to Cambridge and Ely and in the near area there is the Maize Farm which has a small play barn, animals, and a lovely coffee shop. Denny Abbey, other garden centres and lovely villages to stroll around. A large supermarket at Milton and lots of other places to visit. Or you can enjoy a day relaxing at the site.
We think of this site as our second home. Sometimes have our grandchildren with us and they also love being on site.
We cannot say more in recommendation than we go back to the site each month.
Well done you two keep up the good work.

Found this site via a location search and booked on the strength of the reviews it had received.
The site has had a lot of investment to make it look fantastic with excellent sized pitches for both hard standing requirements and tents with electrical hook up on most pitches.
The tent pitch was mown (almost with strips), flat and the ground superb for pushing in tent pegs by hand yet frim enough to hold down the tent in the 30mph plus winds and 50mph gusts on our weekend.
Both the owners (and children) are exceptionally friendly and helpful even to the point of helping me take down a gazebo in the pouring rain and wind late at night.
As mentioned in an earlier review, the site is close to the A10 and you can hear the cars when you want to but we found that unless you think about the road, you generally block out the noise and it isnt a inconvenience.
The toilets and showers are mini shower rooms with toilet, shower and basin and these were spotlessly clean, spacious and the shower had plenty of hot water at all times.
We intend to re-visit with friends. Deserves its high rating.

Visited for Easter Sunday and Monday nights, when we had a good time using this site as a base to visit nearby Ely and then Anglesey Abbey NT property.
Only booked the site on Easter Saturday evening and, as we weren't due to arrive until around 9pm Sunday evening, we told the site owners we would be late. They said that this wasn't a problem. Sure enough, when we arrived at about 8. 45pm they were looking out for us. We received a warm welcome and were shown the facilities and our hardstanding pitch.
The cost (£12. 50 for the motorhome, inclusive of two people) plus £2. 50 per night for electric hook-up, was good value for money during school holiday period (which would have meant increased/peak charges on many other sites).
On Sunday night the site was quite busy with mixture of caravans, motorhomes and a couple of tents. Monday night was quieter, as people must have gone home after Easter weekend.
The site is close to A10, which does make it easy to find (no brown signage, so make sure you take the turning for Chittering Village) but also means there is some road traffic noise. However, this didn't bother us too much.
The site is obviously new (the owner told us that this is only their first full season). The pitches are clean and level. The whole site, including the facilities (toilets and showers), is kept clean. There is an enormous separate, dedicated disabled toilet and shower unit with ramped access. There's a fridge in the veg prep area for use by campers who don't have their own. Also recycling facilities on site.
The facilities have obviously improved since the first reviews of this site were posted on, and we would say that those reviews are now an unfair reflection on the site.
We enjoyed our short stay and would certainly come back to use this site as a base for visiting attractions in the local area.

We are french and we were very happy to discover this little campsite very friendly
The owners are young and very nice people
It s not so far from Cambridge and everything is new
It s very clean ( showers and toilet) we have a little girl aged 5 ans the play area is just at the entrance of the campsite so there is not a problem for that
The price is good and we have stay here two times two night for visiting Cambridge and one for our return from Norfolk
To visit Cambridge you can park your campervan at railways station for 5 £ and have the bus it s very easy
It s a good place and I think we have to go an other time
Sorry for my english but it was necessary for me to give my review cause it s a new site and its important

We stayed here with some friends over the August Bank holiday weekend 2011.
The site is new and still being developed but the facilities are spotless, and the owners, a lovely young couple, were very friendly and helpful, giving us details of walks for our dogs, places to go, and pubs and restaurants in the area, etc. They were always on hand if you wanted to know anything and even offered to run us to the local pub!
There is some slight noise from the main road but this really did not disturb us. Recommended as a nice base to explore the surrounding area at a very reasonable rate. Would return.

Just been to this site, it is lovely. The owners are delightful people and couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. Because it is all new everything is perfect, with beautifully manicured lawns. There are excellent hardstandings with electric supply and also an area for camping. The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean, so much so that we used their facilities rather than our own. It is true the play area is NOT within the bounds of the site, but it is literally next door and the road it is situated on is a very quiet side road.
We will definitely be returning for a longer stay as there is plenty to see and do in the area. Wish we could find more sites like this one on our travels.

I am submitting a late review of this site because when visited the site had only just opened and was plagued with teething problems with the pitches and water / electric supplies what were beyond the owners control.
I found the owners very friendly and obliging with any request ot questions, nothing was to much trouble for them, the pitches where unfinished but neatly laid out, Toilets where kept clean.
Location is very good for Ely, Cambridge, Duxford, Tesco & local shops.
Despite the teething problems I intend returning to the site this year.

I'm afraid I have to completely concur with the previous review and wish I had seen it before spending two nights this week at The Travellers Rest.
It was unfinished. There was no turf to pitch our tent and no grass for the children to play on, just muddy top soil. The play area should be listed as a local amenity not a facility as it is not part of the campsite and is right on the main road so not safe for young children to play in alone.
There was no hot water for our entire stay. We were offered a kettle on complaint but it wasn't there when we arrived. We weren't told about the lack of hot water until we had already pitched our tent so we put up with the site as we were only there for two nights, otherwise we would have left. We were offered a very measly discount when we complained.
The toilets were kept very clean which was the only plus point although we were unable to use the showers.
There was no wired in electrics so there was a noisy generator whirring continuously, on top of the noise from the busy A10 which is right next to the campsite. It felt like sleeping on a motorway.
Owner's comment: As of July 2011 there is now mains electric, 2 showers for the ladies and 2 for the gents, 3 toilets for the ladies and 2 for the gents. There is hot water in the toilets and all showers work and the washing up area also has hot water.
