We stayed at this lovely spacious, open and well kept campsite for the first time over the bank holiday with a group of friends.
We were made to feel very welcome by the Bob the site manager, who you saw regularly over the weekend.
Only £10 a night for caravan with electric hook up - Great value for money
Only 5 mins drive from the pretty town of St Ives
A very enjoyable weekend, will be visiting again
Thank you XX

We spent two delightful weeks on this wonderful site with the Retired Caravaners Association. This was our first visit but the R. C. A. Makes this one of their premier rally's. The site itself is very spacious over many acres consisting of three large fields. The owner, Mark, is very friendly and readily to impart his tremendous knowledge of the history, ecology and use of the countryside. An outstanding feature of the farm is the encouragement and sustainability of wild life. Large areas of land are left uncultivated around each of the fields for this purpose. This has the effect of allowing animals, birds and insect life to abound.
Those with interest in wild life will be amazed at the variety of wild life on display. There are some really lovely walks around the farm which are quite suitable for people who are not as active as they would like to be. There is a small lake on site stocked with enormous Carp who come to the surface if you feed them and voraciously consume the food. There are showers and unisex toilets on site, these are adequate, clean but not quite up to the standard of modern sites. There are washing up sinks outside of the toilets but they weren't working when we were there. There is a delightful 17 century restored barn on site which our association used for entertainment functions, this is well lit and has overhead heaters.
The barn is steeped in history and of interest to those with an architectural bent.
The Bus-Way which is a disused railway line, concreted over, two tracks, which automatically guide the buses along at speeds of up to 70 mph from t. Ives to Cambridge in a matter of minutes.
This is an experience not to be missed, slightly scary with the driver just sitting there and not steering.
Bus passes are accepted.
Overall, a very acceptable holiday. One other thing not to be missed is Houghton National Trust Mill.
Go on 'grinding day' if possible, very rewarding.

An incredibly spacious campsite for a tent, or caravan or motorhome, we paid just £8 a night for the tent with all the space we could ever want and ten times more. Hot showers and toilets on site, clean, tidy conservationist farm, and the farmer/owner could not have been more helpful. Five minutes outside St Ives, 15 minutes maximum from A1. Express buses to Cambridge from St Ives. Highly recommended.

We have visited this site annually for about the last 6 or 7 years, with our car owners club. We always camp on the 'Rally Field' but from what I see of the touring site it looks really nice, the loos, although unisex, are always kept clean & tidy, the showers are free and there is a large barn which is available for functions [we always have a bar set up in there when with our car owners club].
The surrounding area is really nice, St Ives itself is a charming little town and Ely is also worth a visit. The Nene Valley Railway [steam engines!] is'nt too far away either.
The site owner is a really helpful friendly guy, there are some nice walks around the area and its very peaceful.
AS I stated earlier, I cant really comment on the touring field, but if you're looking for a site to hold a group meeting, [Car Clubs, 'Bike Clubs, Camping Clubs. Or whatever, there was a Church Camping Club due there the week after us]. This site just cant be beaten.

We shall be going back to this lovely secluded site, just 5 minutes drive to St. Ives lovely little town with a river running through, very picturesque. Handy for a visit to Cambridge a park and ride runs from St Ives. The City of Ely is around 20 mins awayand is well worth visiting.
The site has 2 very clean unisex toilets and showers. There is a small tesco express and a pub that serves good food 2 minutes drive away, or a nice walk if you are energetic. There are some lovely walks from the site through countryside. Mainly grass pitches but very spacious our stay was very peaceful watching the goose, duck, pheasants and rabbits get up to their antics.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to go. What a great setting. As others have said Mark, the owner, is so helpful and full of local knowledge. He has recently added a small but adequate toilet/shower block and keeps the site very tidy. There are lots of public footpaths for those who like to stroll in the countryside with a good variety of wildlife around. Set on a working farm you also have the opportunity to see a variety of farming tasks if you are into that type of thing. While staying I saw pheasant, black squirrel, buzzard, rabbit, plover and even a monkjack one evening.
Nice relaxed site, no defined pitches, good electrics. Plenty of water taps. Coop supermarket only 5 minute drive or footpath from site. Local area steeped in history (Cromwell country).
Also the new guided busway now whisks you straight into the heart of Cambridge in no time from st. Ives town. Great site, Great location and very affordable.

We stayed on here after the CCCF Spring Bank Holiday Rally which had been held on site over the Bank Holiday. Mark, the owner is one of the friendliest most helpful people you could wish to meet nothing is too much trouble. The only down side is the lack of facilities which tends to preclude Campers from staying there. It is within walking distance of a Coop Supermarket and not too far from the town centre.
