We had a great 5 days staying at Pipcott. Mike was very efficient with his welcome email giving best route etc. He is very flexible in terms of arrival / departure times.
The site was very quiet set in the small village of West Down with its pub and community shop.
Facilities were clean and in good order.
Only 16 pitches with ample space and electric. Good walks from the site. Easy access to Ilfracombe and Wollacombe.
So lucky to have been able to take up a last minute cancellation for the bank holiday weekend

We loved our stay at Pipcott Fields.
The owners were very friendly and full of useful information, both via email before our stay and in person whilst we were there.
The site is peaceful, well maintained and has very spacious pitches.
Would definitely return there ourselves and recommend to others.

A super site; roomy, excellent facilities, location great with shop and pub nearby, and helpful and friendly owners.
Good for Ilfracombe with harbour, shops, restaurants, and Tunnels Beach. Woolacombe and Putsborough beaches nearby for sand, swimming and surfing.
We will be back.

This was our first time at Pipcott, but we hope it won’t be our last. In 20 plus years of camping together this is probably the best site we have stayed at!
The site is located in the heart of the small and very friendly village of West Down, a few minutes’ drive to Ilfracombe and Braunton, and is a short drive to several lovely beaches. West Down has a community run shop just outside the campsite gate which sells a good range of items and freezes ice packs for a donation. The village pub is also close to the site and serves good food in a friendly atmosphere.
We stayed on the main field, which has a slope, but our pitch was close to being level. The facilities were spotlessly clean, with 2x showers and 2x WC’s. At peak times you sometimes had to queue to use the WC or shower (I believe the owners are hoping to increase the facilities).
There was an outside table tennis table and a box with some balls and games in which could be borrowed. The pitch sizes are very generous, and the centre of the field is left free which provided plenty of space for kids to play etc. Each pitch had its own wooden picnic bench which was nice.
The owners were absolutely lovely, being very friendly, helpful and relaxed.

We were lucky to just turn up at this lovely site and get a pitch I would book to avoid being disappointed. Mike the very friendly owner is strict on just 5 vans on the site, although the field would not be crowded if there were fifty vans on it.
There are picnic tables dotted around the field for the use of all campers. The showers and toilet block is small but well equipped and always clean. There is a family/disabled. Shower/toilet room. The site is in a lovely village with a pub and a community village shop within 30 metres staggering distance of the site.
We stayed two nights here and then went to another site which was twice the cost and not as good, we then came back for another night here rather than go elsewhere.

An attractive, restful and well maintained site owned by a very friendly husband and wife team who could not be more helpful. The site is well situated for Ilfracombe and the adjacent coastline or exploring the North Devon area.
We found the facilities up to date and very clean. Two shower rooms(one a shower and toilet suite with facilities for the disabled) and an additional separate toilet suite, completely adequate.
Pitches are on gently sloping, well drained short grass with E. H. U. And a bench/table.
The welcoming Crown Inn is immediately opposite the campsite entrance and is a good family pub/restaurant. It offers good food and drink with a smile.
This site is a gem and we will definitely return next year.

Booked a week here in November because it was one of the few places in the area we needed that was open. I would not hesitate to come here again, what a lovely friendly welcome and Dog friendly, couldn't be more helpful. It is a very pleasant quiet place in a lovely village. Toilet/ shower block very clean and tidy and it has a wet room. There is a shop/ off license at the end of the driveway and a pub across the road. It is a short journey by car to nearby towns, beaches and all other needs. Would like to see some hard standings, other than than it is perfect.

Brilliant, this site has been added. What a little gem this is. Situated in West Down, a very small and peaceful village, not far from Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Barnstaple.
The owners run this small site wonderfully. The site is on a slight slope but not an uncomfortable one. There are two further fields, used for dog exercising, although it is possible to camp in one if you don't want EHU. We did. Each point had double plugs. The site is clean and well maintained. The grass is short but very dense, making it pleasant to walk in in bare feet. Two showers and toilets, the showers are free, 'push button' ones, and very hot, but they don't have washing up facilities. There is a local shop at the main entrance and a tesco in Ilfracombe, (sat-nav showed us we were there but it was on a road and nowhere in sight, we continued to drive down the hill and a sign was there, one of those doubling back on yourself moments) not too far away. The local pub doubles as a restaurant and is very popular. A caravan site is up the hill so many people come down from that one. It's also dog friendly, mine stayed under the table happily.
Plenty of taps and bins, 'he' is keen on recycling so has plenty of bins for various rubbish, glass, card, compost and general. There is a small garden to uses with picnic tables and a ping pong table. There are also a few picnic benches around the site if you need to use them.
The usual requests about tethering dog at tent and picking up dog foul, but the use of two fields for exercising is brilliant.
A quiet site, my daughter commented it was 'an early to bed site', meaning people didn't sit up till the early hours socialising. Or at least it wasn't whilst we were there, but it was still very quiet. The only alarm call we had was the cockerel and sheep in a (what felt like) nearby field. There wasn't any on site entertainment, a couple of teenage lads threw a rugby ball around, but there is so much space, it didn't infringe onto other pitches. It would suit people who want a get away from it all break. It really is quiet.
Well worth it, I'd certainly go back and looking forward to it.
