Ex site. Could not praise wardens highly enough. Very helpful and courteous. Site very clean and toilet block is the same. Decent size pitches.

Lovely little river for paddling in. Short walk to Hope village (Warning-Take your own seat if walking to Hope as there is only one seat in the whole of it!)

Altogether an ex scenic area with many good walks and cycle rides on old railway lines( Through tunnels and the kids loved it)

Don't forget to visit nearby reservoir that was used for Dam Buster training during 2nd world war.

Facilities only 9 as I don't play table tennis !

Excellent site in good walking distance of Hope and 2 miles flat walk to castleton.

The on site facilities are clean and easily accessible.

Would request a pitch further into the site as the road is quite busy and traffic noise is experienced on the pitches close to the road

A very clean site with all amenities, spotless facilities too.

Great place for walkers.

Close to Hope village where you get something to eat.

Would definitely return there.

Excellent well set out site. Really well organised. Brand new shower and toilet block. Great location.

Loved the herb garden, the dog walking field next door that was very secure and also the buttie van.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Finally stayed after trying to get on as its extremely popular due to the location, amenities are excellent and staff very helpful and friendly.

The local takeway indian delivers to the postbox if you order and the local Spar stocks everything should you have forgotten anything.

Lovely walk into castleton via the fields if you turn left near the church in Hope, only downside is some of the styles are not doggy friendly and you will have to carry over if your dog isn't good with them.

Lots to do in the area and we are lucky its only an hour or so from home so will return often as we loved it and so did our two labs.

What was not to like! I honestly can't recommend this site enough.

Good sized pitches, friendly staff, clean facilities, but the best part is the location.

Go out of the site and turn left. Walk a short distance into Hope where you'll find pubs, shops and restaurants. From there you can either walk via the pedestrian path or there is a beautiful public footpath to castleton. There you will find loads of pubs, shops and tourist attractions.

From the site the railway station is just a 5 minute walk. We did the circular walks from train stations and saved petrol, parking and driving time. It was £2. 60 open return to Bamford. £3. 80 open return to Hathersage.

There was just so much to do.

We will definitely return!

On arrival we were greeted, shown to our pitch & where all the facilities were.

Loos & showers are very clean & had plenty of room & hooks for towels, clothing etc.

Staff in the shop were extremely helpful showing us where the best local walks were.

The site & pitches are well organised & had enough room for our tent and a windbreak to create an outside sitting area.

Didn't need the car, found enough to do exploring the area. Hope has a couple of nice pubs but we liked the ones castleton better. However, would definitely recommend The Curry Kabin for an amazing Indian.

Overall, the dedication of all the staff make this site but please keep the electrical tent pitches as I'd love to return one day.

Excellent site for visiting the caves which are nearby.

Pitches are flat, facilities are good will be back.

Dislikes were road and rail noise and people who let their dogs constantly bark at other dogs. Try training them.

Overnight stopover on way home and very impressed. Excellent access & egress from main road, really good sized pitches and very good toilet & shower facilities.

Arrived just before closing time then shown tor pitch by very helpful gentleman who explained everything we needed to know. 5 minute walk into village where couple of pubs doing food.

We went to Old Hall and had a real nice meal. Also an Indian restaurant as well so good choice for dining out.

Also a handy shop which stocked pretty much everything you need too. Onsite breakfast van which was great as well.

Love to return for longer sometime.

 Nice tidy site

Excellent location for walking

Pub 5mins walk

Castleton 30min walk

Loads of trails Close by

The one downside was traffic noise which will mean we will not be back unfortunately
