Stayed here a couple of times this year, only 30 min's from where we live .Ideal for a drink round Shields or curry or the amusements for the kids. Some nice sea views too. We did not try the showers as we only stay for 1 night at a time {they don't look very inviting to be honest} Wardens are friendly and helpful.
We will probably revisit a few times this year, but having to vacate by 10 am is a bit early if you have to take your awning down and have kids to look after. If you are thinking of trying this site I would say give it a go.

We thought this site was great, Very clean and tidy. The camping site was sheltered with trees but quite small but we were close to all the ammenities. The warden and his wife wery helpful realy worth the trip if the weather is good.

Been to this site a few times and it is great, right opposite the beach with some good views of the sea. Very clean and tidy with a very helpful warden. The town centre is a 5 - 10 minute walk away with a park and amusements even closer. Will be returning again without a doubt.

Summer 2002 Been to this site twice now and even though it's just down the road. It's a bit basic, but nice and clean and within walking distance from town. We found it was cheaper to stay there overnight than get a taxi home after night clubbing - as South Shields has a great night life. The site is quiet enough though - especially if you have a hangover from the night before, and there is a milkman that comes round in a van in the morning with eggs, bread and milk etc and fresh fish and chips from the amusement arcade on the sea front. Ca recommend!

We just returned from a weekend on this site, as we were novice campers we were a bit aprohensive but with no need. Everything was great, the showers were clean and constant hot water. The camping site was sheltered with trees and we were close to all the ammenities. The warden and his wife were extrememly helpful and we enjoyed it and would advise anyone that this is a great site.

A well situated site that is actually on bents park road. As well as static caravans there is upwards of 72 pitches all with hook up and sheltered areas for tents Two toilet blocks one with showers. Waste water disposal point and bottled gas available. this is a nice clean site with a sea view (50 yards or so away )let down by the fact there is no childrens play areas.
A large park next door with a boating lake and miniature steam train not forgetting the fair and so close to the beach with 5 very nice pubs 2-3 with in/outdoor kids areas. and the town centre a short walk away more than compensates Check out marsden grotto pub about 2 miles up the coast built in smugglers caves loking out to marsden rock A lift takes you down the cliff face or there ar steps for the more adventurous.
