WOW what a find! A very safe, friendly family site. The family that run the site actually live there too and are available for the visitors when you need them, no matter how small or big the problem there is always a smile and a cheery comment.
We needed cheery comments and smiles as the weather was atrocious. The hard work that the family put in to try and help us when the ground was so soggy was amazing. They put in hard core tracks so we could get our vans in and out. If you needed help they would tow you out. We were there for 2 weeks and got so cross with people leaving and churning up the grass for the next visitors, why couldn't they just ask for help?
The toilets were as clean as you could expect in the monsoon like conditions. I saw them being cleaned at least 3 times a day. When Mawgan Porth was struck by the Novovirus the staff all had hand gels to help prevent the infection being passed on.
The club house is very friendly and the food (we recommend the wedges) and entertainment excellent, the highlight was Arthur- a very good musician and all round entertainer. You have to listen very carefully when he changes the words of the songs! He also has his own 'choir'(a group of campers who assist him with song actions!)
The shop is small but well stocked with all the essentials. The 'Ladies' that work there are very friendly and helpful.
The laundry room is good and when I reported the tumble dryer was faulty it was fixed within 2 hours-what service.
The local pub The Travellers Rest is fantastic too. The Landlord and his wife are very friendly. Sunday lunch is excellent value-get there early or its all gone.
We will definitely be returning to Trevarrian Holiday Park next year. Our children don't want to go anywhere else now they have discovered it.

Arrived early but got on site straight away, what a great start we thought until it went down hill from there. The weather was very wet which made the site into a mud bath after a week. The sites cleaner got stuck in the mud and struck our neighbours tent, eventually they dug up the mud and put down hardcore. Well done! But next time dont start digging site up with a JCB at 8am.
Good site location for Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth, even better if your a plane spotter, airport only 1 mile away. Nice to wave to passengers who are off to warmer climates. This site is high and gets windy. The pitches aren't as spacious as they say.

I have to agree with sally43. Overall, this site looks to me tired and dowdy; however there is some new building work going on at reception area.
This site's facilities are functional but lack-lustre. Toilets blocks were a bit dated and not kept spotless during our stay
Washing up area - plugs missing most of our stay. They are hand-washing sinks and lack a draining board. Sounds petty, but these things really matter when living in a tent! .
Playground uninspiring, outdoor pool OK.
The location of the site is set back from a cliff top, and has great views, but as a result is quite exposed; we struggled all week in tent with howling winds and driving rain ( not sites fault I know, but all was calm at the bottom of the hill!)so I think tent people should be made aware of this prior to booking.
Site shop is okay, bar/entertainment area OK
Site near fantastic beaches, and coastline. Bedruthan steps a must - the bit of coast you see on all the tourist info.
Go to St. Mawgan for pretty village and great pub called the Falcon, with lovely outdoor area and decent food.

After leaving home at 1.30am (we couldn't sleep) we arrived at the site a good few hours earlier than it was stated that we could check in. The guy in the office didn't bat an eyelid and gave us a pitch. Actually we were allowed to choose our own as the one we had been allocated had a faulty electrical hook-up but they knew this and told us straight away.
Pitches were HUGE and well spaced although the site was not full while we were there. With a new van we struggled through sleep depravation to errect our awning and when this was done staggered down to the campshop at about 12.15 in search of food. There we found it was shut between 12 and 4, again this was not a problem and the lady opened up for us with a smile.
The site is very high and it was very windy during our stay. This didn't bother us but a couple of tents didn't survive the experience. Not the site's fault though.
There are two quite sizable shower blocks. The one near the clubhouse being much more modern. There was no heating in the one near us so it was a tad chilly but then the weather was pretty awful.
Plenty of water points dotted around.
This is a family run site and all the staff were friendly, helpful and laidback. They were in the process of extending the office when we were there and many things looked like that had a spruce up over the winter. We've not been to many sites but this is our favourite. We will definitely visit again. We were in the top field so didn't get any noise from the bar. It's very near Newquay airport and a few planes passed over on their way to land but they're only little ones so it was quite a novelty rather than an annoyance.
It's very handy the pool being open until 9pm and the bar did a wide range of drinks and simple bar food. Eg fish and chips, burger and chips, scampi and chips etc etc etc.
The pub just outside the park called The Travellers Rest did a good meal and sold traditional Cornish ales. We can both thoroughly recommend the Pear Rattler (a pear cider).
Mawgen Port and Watergate Bay nearby. Few miles from Newquay and Padstow so lots to do locally.
Our only complaint was that we went there for some kite surfing on Watergate Bay but the wind was in the wrong direction all week. Must remember to make a booking for that next time. Thoroughly good site.

We stayed at this campsite two years ago and we had a wonderful two week stay. We decided to return this year and were amazed by all the improvements made to the park. Both toilet blocks have been refurbished to a very high standard and were spotless and New roads have been put in since our last visit. The management were very friendly and always at hand to cater for all our needs. All the facilities were open and we enjoyed some excellent evening entertainment in the bar. We also were impressed with the freshly baked bread available from the camp shop. The site is an excellent base for anyone wanting to visit this part of the country, beautiful coastal walks are nearby which take you to the beaches of Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth. We have already booked for next year and highly recommend the site to both old and young.

We visited the site for a half term break. I was very impressed with the feel of the site. Everyone was very friendly. The kids playground was simple but served the purpose. Toilet block was very clean on all but the wettest days. Dish washing facilities were inside (can't believe there are still sites that think you want to wash your dishes in the rain). Pitches were a very good size. We fitted our eight man dome/tunnel style tent and still had room for the car. The shop was very good with fresh hot croissants available (but get there at 9am cause they go quickly). We had some bad weather while we were there, I came back with my two young kids (4 & 6) needing some food and the owner kindly opened the shop to help us out, despite being out of hours. The whole site is very well maintained. After each period of rain there was a guy out working on the verges to ensure the site didn't turn into a mud bath. We will definitely be going to this site again. I've had bad experiences before at sites with more facilities (like leisure pools and nightclubs). I can also recommend Mawgan Porth which is the closest beach to the site. Takes about 1 minute to drive to. As well as the beautiful beach it has a great little shop called Betty's and a superb pub, that is child friendly and has just been refurbished, called the 'Merrymoor Inn'.

I felt that this site was tatty and run down. The pitch we were allocated sloped sharply and we had to ask to move which the owner agreed to, although didn't seem very happy about it. It was very noisy and there were teenagers on the play area just behind our caravan in the early hours of the morning screaming and shouting which we found disturbing. I had been to the site several years ago and it appears to have deteriorated since then. I have visited about 20 different sites this year and this was only one of two that I didn't like. It would probably benefit from some reinvestment works to modernise it, and perhaps a greater staff presence to deter low level antisocial behaviour from some of the younger holiday-makers. In the week that I was there I witnessed a teenager stealing one of the pool cues from the games room and shouting and screaming from young people into the early hours on the play area. We were also fearful one night when what sounded like a drunken male began hammering on caravan doors nearby demanding a mobile phone and a youth tried to take money from my 8 year old son. Personally I wouldn't go to this particular site again.

Was disappointed with this site - but our first in the Newquay area so maybe in comparison to others it is good. I feel the site buildings look tatty - in need of some TLC and a paint job and the loos and showers again a bit grim - not quite the 'highest standard' of the brochure.
The website does say 'a quiet site' but we were surrounded by noisy lively families larking about into the night.
This could be my mistake and to be expected from a site with entertainment though. We were pitched near the clubhouse and not having been to one with entertainment before I naively thought that this meant the bar/entertainment would be tucked away behind closed doors and didn't expect to have thumping disco music belting out 100 yards away.
Location - great location for accessing beaches and easy to get into Newquay or up to Padstow but not a sheltered site - quite exposed to high winds. Overall I just felt disappointed after reading earlier reviews - felt it was very ordinary and tired looking and I can't agree with the earlier review reference to 'simply the best' - standards are adequate but they are relative and I have been to some cracking - cheaper - sites albeit with no entertainment.

Spent almost a week here in the most glorious weather. Site was just what we wanted - family friendly, not too big and noisy. One of the shower blocks appears to have recently been updated with some vanity cubicles and sensible sized shower rooms where your clothes don't get wet while you're showering - however I used the other block one morning and that's very tired and old but "did the job". Nice outdoor swimming pool open until 9pm. Stayed there the first week of the school summer hols and the site was not full but the following week there were no pitches available at all whether electric or non-electric - but I guess that's the same on most Cornwall sites at peak season apart form sites with overflow fields. On-site shop sells the basics. Nearest supermarket is Morrisons in Newquay which was busier than I could've imagined but so well stocked that apart from finding a parking space it was great - but not easy to find so I was glad I'd asked directions over the phone first. Small bar/clubhouse on site. Didn't try it out (not our thing) but heard it! Site is well placed for the lovely beach at Mawgan Porth but the car parks there get full by lunch time so get down there early or else leave it until late afternoon. The public car park there is £3 a day. But there's another one, adjacent to the pub/hotel and just as close to the beach, which charges £2 which is refundable if you spend £8 that day on food/drink etc. in the pub/chippy. Car park attendant there appears to clock off about 3pm so after that you don't pay. Helpful lifeguards on the beach there - came to hubby's aid when he was stung/bitten/whatever by a weaver fish. Apparently this is common at low tide so invest in a pair of beach shoes for in the water. Overall had a superb holiday and would use Trevarrian again. Worked out at £25 per night for 2 adults and two kids with elec hook-up. Explained when I booked that we'd need a very big, level pitch and that was exactly what we got. Looking around I'd say pitch size varied quite a bit but there seemed to be no one bothered if you parked your vehicle outside your pitch, on the roadways but as I said, the site wasn't full when we were there - if as many people parked outside pitch lines the following week, when full, I can envisage it being a bit of a problem.

We had a wonderful week here (Spring bank holiday). Toilets and showers were spotless. Large pitches, plenty of space, shop on site with essentials plus fresh bread and milk each day. Children's arcade / pool room with small club house. Outdoor pool was lovely. Would definitely return.
