We have just spent 3 nights at this site and it was 2 nights too many. The couple running it were great, so helpful and always doing something to try and improve the site, reseeding bare areas and filling potholes in the road.
But despite being very clean the toilet/showers are overdue for a refurbishment, and the busy A361 passes the site wite lorries using it all day and night, the minor road from which you access the site also carries very fast traffic.
This is all such a pity because it is in a nice area with good access to some lovely places. Try Snowshill Manor, great for children and adults and lovely meals as well.

We stayed here for three nights after collecting our first ever caravan from Lechlade, some 20 miles away. We figured it was just enough distance for us on a first outing and, having been seasoned campers in the past, we were pretty apprehensive about this caravanning lark. We needn't have worried.
The wardens couldn't have been more helpful, even though they seemed to be pretty busy from dawn to dusk. They popped around and gave us tips, and put us right on a couple of things.
Toilets and showers are kept scrupulously clean and the whole site is kept in good order. Chipping Norton is only a couple of miles away. Shame there's not a pub in a shorter walking distance.
The fish and chip van visits on a Saturday night, a welcome rest from cooking. The guys also had a day fly fishing at Salford Trout Lakes which is in a beautiful setting and provided a good supper in the evening.

Visited this site for the first time with my husband, two children (aged 3 and 5) and our dog. Team in the office were extremely friendly and helpful when we arrived.
Liked the fact that we were left to get on with putting out tent up, rather than being watched over and the children loved the play area on site. Although it is only simple with 2 swings and a slide, they spent many happy hours playing there with the other children on site.
Toilet/shower facilities are showing their age, however they were kept clean as was the washing up area. One very small negative (and I really am being picky here!) is that the shower heads are mounted very low down on the wall meaning that even I had to duck slightly to wash my hair. Apparently the showers in the mens were the same, so anyone over 6 foot would surely struggle!
Great place for dogs - there is a short dog walk on site however you are far better crossing the road onto the bridleway (is signposted and only 50 yards from site) where dogs can have a good run off their lead and you can enjoy beautiful scenery with horses and sheep in the fields.
There are also plenty of places nearby which are great to visit if you have children and dogs - Birdland and the Cotswold Wildlife Centre are fantastic days out and extremely dog friendly which was a real breath of fresh air! Would advise you to take a picnic for lunch if the weather is fair though as food was pricey at both attractions. Batsford Arboretum was also a great day out which our Westie thoroughly enjoyed, even on his lead!
There is a road running alongside the campsite which was noisy at times, however we really didn't mind as it made the site a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds as you were so close to a well connected road.
Would recommend rock pegs for tents/awnings as the plastic pegs which came with our Outwell tent were bent like bananas when we pulled them from the ground to pack away!
Would recommend this site without hesitation, and will most definitely be returning next year.

This is a well sheltered, delightful, smaller C & C Club Site that we enjoyed a lot. The appearance, facilities and night-time quietness are to the C & C Club's normal high standards, and it is ideally situated for visiting Cotswold villages, Oxford and Blenheim.
There is some early morning noise from the adjoining road which may bother light sleepers in tents and takes the edge of an otherwise ideal location
The toilet / shower block is showing its age although the staff keep it immaculate and as fresh as they can. Nice place, well recommended.

My husband and I camped with tent here for a Friday - Sunday weekend, along with our friends who had a caravan. Our friends had their son plus two grandsons aged 3 and 4. Luckily we were on a flat pitch, but a lot of the site was very sloping. The site was clean and tidy and the facilities were a bit dated, but clean. However, the closeness of the A road caused excessive noise which was non-stop all through the night.
A couple of things which I think need to be looked at:
1. All though the grass site was mowed well, around the edges were lots of stinging nettles which should be cut down.
2. I think the dog walk area should be gated off as our friends' caravan was pitched next to it and the entrance to the small wooded area (the A road was a steep drop from the walk) was a constant intrigue.

Just got back from spending a week here with our 6year-old son.
So first the Pros
1) Really friendly site wardens
2) Plenty of hot water in the showers and no need to keep pushing a button to start it up again.
3) Roomy pitch size.
4) Close to Chipping Norton which has plenty of pubs/restaurants and shops, inc Sainsburys & COOP.
Now the Cons
1) The site is full of rocks just below the surface. I am going to have to replace about a third of my pegs before I use the tent again.
2) The kids play area is a bit limited, only 2 swings and a climbing frame/slide.
3) Noise from the nearby A road.
4) Shower block a bit dated and only 3 showers each.
On the whole we enjoyed our stay however I will now be buying rock pegs.

For our first outing in our folding camper we wanted the reassuring standards of a CCC site and weren't disappointed. Wardens were friendly and helpful despite our managing to arrive right when they'd settled down to their Sunday roast and we were given a choice of pitches in the upper field. Site is generally flat on 2 levels and none of the pitches are too far from the facilities, which were as clean and modern as you expect on a CCC site. One criticism I would make is that the showers, though having plenty of hot water at a good pressure only seem to be made for campers under 5 feet tall! A little extra copper tubing required to the shower heads please, I'm sure the club can afford it :-) This is a nice place to camp though, convenient for Chipping Norton's facilities and visiting the Cotswolds and will certainly be on our list of places for a get-away again.

We stayed at this site for two nights and had a fantastic time. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The facilities VERY clean but slightly outdated. The pitches were well kept and marked out. There was a small play area with swings, climbing frame and slide. The only fault we could find was the noise from the road behind the site, which was only noticeable when loud farm vehicles were passing. We would highly recommend this site for a weekend break, if you want to visit places be prepared to travel, as we found very little to do in the immediate area.

We choose this site as 1, its a C&CC site, 2, it was Oxford way & 3, after two weeks touring South West England, I wanted somewhere were I knew the showers would be spotless.
We arrived and after waiting while different Wardens decided at what point and who would check us in (it was 3pm by now), we were shown to our pitch. I pointed out to the fella that I had booked a Grass Electric pitch plus awning not a mud patch with a bit of grass but the comedy was lost so I accepted it knowing the awning tiles would cover it and at least it was dry.
WARNING, the site has very hard stones just an inch or so beneath the grass on both levels so rock or steel pegs may be required for you awning, tent pegs. We helped a tenting family set up during our stay and found an angle of 30 degrees helped but still bent about 75% of their pegs.
This toilet block was old but kept to a high standard and one night whilst using it, a found a Warden in the block at 2250hrs so it seems they don't rest easily.
If your tall like me you might find the shower heads annoying as they don't really move much and set at a height of about 5 foot 8 inches and so with me, at 6 foot plus, had to constantly bend over to get a decent shower although on the plus side, they are not button or sensor controlled so you get a constant, hot shower.
The site is overall lovely, and the playground is just enough to keep the kids amused for those moments in the day that you want them out of the van, but this site is soft balls only as there is no field or meadow nearby.
The dog walk is not much but a 50 yard (signposted) walk from the site to the Woodland walk is well worth it if doggie needs a good run or you just fancy a walk.
When you arrive, just check what times things open and close there as the toilet blocks closed 1030 till 1115 each day, then the shop closed 12pm till 4pm daily.
Overall the site was lovely, even if the Wardens seem to have a love / hate relationship with you. My wife asked to by a flag while there for her collection and was told she had to return to the van and get our booking number to buy it! Not nice when our van was pitched at the furthest pitch away from the office.
Apart from the above good and bad bits, I feel that the staff go a big way to keeping this site fresh despite that fact that it is becoming old and could do with a little bit of our membership money being put back into it as it was nearly full throughout our stay.

Just returned from weekend stay at this campsite. Arrived in the pouring rain to find they had lost our booking, they found us a tent pitch but with no electric hook up.The pitch was located close to the road at the far end of the site. Traffic runs very close and can be very noisy at this end of the site. Washing and toilet block facilities were kept tidy and clean, but annoyingly they were closed from 10:30 to 12:30 to perform this operation which seemed both a little excessive and poorly timed if you enjoy a lay-in.
Pitches were a little cramped but the kids enjoyed the small play area.
Overall poor value for money and they need to sort their bookings properly. I doubt we will be returning soon to this site. The surrounding area is lovely and fortunately the rain which greeted us lifted and the sun shone for the rest of the stay.
