Got one of those £9.50 sun holidays and what can I tell you it was an absolute bargain! The season was nearly over and they were shutting up the shop but it was actually cheaper by miles than the local shop down the road!. The pool was fantastic though the changing rooms left a lot to be desired. The weather was quite bad most of the time but the lifeguard opened the pool slide (as you had to go outside to climb the steps) as soon as there was a break in the clouds. The amusement park was really well stocked and were really cheap like 20p a game and gave you tickets if you won and then you exchanged them for things like bouncy balls etc. Everyone was really friendly and as I said even though the season was closing apart from them descaling down on the shop you would never have known. A big thumbs up and we would certainly revisit.

Would not recommend this site at all, which seems a shame. We got there and had problems with a faulty gas pipe which caused a small fire under our van. There were members of staff around who came to help and were unable to figure out how to use the fire hose on the site. Luckily an extinguisher we had put the fire out but I was disgusted by the breach of health and safety regulations. We also got informed later that the hose did not actually work. The club was nice for the kids in the evening, but the pool was filthy, with nowhere secure to leave belongings, and despite claims that it was heated, this wasn't the case! The showers in the toilet block were nice and hot, but you were never actually sure whether to take the key or not, as it wasn't always locked to ensure sole use by the tourers.

I have just returned from this site, on arrival we were told we were not allowed to go on our pitch until 4pm so we decided to go down and have a look at them, well what can I say unless you want to pitch on a mountainside then don’t bother these pitches were the worst ones we have ever seen and were all just rock and certainly not level as it says in their brochure. (Pictures available if requested). If you have an awning there is no way you can sleep in it, we had to go and buy 2 camp beds as our airbed popped on the first night. Hardly any of the pitches have room for an annex. We went and complained to the general manager (we were not the only ones that did, I know of 3 others that also complained while were there) who said “well that’s the pitches we cant do anything about it, we can give you a refund or transfer you to Tymar site”, We refused both the refund (as the money wasn’t the point because the brochure said it had level pitches and the picture showed beautiful green grass we told him that this was misrepresentation. ) and the transfer as we have been to North Wales and have family there and this wasn’t somewhere we wanted to go. He did however say when we showed him the picture in the brochure that he “didn’t think that picture was taken on their site” We were then allowed to pitch up early. Having pitched up the next stop was the toilet block, it was difficult to open the ladies door as the tile floor has kid of risen a little and this stops the door from opening, you have to give it a large push, on first inspection in the first room it looked clean, however on entering the toilet there was what looked like excrement or blood smeared on the wall also the walls of the toilets hadn’t been cleaned for some time as you could see the cloth marks on the wall where it had been done were clearly growing something. The shower was next to be inspected, the tiles were absolutely filthy between the grout and the base of the shower had black fungus growing on it. I complained about the toilets and shower to the manager on the Monday morning, and nothing was done, I decided to go back on the Wednesday morning to complain but the manager was not available so I spoke to one of the girls on the reception, and she said the manager went down on the Monday and had a look but couldn’t see anything wrong (I don’t know where he was looking but I also have photos to show this as well) She came down with me to the toilet block and I pointed out all the problems including the fact that you cannot flush the toilet after someone has been on before you as it takes at least 20 minutes to fill up and that only 1 of the 5 sinks works properly as all the taps don’t work correctly and some not at all. She agreed with my findings and promptly cleaned the toilets and shower block while I was there, I pointed out that worked for the NHS and had regular contact with the Department of Health and a dirty toilet can lead to an outbreak of Gastroenteritis. You are also bombarded with signs about the place suggesting you give up your tourer in part exchange for static as there are signs for this everywhere and one even states that most of their owners do not pay site fees but someone has crossed out most and written 2 above it. Anyway having said all the above the place of Borth is very beautiful place and there are quite a lot of things to do around the area so we were lucky we could take the family off the site to do other things. We will not be returning to this site and will not be recommending it to anyone, find an alternative site to go on if you want to visit the area.
