The touring site was ok with plenty of room between pitches. Showers were a bit small but clean. The complex however was a big disappointment, we watched as a man running the candyfloss/doughnut stand sat smoking then wiped his nose down the length of his palm climbed back into the stand without washing his hands and put them into the doughtnut mix to prepare to cook. The night entertainment was ok but some members of staff that were finished their shift sat beside us swearing loudly and constantly much to my disgust as my kids were sat with us. The lake with the swan boats was stagnent and full of rubbish. We thought we would try the pool which was good and the kids enjoyed the slides but the whole place was in need to be cleaned and repairs.

Paid £100.80 for two nights fri till sun felt it was a lot of money for what it was you are outside main complex, no view very shut in. There was also a lot of rubbish in woods behind our plot 19 and a rotten dead rabbit lying. The toilet block and showers were clean and staff were friendly. No play area for kids in touring site and too far to let them down to main site.

You have to find an available pitch you are not allocated one. The toilet block was horrible the doors did not lock and were dirty, the chemical toilet was disgusting. I booked 4 days here for the children to enjoy themselves on our way home from scotland, left after 3 days.

The site was lovely, lots of things to do but the pool closes a bit early though. Ayr town is just down the road which is nice and a fun park is 2 mins well next door what is great. Definately go back but would stay in a caraven.

Disappointed with the touring site. It was the most expensive site that we stayed at in our 3 week touring holiday. (£138 for 4 nights). We were allocated a site between a lamppost and a smelly, wasp infested bin. The ground was level enough but so uneven that we couldn't even sit in the awning to eat. There was no facilities for the kids to play apart from the gravel road.
The toilet block was in dire need of rebuilding. The sanitary ware was really old and cracked. The caretaker did his best to keep it clean and fresh but it was an impossible task. There was a dish washing room in the wooden building reached by steps, but nowhere to put the dishes to drain.
We did complain at reception but all the duty manager did was empathise with us. The whole touring site is to be rebuilt soon.
It was quite a walk down to the entertainment complex, not suitable for infirm (or unfit). The complex itself it still the same with plenty for the kids. Take plenty of money for amusements etc. Pity the pool shuts so early in the evening. Would we go back?? Don't know, but not until the touring site is up to scratch.

Just been at this camp and I have been going since 2003. I would recommend it to anyone it is the best place ever. The entertainment is fab all the funstars are friendly and a good laugh. The accommodation was good caravan was clean. Bar staff are really good, shops and eating places are good quality, food is really good. Party dances were really well presented - the resident band is great and the guest appearances have been good over the years. I haven't had a complaint ever

Just returned from this site and will definitely not be going back. Don't know if we were expecting too much as we were told it had only been open to tourers for the last two to three years, but were greatly dissapointed.
Can only describe the touring section as a great big road with gravel on both sides, no shrubs, bushes, nothing, not very pretty, just two long lines of vans on either side. Shower block was a remnant of Butlins, very small, no room to move, but on the plus side showers were hot. Not very clean though.
Main clubhouse, what a disgrace, I know it is the end of the season, but it was dirty, you literally stuck to the tables when you leant on them, glasses dirty, the whole place not clean to be honest.
Sorry to moan, but I really was expecting something better from a Haven Site. Ayr itself though and its people were lovely.

SEPTEMBER 2003 We obtained our break through the Sun £9.50 deal. We stayed in a Static Caravan (my husband, myself and our children (11mths and 3 yrs).
My 3 yr old thought it was fantastic. The beach wasn`t very nice, (couldn`t sit down as it was very rocky and seaweedy).
The caravan carpets were a bit threadbare and the carpet sweeper was not the best and spat out more than it sucked up!! The best part of it was the power shower and the double bed was comfortable.
There is a diner/cafe but can`t remember the name, but the food was not too good and expensive. They also have a chinese takeaway van but the food from there again was not too our liking.
The pool was good although it had no baby changing tables/seats so found it difficult balancing/dressing an active baby on a bench.
The entertainment was really good both through the day and of a night, although you need to get there before 8.30pm to get a seat. There is a large amusement arcade with skittle lanes as well.
We enjoyed our time but don`t think we would go again. Although Culzien Castle is worth a trip.
