Both the field and the facilities were clean and well maintained.
Robert, the owner was great- he met me personally and checked that I would be ok as a lone woman and had his mobile number just in case (I was the only person in the tent field) I was also offered a site in the caravan field if I preferred. The site felt safe and some of the other visitors introduced themselves and showed me where they were if I needed help.
There are some beautiful walks directly from the site itself. Brilliant views and some really lovely woods. There’s also lots to do and see locally- Barnsley is a real hidden gem and the campsite is brilliantly located for transport as it is close to the M1 and A61.
I had a fantastic night at Greensprings- it was so tranquil. The only slight downside is no campsite shop and it’s a car ride for supplies but as long as you take what you need it’s great. It’s only a few minutes drive to the closest shops.

Absolutely loved this site, Rob met us and showed us to our pitch.
Toilets and showers immaculate, as is dish washing area.
Beautiful clean, tidy site. Many seasonal vans and all friendly.
Rob let us use ramps to level motorhome.
Access is via a barrier card, site felt very safe and secure.
Would definitely use again and recommend.
We were using site to visit daughter who lives in area.

If you like peace and quiet and enjoy being surrounded by nature you will love this site!
Close ( but not too close!) to the M1 it is ideal for a stopover but there is also plenty to do in the local area and lovely walks from the site, so ideal for dog owners too.
Pitches were spacious with plenty of level, hardstanding ( gravel) or grass pitches with hookups. The facilities were recently updated and spotless ( 10/10).
All in all a great stay unless you are looking for a site where you don't need to get in the car to get to the nearest pub or supermarket.
Thank you Richard, we will definitely return next time we are in the area!
