Glad to say we come across such a wonderful site, so close to the area we needed to stay and see family.
Rob the site owner gives you a great Yorkshire welcome and always there when you need him.
Amazed to find such a nice area with glorious surroundings, always a pheasant or two close by and all the other wildlife.
You won’t find a better shower and toilet block, each shower unit as it’s own changing area behind a locked door, very private and they are kept so clean.
We stayed last week for 3 nights and are returning again all the way from Plymouth next week. Thanks to Rob and his wonderful site my family will see a lot more of me.

Our first trip on our return to caravanning after a 15 year gap, literally picking up our "new" (to us) van from Glossop and then travelling over Woodhead to Barnsley.
Friendly welcome from Robert who showed us to our pitch and explained where everything was.
Lovely spacious and clean toilet / shower blocks even with the now inevitable Covid restrictions. Access to the site is via quite a long lane which could possibly benefit from some signs.
The grass was immaculately cut, and the pitches were good - we went on grass with electric hook-up.
I would recommend this site and will no doubt visit again

So love this quiet, peaceful campsite. Well maintained and looked after. A warm and friendly Yorkshire greeting on arrival.
Walks and surroundings are lovely for adults, children and dogs. Ideal base for exploring the local area and beyond.
The Cock Inn up the road serves a hearty meal and a friendly welcome.
We use this site as a stop over on travels north and also to visit nearby family.
The washing facilities are always spotless, a credit to the owners.
Will return and recommend.

The people who run the campsite are friendly and considerate. On arrival they asked if we would like to be near the toilet and shower block, they sited us right by it so we would not have to go far.
Everywhere was maintained and clean. The price is very reasonable. The area was near motorway but not noisy.
They let us use a field to run the dog as long as we cleaned up afterwards.
I would love to site a camper/caravan there all season. So relaxing and so much to do within short distance.
Ideal for walking holiday.

Lovely spacious and quiet site. All amenities nice and clean.
Hot showers, hot water in private wash cubicles and in washing up area.
Super area, lovely walks, close to at least 3 eating pubs.
Lastly a very helpful site warden. We will be back!

On arrival, the check in was simple, The owner told us where to go and he met us up there, he was polite but abrupt with a typical yorkshire sense of humour.
The pitch was well kept and right next to the shower block which was spotless and the showers were lovely and warm.
It really peaceful and quiet after dark and the mornings were also very quiet and tranquil, there is lots of wildlife to see and plenty of walks, we took our spaniel who loved the woodland walks,
All in all a very nice site and will definitely go back again.
Only thing I would mention is that if you are coming down the hill from birdwell the sign is hidden until you are nearly on it.
Many thanks for a lovely stay
