This was our second visit to this site. Last year we stayed for a weekend, this year we stayed for 4 days
It was very quiet, only 5 tents on the site.2 male and 2 female showers 50p each and were cold on the first day, however they were warm for the rest of our visit.
Toilets were clean, but the floor in the gents toilet has started to rot away.
Well kept site, and the owner is very helpful. Reception has a freezer for you to keep freezer packs frozen.
Access to the site is good and the surrounding area has some good places to visit.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and for £4.50 per adult per night good value for money.
Would we visit again? Yes.
Owner's comments: unfortunately there was a problem with the showers one morning but it was rectified as soon as we possible - things do sometimes go wrong on all sites - the floor in the mens portaloos - even though they were brand new in 2008 also did have a small area by the urinals which had started to sag by the end of august last year. Because of the volume of customers at the time we decided to keep them open. Both the mens and ladies portaloos have had new floors and ceilings at the end of last season as we found there was a fault with both of them even though the ladies one appeared fine.
We also have a planning application in at the moment for one large toilet and shower block to replace all the existing facilities - hopefully this will be ready for 2012.

My family love this place, we have been several times. A basic site, which we want. No bars clubs or idiots on site.
When booking bear in mind the camp site is on a peninsular and it's high up. You are bound to get a breeze. Showers are fine, toilets are clean, a 50p shower does one adult and child easily!
Owner is a great help and friendly. Fantastic views of the stars during the night, and good scenic views during the day.

We spent 3 lovely nights at Bodwrog.
The site is perfect if all you really want is space, a few essential facilities and fantastic views.
Some of the pitches had a slight slope but when we arrived it was really quiet so we had plenty of choice and loads of space. We even had space for our gazebo.
The toilets were very clean (especially the portaloos which were fab!)
There are 4 showers (2 male, 2 female). Lovely and hot. 50p a go - and easily lasts long enough (managed to do me and one of the kids with time to spare!)
There is a small reception area with a freezer, which was great for re-freezing the ice packs.
There was loads of space for the kids to run around. They took their bikes and no-one seemed to mind them cycling around, playing football / frisby etc which was great!
Obviously it's quite high up (hence the fab views) but as a consequence it does get quite windy! We were unlucky with the weather but it certainly didn't spoil our time there.
Locally there's a good small supermarket (Londis). Not far from Abersoch and loads of good beaches.
All in all, a great campsite. Excellent value. Would definitely go again.

- After a nightmare day of being let down by 3 other campsites and being re-directed due to a fire blocking our road, it was a massive relief to finally set up here!
- The medium sized site is on top of a hill, with breathtaking views across the coast and to distant mountains.
- It was busy, with a lot of children and it was noisy during the day.
- Reasonably priced at £12 a night.
- The shower/toilet block was ancient. The decrepit shower was somewhat pricey at 50p a go. Owner's comment: The toilet block was built in 2000 making it eight years old - further to that there are a further two brand new portakabin toilet blocks fitted in April 2008
- There is a slight slope to most pitches but nothing of significance.
- Theres a pub down the road, and further down is a small supermarket (a short car journey for non-walkers).
- I got up at dawn one morning and had a long walk to the beach at Llanbedrog, a fantastically scenic area. The sand has some pebbles, but it is so beautiful and peaceful there. I walked to the top of Llandbedrog head (a steep climb but worth it), and the view was awe-inspiring.

This is a fantastic site, our caravan is staying there for the summer. When I first arrived, I had forgot the caravan keys, and the owner helped me break into my van. Now he is holding the keys for us, so our friends are able to use the van, when we aren't using it. The owner is lovely and really helpful. The awning was wet, when we had to leave, and he offered to take it down for us, when it had dried out. What a star!
The facilities are fantastically basic, the children had to make friends and do fun kid things, without a juke box, or arcade in sight. The views are stupendous, its quiet, and beautiful. The showers can be a bit hot, but hey ho, better hot than too cold!

We stayed here for 3 nights in very mixed weather. The views from the site are fantastic but you do have to put up with it being quite windy.
The toilets at the top of the site are new and clean, with a socket for hairdryers etc. But there are no showers at these. There are 2 showers each for ladies and gents located near the farmhouse which are worked by inserting 50p into a meter. They are basic but seemed clean. There is a freezer in reception which is free to use for your ice-packs.
My only real criticism is that the pot washing area is uncovered and really needs a canopy over to protect you from the weather.
Value for money is excellent at only £13 per night, for 2 adults and 2 children in an 8 berth tent.
The Ship Inn is within walking distance and the food was good with a play area for the children. Llanbedrog beach was very stony and there are a lot better ones just a little further away. The Londis at the bottom of the road was really well stocked. Apart from the torrential rain on the last day when we were packing up we had a good weekend.

Just got back from 3 nights at Bodwrog. Fantastic views of both Llandedrog beach and Abersoch Beach!
Site appears well run. A little basic, but that is how we like it. (keeps it cheap).
We were in tent with EHU and on arrival were given a choice of pitches. Whole site on a slight slope but don't let this put you off. There is a brick built toilet and shower block and a set of toilets 'mid field' in a new 'portable type'. Both very clean. Showers are 50p (and only a 50pence piece), so make sure you've got some. There is a freezer in reception which we used for our ice blocks.
Couple of pubs close by both seving good beers and fantastic food. Very close to Llanbedrog Beach, and what a beach. Fantastic.
The site is surrounded by a good sized hedge which does offer some protection. On our last night we had thunder, lightening and rain and more rain, but we didn't feel too exposed.
We had relatives staying in a chalet close by and this may possibly become a yearly event for us and I'm looking forward to our return.

This is a great site with lovely views over the headland, although somewhat windy if you get a spot near the edges you should be ok. You will need a car to get around as the bus services are extremely rare lol. The facilities are clean tidy and what you would expect although not the ritz which reflects on the price. This is a well run site and the prices per night/week are extremely good. Been going to this site on and off for years now and seen it from when it was just a basic field with a shower but now there has been a little investment into it its a lovely well run park, The owner is happy to answer any questions you may have or if you have any trouble with the livelier bunch of campers as although it is a families only site you do on occasion get the more rowdier bunch lol. All in all its a great value site with extremely good views overlooking the sea and those two islands, cant remember the names of them now. There are also a number of good walks in and around the area and there is a local car boot on a sunday in the field bout a mile down road where bargains galore can be found.

What a fantastic site to camp on. Tents are separate from the caravans. The showers are nice and hot and last long enough for 50p. The owner runs the site like a tight ship without being overbearing we had a bit of a problem with lively lads but after having a word with him it was sorted and we didn't have a problem again. This site was very clean too. The views from this site are stunning a 180 degree view of the coast from the headland. The only problem we had was due to this site being on the headland it was a bit windy and putting the tent up proved to be difficult. The nearest pub the ship isn't the best one which is half a mile away walk on into the village and a mile away is another pub serving fantastic food and a large heated sitting out area where you can take your dog. Next to this pub is also a local shop too.

Just returned from here a day earlier than planned due to the wind. Site was very nice and clean and toilet/shower block was fine although it is 50p for a shower which it does not say on the web page. There was nobody around when we arrived and we phoned the number in reception and was told to pitch up where we liked, so we pitched in the middle of the field and had great views only there was no shelter and the wind was strong, the kids (and myself) were petrified at night we braved it for 2 nights but had to leave. I would never go back to this site as there are plenty of other sites on lower ground in the area. If you do visit try and get a spot around the edge.
