Spent a couple of nights here during Feb half-term.
The site is in a beautiful location within Clumber Park NT; it is very close to the junction of the A57 and A1 - definitely the best way in.
On arrival the wardens are very courteous and friendly. However, we didn't like the fact that the first thing we were told was about bike thefts and that we had to store bikes in a secure shed overnight. It seemed to be the primary focus of the wardens which was rather alarming, particularly as each pitch seemed to have a bike rack that you could lock a bike to. I am not sure why we weren't really even given the option of locking the bikes to these.
The pitch itself was a good size and all the pitches seemed to be very sheltered; particularly useful in February!
Facilities were adequate if not sensational. Again a key was required which made us worried about security.
We did spend time cycling around Clumber Park though and, whilst cold, we were lucky insofar as it was both dry and clear. The cycle routes are excellent and there is plenty of opportunity for all levels of cyclist - we simply potter around but some appeared to be going of in full mountain bike mode!
We are debating about returning; it is extremely convenient, close to family etc. But the 'security' issues put us off a bit.

This site is located 5 minutes off the A1 (This is definitely the easiest way in) set in the grounds of Clumber Park, it is all trees around the site and it makes for an excellent place for walking and cycling as it is very flat. As you approach the site from there is a gateway entrance into the park which newbies might see it as a tight squeeze but take it steady and it’s not a problem. As you get close to the site it is very clearly signed and what to do and where to go when you pull into the entrance. We were warmly welcomed by the wardens who were very professional and friendly advising us where to go, find our own pitch (Hard standing only as they close the grass pitches to rest them in the wet wintery months).
When you select a pitch you need to bear in mind that the power and TV posts are located in the middle of 4 adjacent pitches so you may need power and aerial cable extensions. Don’t even both trying to tune your TV up using a van aerial as the signal is awful (As is the mobile signal, completely non existent), use the aerial on the site post it supplies maximum strength on all Freeview channels. The water, grey water, glass recycling and general waste bins are located together in several locations around the site so you won’t be far away from one where ever you pitch up. All the hard standings are pretty level and seem well drained with room for van, car and full awning.
The 2 toilet blocks are located in the middle of each side of the kidney shaped site so just a short walk from even the furthest pitch you are given a key for them, we didn’t ask why a key was required, but guess it’s to stop general public using them as Clumber Park didn’t seem to have many facilities. The toilets were always clean and well stocked, their seems to be plenty of toilets and showers for the number of pitches. The toilet block is very ‘Practical’ but not really a ‘Pretty’ area, it’s hard to put a finger on it is. The showers are again very practical but not pretty, No pressing a button to keep the water running and you can set your own temperature, little things that are nice. The cubicles are also on two levels with a shower curtain between so your clothes stay dry, the only negative is that the showers are not thermostatically balanced so you can get Hot and Cold spots as other showers and taps are turned on/off.
Places to go – We went to Retford on the Saturday and it has a nice little market and is quite a nice town centre to wander around, then headed over to Gainsborough and went round Marshalls Yard Retail Park which isn’t bad for a wander around.
You can walk for miles around the site however the Clumber Park Visitor Centre is a fair walk to get to
In summary it’s a nice site that we would use again, price’s not good during School holiday times so we would return during school time as it looks like this site gets really busy during the school and summer holidays.

We spent a lovely few days here. Gorgeous location, lots of great walks, plenty of wildlife to see. Toilet block and showers were really clean and good facilities. The warden who booked us in on arrival was very friendly and helpful.
As well as spending time in and around Clumber Park we went to Rufford Park which is really nice. Because we went out of season the parking at Rufford Park was free, which is always a bonus! We also liked the fact that the pitch fee at the caravan site included the cost of car parking in Clumber Park which saves £6. 80 per day.
There was no wi-fi which we didn't mind at all, nice to get away from all that for a few days to be honest.
We will definitely return :-)

Fabulous site.
Wonderful approach to the site. Easy to find. As usual with CC we were able to chose our pitch. Fabulous feeling of space within the site. Pitches good distances apart and also lots of grass pitches to choose from although these were not available due to the time of year.
Wardens very helpful, especially when we had a problem with our gas cooker.
The area has so much to do with regard to walks and cycle rides.
The facilities are the usual high CC standard.
Would definitely go back here and would thouroughly recommend.

Negatives, busy, noisy from kids in the play area if you park too close! No phone signal, no internet as usual as you have to buy the clubs. This is our 2nd visit, last one being in March. I think the price is steep in peak season. Pluses - you don't feel spied on by wardens, it is relaxing and people generally friendly. It's a kids, and dog friendly site, great walks, excellent facilities, spotless site clearly wardens work very hard. Lovely hot showers not stop start. Quite a way from shops. Shame you don't get free entry into NT facilities. Prefer this site in spring. Will try in the autumn would prefer it not so busy if that ever happens!

This is a wonderful site in a brilliant location, there is nothing not to like about this site. The wardens are very helpful & friendly, the toilet blocks are immaculate & you actually feel like that you are a million miles away from civilisation even though Worksop is very close with all the usual amenities. The walks & cycling are superb or you can just relax & do nothing & if the sun is shining you can actually believe that you are on a forest site in France.

We stopped at clumber park on our way home from the north east for 3 nights, we have visited the park before for day trips and on club rallies but not stayed at the site before. Lovely site, well laid out and very pretty with all the trees around, it was quite quiet when we went and looking at the positioning of the grass pitches could be a bit cramped in places when full. We had a hardstanding pitch which was a great size with plenty of room between the neighbours. The site was nice and quiet in the evenings, no noise issues. There were two toilet blocks, both of the same standard and both pretty clean although the tiled floors always seemed to look grubby. They have a bike lock up which you can use free of charge to secure your bikes and they are lots of notices about keeping things locked away and not in awnings due to potential thefts, we didn't see or experience any issues and we did heed the warnings. No pubs or restaurants within walking/biking distance and the little bar in hardwick village is only open at weekends which is a shame. The park is really lovely and cycling around all the trails is fun so would definitely go back but would avoid busy periods.

Fantastic campsite. Great playground for the children, fantastic woods for walking or bike riding. Nice clean toilet blocks. Nice spacious pitches. Friendly staff.
Only negative is it is in the middle of know where and the nearest supermarket is 20 mins drive. The shop on site at the caravan park is very small and would benefit from being made bigger to carry more provisions

One of our favourite sites.
Large open pitches, grass available in summer.
Walk straight into the park.
Quiet, clean, lots of wildlife.
All the usual facilities and high standards of a caravan club site.
Wardens friendly.
Worksop has local facilities but little character.
Clumber Park is busy during weekends but quiet in the evenings. Access out of hours is limited and you have to drive out of your way quite a bit.
