I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this site. We were attending an event in Clumber Park and wanted to be close by. The site is lovely but there were a couple of things that annoyed us. Firstly I asked about pitching my caravan as I have a continental van so the door is on the 'wrong side'. I was told that I had to pitch exactly as it said on the instructions, i. E with my van right up to the white peg on the pitch. This caused me a problem in that there was now no room for an awning despite having paid to have one. Also we paid for the Caravan Club wifi £2. 50 for 24 hours and the service was dreadful. The signal kept dropping so we gave up trying in the end. Another concern was the speed at which some of the cars were driving around the site despite the 5mph limit. The limit did not seem to be enforced and with the amount of children riding around on bicycles, it is an accident waiting to happen. On a positive note the shower block was lovely and clean and the children's play area looked great. On the whole it's a nice enough site but expensive and I probably wouldn't return unless I was attending another event and only then because of the convenient location. This was my first experience of a Caravan Club site and will probably be my last.

Only our second visit to a CC Club site and comparable in standard. Generally v clean and well kept, toilet block could have done with a second check in the day as lots of bits of tissue on floor each day, probably because of the number of children using them. Showers temperature adjustable, which is important with kids. Not sure why you have to have a key for the toilet blocks though.
WARNING - if you have hayfever choose the season you visit carefully. Because the (beautiful) woodland is predominantly deciduous trees and we went in spring I had the worst bout of hayfever I have had in years. Utter misery. That said I expect we'll go back as it's a great location, just not in spring.
Perfect for walking and traffic-free cycling. We had a pitch which backed on to an open space where the kids could play. Our son would have loved to spend all day in the football area.

Only 20 miles from home. Used it to 'test' the van for the first time this year. Just joined the CC and I must admit after the C&CC and their recent shenanigans what a refreshing change.
The site itself is spacious and secluded in the woods but as mentioned in other reviews open to the sunlight. The facilities were excellent loos and showers were very clean ( & odour free!) OH (who hates using 'public facilities' was very happy to. Says a lot! Loads of free SCALDING HOT water for the showers.
All of the staff we met were very friendly. Its excellent for dogs. 4 or 5 pedestrian access gates dotted around the perimeter and you are straight into the woodland (signs state they are locked at 10pm and opened at 6:30 am). Izzy, our German shepherd was in heaven. Squirrels, rabbits and even a deer!
We found out on the last day that the electric hook up posts also have a boosted aerial socket which would be handy should we visit again. You need a TV coaxial cable probably about 20-30 metres or at least as long as your EHU cable (didn't take our TV on this occasion)
On the whole if this is an example of CC main sites then I think we will be using them again.
2 adults, van, awning, car, EHU and 1 dog = £30 for 2 nights got the mid week discount reasonable price.
Found an excellent Chinese takeaway in Edwinstowe 3-4 miles away. Loads of leaflets available on site.
Not much for young children or teenagers to do. Only a small playground (swings slide etc. )

Booking straight forward very nice receptionist, helpful and friendly staff which took and watched you onto your plot, these are spacious but if busy look like they can be tight to manoeuvre on to but site was empty so only can go on sight. Shower room was heated and the water was hot and kept very clean. The site was well maintained grass looked like it was cut regularly through the summer. Water and elsan waste was a walk from our plot but not a problem, drinking water taps dotted around site. This site is one of the best I've been on even with the minor faults I've put. Can see it being hard to book on here when the weather get better but will try. It's going on top off my site list. The rating I'm going to give are base on it only being on doorstep

Fantastic location right in the woods, but open enough to still be sunny.
We live within 10 miles but still stay there as it is so pleasant.
The entrance signs are quite difficult to spot if you don't know exactly where the site is.
Access after 7pm is also difficult as Clumber Park gates are shut and you have to go a long way round to the only available one 24 hours.
Clumber Park is beautiful but very busy at weekends.
Site facilities are typical for a Caravan Club site, you get what it says on the tin.

Just returned from a fabulous few days away at this site and loved it. The setting is beautiful, right in the middle of the woods with a mixture of hard standing and grass pitches. My 5 and 2 year olds loved the play park and general running about in the woods getting filthy! The showers are great with plenty of space for getting dressed and there also is a toddler bath. There is a small shop on site selling basics and ice-creams - big hit with my little ones!
There's loads to do on the national trust property; a discovery centre, cafe, shop, adventure playground, cycle hire and fabulous walks around the park. It's one of my favourite places to visit.
The only downside to the holiday was the midges - my sister reacted badly to one bite and ended up in Bassetlaw A&E! So would definitely recommend using a good insect repellent or pitching away from the trees.
We will definitely return again. Fabulous site

This site is ideal for getting away from it all. Clumber park itself is huge with lots of interesting walks, a visitor centre, good cycle tracks. The site has good facilities and is very popular all year round. level pitches come as standard. Daily papers are available to order from reception. you maybe need to take an aerial hook up wire as there is hardly a tv signal and no mobile phone signal whatever your network, there is a payphone for everyones use on site. People return to this site year after year its a must for anyone who enjoys the countryside

What a lovely busy but quiet site. Situated in the forest. This is an ideal site for walkers and cyclists, with numerous cycle paths of different lengths. Unfortunately there is not much to do when you have as much rain as we did this year.
Each pitch has a metal bar so that you can secure your cycles.
The on site amenities were excellent and clean, plus the wardens were helpful and friendly.
The play area for children is one of the best I have seen.
A fish and chip van visits the site every friday.
Within about an hours drive there are numerable places to visit, from wildlife parks and indoor shopping centres to national trust properties.
Overall, a place to go and enjoy yourselves, with vast areas of safety for the children.

Love this site. I cycle around Sherwood and so it is ideally placed for me. The site has excellent facilities and despite always being full I have never had to wait to use anything.
It has a shop in the reception that it reasonably well stocked with essentials and the staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
There is locked bike storage which I personally find very handy and wished more sites would provide this useful service particularly when considering the growth in cycling over the past few years.
It has excellent walks and cycle paths in the immediate area and is situated close to the clumber visitor centre. Not terribly expensive either.

We are regular visitors to the Clumber Park site and have never been disappointed.
The toilet blocks are as you would expect from a Caravan club site clean, warm, well positioned and not too busy.
The on site shop has basic supplies but there is a Sainsburys a few miles away so a big shop is possible if you want.
There is a reasonable play area for the younger kids and plenty of room around the site for safe play.
Clumber Park itself is as you would expect for a National Trust area. Walking, fishing, Cycling, or nature watching are all popular for good reason and even on bank holidays the park is not too crowded.
The cycle routes are clearly marked out and a map is available from the club shop or the cycle hire near the main visitors area which outlines which tracks are suitable for young or more adventurous cyclists.
My recommendation would be a walk in the woods after dark (with good torches)a real eye opener!
There are entrances all around the park giving you access straight into the woods, ideal if you have dogs or kids.
Clumber park is ideal if you want a relaxing few days with the option to burn off energy if you want.
The only negative for me is that clumber books up very early on in the year but a phone call sometimes proves worthwhile if there have been any cancellations.
