We had researched a number of sites prior to travelling to the Mull of Kintyre, we travelled off peak - early April 2011. This one suited us at that point, but we didn't book before leaving because we wanted to see it first. On arrival, just seeing the location was enough - stunning! and right on the beach! The islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura were visible what seemed to be just a stones throw away. We went to see the very friendly owners, Adrian and Alison, and booked for the week, we weren't disappointed.
It's a small site, catering for only a few tents/units, so if you want to be there at peak times, book well in advance. Theres a new small, but adequate toilet/shower/dishwashing block/portacabin that was pristine and kept that way daily by the owners. Theres a small games room and reception at the main building, and visitors are encouraged to notify any wildlife sightings on a white board for the benefit of everyone. One of our main priorities on any holiday is wildlife - and we saw plenty including mink on the rocks 300yds from the site as well as many special birds and other wildfowl.
The village of Muasdale is small with one shop and no pub. That suited us fine.
Overall, we found this to be a great base on the Kintyre peninsular and will use it again.
Warning - if you have kids/teenagers that want modern day entertainment, then this is NOT for you, but if you have kids that want to play on the beach all day every day - book it now.

First time of writing a review.
So the not so good points:
1. It is just of the main road to Campbletown and therefore noisy especially during busy times and at night (main haulage route). 2. Rules, rules and more rules! 3. Loss of shower water pressure if someone else was running a tap
The very good bits:
1. Fantastic views 2. Right on beach 3. Clean site 4. Good recycling 5. Small site

Lovely site, great views and sheltered at that. Toilet block was lovely and clean, and new! Free hot showers and the timed radiators was a nice and unexpected surprise.
Informative and helpful owners, advisable to book as its only a small site.
Handy local shop which has everything to pretty much you need with helpful and chatty staff.
Should you wish, although we didn't you can build a campfire on the beach.
Westport beach is only ten miles away so plenty of surf if you want it.
Loads of leaflets of things to do and nice to see a campsite not just play at re-cycling but give specific instructions on what is required.
The only downside, if this campsite does have one, is the slight noise from the road but we got use to it so no real problems.
Will defo recommend and if in the area would visit again.

Fantastic site, though very small, great scenery, only one small thing annoyed me was that, the hairdryer in the ladies block the wire was'nt long enough to see yourself in mirror, where drying your hair,
That aside great site, lovely helpful people, fantastic views, right on the beach, well stocked local shop, about 2mins walk down the road, and campbletown a short drive away, with plenty to do and see.
However there is no wi-fi there as far as I know, that didn't bother us too much
I would recommend this park to everyone

Just returned after having a wonderful week at this site. Everything was perfect, including the weather.
Can we ask for anything better than waking up and wandering onto the beach with the dogs on the beach still in dressing gown and slippers, then back for the first cuppa of the day! Then that's followed by many hours of fruitful exercise looking at the stunning view. I could often see otters eating fish on the rocks offshore among the basking seals, although you need to take your binoculars to see them clearly.
The beach is brilliant, but could do with moving a bit closer, six feet is a long way to walk! It's the cleanest beach I've been on, EVERYBODY was picking up after the dogs!
It's a bit of a climb down to it from the site, must be 18' (LOL!)
The new facilities block is now one of the best I've seen, spacious and spotless.
All in all, a perfect site for a great holiday, I'd love to go back again. Maybe I will, but it's a long way away from home. It's a long way from anywhere, but maybe that's why it's a gem of a place to go.
The owners are extremely friendly and help, not officious in any way, but try to make sure everyone is set up well.

Small compact site situated in a picture postcard location, one step from a lovely clean beach, with fantastic views of Gigha & Islay, lovely sunsets.
Shower/washing facilities modern, clean, & well kept. Also have a small games room table tennis & pool for the kids (big & small), informative advice room, with information on local attractions & events, owners always approachable & friendly. Laundry room & fridge/freezer available to use(very useful for us campers. Small but well stocked & priced local shop in the village, no more than 5 minute walk from site. Would strongly recommend.

This campsite is beautiful I and my boyfriend spent 3 nights here in June. We had been camping in a grotty site so to come here was like heaven. Clean facilities, lovely staff and amazing views. The lay out of the sight made it both sociable and privet. We were allocated a plot which backed out on to the beach which was stunning and great for swimming and having camp fires. Lots of wild life and quite good for mountain biking we went on a short but interesting ride on a trail close to Campbeltown. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to high winds coming off the sea and flattening our tent! So this site may be better for RVs, caravans and smaller streamlined tents! But it’s so beautiful it’s worth the risk of your tent blowing away!

It was amazing, firstly the owners Allison and Adrian were very friendly and helpful. They were always there if you needed them and they made myself and my partner feel welcome right from the minute we arrived until the time we departed.
The site was a stone throw from the beach and the view from the caravan was amazing, just like a picture postcard. It was a fantastic site to relax away from the pressures of work and everyday life.
I have recommended this to all my family and friends. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. We are coming back in August this year for a few days and we cannot wait.

Stayed here for six nights in May, weather was very mixed. This site has beautiful views straight onto the sea, I have never stayed anywhere so close to the sea and it was lovely to go to sleep listening to the waves.
Brand new toilet block with lots of hot water and very good showers, there is also a very good washing up area. The only problem with the toilet block was that it was a little cold, there is central heating installed, however there was a problem with the boiler which needed a part and the owners are aware that it is cold, another point is that it would be good if the owners put a bin in the washing up area as there is nowhere to scrape your plates, although these are minor details.
There is a laundry with washing machine and dryer and a pool table and table tennis all of which is housed across the road in an outhouse where there are also plenty of leaflets.
The major down point of this site is the fact that you have to cross the main road to put rubbish in bin, or if you had children then they would have to cross the main road if they wanted to play table tennis, there is road noise in the morning but tails off during the day and not much at night.
There is a really good shop just a short walk away with the best priced whisky ever! What wins with this site is the owners friendliness and keenness to please and the best part is the views which are wonderful, you can see right over to the islands or watch the seals on the nearest rocks and the sunsets are fabulous.
I would be most keen to go back to this site which was also well priced with electric hookup and awning.

Went to get a quiet, relaxing week away from it all and we were not disappointed. The owners, Adrian and Alison, were very friendly and welcoming and helped us get our caravan onto our pitch.
The pitches could not be closer to the beach and the views are fantastic. As several other reviewers have said, the sunsets are the best ever. The beach is clean and great for children and dog walking. We even had a barbecue and a wee fire on the beach one night while we watched the sun go down.
The new toilet block is top notch and kept spotlessly clean. The local shop (2 minute walk away) stocks anything you could need to keep you going until you get to Tarbert or Campbeltown which both have supermarkets. You can even hire binoculars at the site.
All in all, a perfect 'chilling out' site and we will probably go back for more of the same sometime.
