If you want to relax and escape for a while you wont find a better site. All there is is the beach and the stunning sunsets. Our caravan was ten feet from the beach with nothing between. If you need entertaining and amusements this is probably not the site for you.

The local shop is a couple of minutes walk and has every thing although you need to take cash as no plastic. The shop keeper likes the rustle of money(he told me). There are two supermarkets and all other facilities in campbelltown which is a lovely drive down the coast rd(the only rd).

The shower blocks are basic but functional and they are being upgraded this winter.

We will definitly be going back. Gerry and tania.

We were really looking forward to this visit, sadly it didn't live up to expectations. The touring field is much smaller than the web pics make it look. In my opinion this field should accommodate no more than 7 units and not 10. Pitch siting has to be just right according to the owners directions, a motor-home being asked to move 14 cms, so the 28 foot pitch markers are really irrelevant. We ended up with neighbours sited less than 6 feet from our unit. The toilet blocks although warm and adequate are showing signs of age, broken window in ladies boarded over for at least 3 years now apparently. Hair down the plug holes in both the ladies and the gents showers, no hand towels/dryer to dry hands in main area. The chemical waste is rather a challenge too, a toilet bowl on a raised concrete block, which could prove quite difficult for the elderly. The touring field was also used as a tennis/football play area by the occupants of the site static caravans across the road which was quite annoying. The village shop is well stocked and opens early, a short walk away. The beach is lovely and clean as would be expected in this area. Local hotels and pubs provide good fayre. Campbeltown has 2 supermarkets, Tesco and the Co-op.

The position of this site was the main attraction for us as each touring pitch faces the sea and the isle of Islay. During our stay we encountered the most stunning sun set every evening despite the constant rain. The facilities at Muasdale were good and the hospitality very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The village has a really good well stocked shop and is 5 minutes walk from the site, but besides this and a bus stop there is nothing else in the village. We drove down to Cambletown and had a good meal in the Hunting Lodge Hotel on the way back. We did encounter swarms of midges while we were there which is irritating. Never-the-less good little site in a stunning setting.

We have only just returned from this lovely site, and I wish we were still there! It is in the most perfect location, if you`re in a tourer or tent it`s not possible to be nearer to the beach and sea, which are incredibly child friendly.
The toilet/shower blocks are portacabin type buildings, but kept extremely clean. Each block, one ladies and one gents, contains 2 toilet cubicles, 2 washbasins, 1 shower and 1 hairdryer, and everyone is given a code to punch in in order to gain access.
There are only 2 fresh water taps, but that is quite ample as it is only a small site. There is also a sink for campers to wash up, waste water disposal point, and chemical toilet disposal point.
It was suggested in a previous review that the pong which wafts over the area comes from the septic tank, but we smelt the same pong all along that coast at times, and were told that it was caused by the sun shining on left behind seaweed.
Across the road is where the owners live, there are also 8 static vans and a holiday apartment in the main house.
Altogether the site is very well kept and located, and we wouldn`t hesitate in going back.

Visited here in August. Weather was changeable, but the views were spectacular! Saw seals and dolphins in the sea. Pitch was a few feet from the beach. Toilets are in a portacabin, though warm and clean. Local shop was well stocked aand a couple of minutes walk from the site. Campsite owner knowledgeable and friendly. Music festival was on in Cambeltown-well worth a visit. This site is well recommended by us and we shall definitely visit again soon.

Lovely scenery, beautiful area. Park much smaller than looks in brochure but having the beach makes up for this. Can get very busy and the septic tank struggles to cope and as it is situated next to camping area, the smell can waft over. Otherwise a quiet relaxing park

Very nice site, owners welcoming. Views spectacular, sunsets too. Little island of seals along far end of beach, amazing to watch. Kids had great time. Small camp fires allowed on beach at night. A brilliant-get away from it all site. Will be going back.

Very pretty site. Spotlessly clean and a good wash room, tumble dryer (purchase tokens from owners) free iron, also a pool table and table tennis, all under cover. Kintyre is worth exploring, if you like peace and quiet-perfect, and great for bird watching(Macrahanish), and wild life.

A very pretty site in wonderful location! though owner had small problem with people in tents maybe due to field being very small.

Campbelltown main road next to site, could be noisy with lorries rumbling past during the night(though slept well most nights)
Local shop superb!!!
Seals were a wonder to watch!!!

Very nice site with friendly owners. The static caravans that are for hire and games room, laundry etc sit on one side of the main road and the touring park is sited across from it right next to the beach.

Lovely quiet place to stay and enjoy the sunsets in the evening. The road doesn't seem to get that much traffic so it isn't that much of a problem that it is right by it. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and the local shop seems well stocked, but it doesn't take plastic and I think it closes at 5.30pm so make sure you shop before you go out exploring the area for the day.

Site owners like to recycle glass, paper, plastic bottles cans etc so make sure you have ways of sorting out the waste you produce too.
